I use to load those 230s in my prc until they vanished. I burned through 200 in 2 months lol. Whats funny to me is my cbto for my hornady 208 bthp is 2.869 for my 300prc. I've literally tested .300 deeper and they shot the best .030 off lands. Cudos to you for loading for a buddy. That's a ton of trust both ways!

Good stuff man!! Never had a "need" but always wanted a H&H but found a nice custom 300 Norma on a 725 Remington action.

My Pacific (Hornady) 007 press has a similar priming mechanism which I used extensively over the years with great results! Hope your rifle has a nice muzzle brake on it! LOL

Burns through a pound of powder in less than 100 rounds.

Try reloade 33 94 grains And berger 230s
The groups will pribably tighten up

Why not just use the auto weight scale?

With those match master dies you can just drop the projectile through the cut out and seat them.

You know I never thought of that. Guess that would help with the small size of the press. Will have to try that!

Rob, what made you decide on the 300 Norma instead of something like 300PRC?

It's not my rifle. It's one of my good friends rifle, So he selected 300 Norma. If I ever get into the magnum 30 call, I'd probably 300WSM.

His friend is SMART, that's why he chose it over the 300 DudRC. 300prc offers nothing over 300wm, absolutely nothing and might actually be worse with heavier bullets. 300 Norma is the real deal well over 3000fps with 230s and above.

New to reloading , why not use magnum primer?

@@RobsReloading so would you think that has anything to do with accuracy ? Also didn’t realize that was a possibility to use standard large rifle primers, because as you said it would seem there aren’t any magnum large rifle primers out there currently

@@nerdyhooligan-3740 it seems we haven't had any problems with ignition and have been getting reasonably consistent velocity (sd and es). I think primers are the least of our many problems we have had with the 300 Norma at this time.

so i sold a bunch of stuff, and bought a barrett mrad. i got barrels in 338lm and 308. love it. really want a 'fast 30 barrel' i reload 300 win mag for long range. have a couple rifles for it. is it worth getting a 300 norma barrel? iv read that you can launch a 250 atip @3000. that sounds worth the price of admission of loading a new caliber. or do i stick with 300wm?
