Can it cause the car losing power? My friends Lexus drives fine short distance but long distance starts to lose power to the point you hsve to pull over and let it " rest" to accelerate. Its running lean as well

It could do that if it’s clogged. Pressure builds up in the tank, and gasses aren’t circulating through the combustion cycle.
Does the gas pump click when ever they try to pump gas under that condition?

@@AutoMotivate I think it does pump gas normally. I know for a fact an exhaust leak melted the evap cannister (assuming it's the same thing as the charcoal cannister)

@@xXlURMOMlXx it is the same! Since it needs to be replaced anyways, it’s a good place to start. They are relatively cheap anyways.
I would buy some shielding tape and wrap the canister to prevent the Evap canister from melting up again.

@@AutoMotivate the car is rusted pretty bad and honestly not worth throwing money at it unless I know it will fix it. I've taken it to 2 shops and they have both refused to give me a solid diagnosis after taking their money. The only information we have is that there's an exhaust leak, running lean, and that the canister is toast

@@xXlURMOMlXx exhaust leak causes the running lean issue, however, that alone wouldn’t cause the loss of power.
