The Walk - EP 147 - Exploding Viaducts & The Silver Screen - The Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway

Hello everyone, and welcome to another stomp!
We took a full 5 a side football team of myself, Phil, Ande, Jake and Nikita, on a trip to walk the former Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway.
We start the explore in rainy Rochdale at the site of a former viaduct across the River Roch. The viaduct was demolished in 1972, but it came down a bit sooner than expected!
We then follow the route of the line as it winds through tunnels, across viaducts, and through stations up into the stunning Lancashire countryside until we reach the town of Bacup, and New Line Tunnel.
New Line Tunnel was the location for scenes from the very famous 1961 film, 'Whistle Down The Wind''.
