Zoom G1xOn Hack 40 Additional New Effects

Zoom G1xOn tutorial on how to update new firmware and get 40 additional new effects.
Step 1 : Download the update from Ren Obdianela's video and the link is on the description.
Step 2: Open Modified Zoom G1xOn exe
Step 3: Press UP and DOWN button simultaneously, then plug your mini USB cable to your computer and Zoom G1xOn
Step 4: It will say on your Zoom G1xOn: Ready For New Firmware Update. Then on your computer press ReScan Device. Then it will automatically fill in the Pop Up window: Zoom 1 Series. Then press Execute. It will download and update your Zoom G1xOn
Step 5: Update complete. Just exit the program and remove unit from USB. Then reboot your pedal.

I already knew about it before I started this vlogging because I watched tutorials and videos about suggestion on vlogging and yup they all said about this one. Don’t know for some reason that instead of the lens I always look at the screen. I’ve been trying to correct it as well but I gave up and just focus on the content that I wanted to point out or share. Another critique I often receive is my voice is too quiet. Again that’s also something that’s hard for me because it’s the nature of my voice or quality of my voice. Last but not the least is about me having hard time talking in English and also they mention about my accent, some say that I should speak in my own language or dialect so it’s easy for me and then I did that, but some of my viewers said they couldn’t understand as well and if I can speak in English. Hehehe! Anyways cheers!!!!

Yes, I saw that two years ago. And that's why I subbed to your channel. It was 2018 when I really focused on building my channel. I think the whole year of 2018. thank you so much! Around that time I just kept searching for Zoom G1on and G1xOn users and watched their videos and comment on their channel. Then I do my own thing. And for some reason it worked. On the other hand, the homebased DIY, demo and reviews also worked for me to gain more views and for wider search visibility on the internet. But my subs mostly came from Zoom G1xon.

you can create a firmware update on your own. Customized with pedal that you want.
Here is the link for the firmware editor. It is a java file so no need to install.

Open the firmware of zoom ms50G or zoom ms70CDR using the editor . Choose the effect that you want to add to your g1xon.
Extract - click the pedal that you wnt to add to your g1 then click extract. It will save a ZDL file (this is the file of the pedal.) Then rpeat this step until you selected all the pedals you want. Close the editor.
Then its time to upload it to the zoomg1xon firmware. Open the editor again.
Then chose firmware of g1xon.
Inject .click inject to upload all the ZDL file that you extracted earlier from MS50 or MS70. Click inject to upload the effect to the g1xon firmware.
Then save it as new firmware updater.
Then update your zoom device. Like the one in this video. 😊

Again sir this is only for G1on/G1xon. Compatible firmwares pedals to G1xon / G1on are MS50 , MS60, MS 70, B1on, B1xon. .you can get the effect there and add it to G1xon. (ZDL format) ive already uploaded ms 50 and ms 70.
Ms 60 , B1xon is for bass . I havnt downloaded the firmware yet. It is comptible though. if you want to use your g1 for your bass you can download the firmware of b1xon and ms60 in the zoom website.
If you want to modify G1four using the editor, you can get the padals you want from the compatible firmware. firmwares of zoom g3x, zoom g3n, g3xn, g5n, b3n, zoom ac2, zoom ac3, b1four, b1xfor models. They use ZD2 format.. you can download it in the zoom webssite.

Hello. I'd like to say that I've lost certain effects. Haven't used the pedal in some time, but someone could check maybe. I think I am 95% sure I've lost AutoWah, RT Closet, and I can't seem to be able to control the new added Shimmer effect with the expression pedal. And then I am 10% sure I can't control the Particle Reverb like I used to. I think once I saw a post where you could choose which effects to add and which ones to remove? If anyone has it, I'd appreaciate it.

Hello Vincent , i have some troubles with the G1xon , i must press very hard on the switches , i use my fists if i want to use the tuner and trust me i have to force ....I admit that I walked on it 3 or 4 times i don't have a lot of space in my bedroom , should i open it ?It works very well except for the knobs , you aren't sure if you use the wahwah to be able to go back or further on the right sound you need ...Thanks a lot , if there's a solution or not ...
hello It happened to my G1xOn as well as the pedal. I think it's got to do with dirt/dust. That's why I made an improvised case for my Zoom G1xon. What you can do perhaps is keep using the pedal. Another way is probably a small USB vacuum to clean the dust particles.

hi vincent, i have a question for you, i have the zoom g1xon, i added the extra effects, and updated the firmaware.....and saved my custom 100 preset bank in tonlib. which i can upload to the pedal no problem......however, i bought a 2nd zoom g1xon, and have updated the firmware , and all the same new effects, but when i try to upload the saved bank of 100 presets i get an error....and it wont let me upload the 100 preset bank to this 2nd pedal. any ideas? cheers mate.
To be honest I haven’t tried it but what I’m thinking is that it’s got to do with the internal memory of the pedal. The new one that you bought, is either a little bit different like incompatibility problem or the internal memory got error in itself. Like needs reformatting. I’m not really sure. @@vincentryanborres yes its very strange, its the same pedal, same firmware etc....but it just wont let me install my presets into it......i have resorted to adding them one by one, which works on most, but even then some do not want to install and i get an error message.....only when trying certain patches...very weird. thanks man.
It's a pain, isnt it. Hit or miss which could've been just one go supposedly. The Zoom G1xOn is getting obsolete. But, I love this pedal. Very handy to carry to jamming and gigs.
@@vincentryanborres yeah jts a freat little unit, i added 2 extra footswitches connected by 3.5mm male to male cable, soldered to the pcb momentary pads.,,, so i can have it on desktop and still use footswitches for looping etc..,makes it much more useable live...,,try it, its a great mod.,,,

Im not sure, because I think G5N is higher version. This one is for the G1 series and MS-50 and 70. Also it was only shared to me. I hope you can find answer either here or on Zoom G5N forums. All the best!

I think it's a hack and they just shared online. Lots of my subscribers and friends been asking me about this and I couldn't find it in Zoom website. But then just recently someone gave me a link and I just did it. So far so good.

Some of the builtin effects will get deleted. And then you’ll have additional effects. So it means that it will have impact on the existing patches.

I haven’t tried it but I think it’s ToneLib that they are using for this zoom G1xOn. And the Zoom G1Four uses GuitarLab which was the one that I managed to try.

I have a zoom G1on and would like to update the firmware in your video to get the additional effects.
Problem is I get "Illegal Device" error. Please note it is not my USB cable, as it is able to update the firmware from Zoom.
Please help, I need the new Fuzz Pi.
There's other options there or more options. Just click it and it will drop down and you can choose.

Yes sir, bale yung part nang memory card ng pedal mo na maiiba ay yung sa effects part lng. yUng saved patches mo di magagalaw yun. Meron akong bagong update na mas madali na naishare din sa akin. Bale pwede kang magcustomise kng anong effects ang gusto mo ilagay sa unit mo or kng gusto mong same na effects plus additional na gusto mo. Kasi yung nangyari dito sa update na to may mga nawala na effects daw gaya ng Autowah at Z organ, etc. Pero itong bagong share sa akin, nasasayo kng i-retain mo ang original patches ng G1xOn saka dagdagan or totally customise mo sya. Hello Vincent and all people, here is a question to all g1xon users - how does expression pedal work after these updates? Have you tried recently to assign parameters like speed, wave, mix or whatever it was before update? Someone wrote that with update you loose all (or some) the possibilities with pedal (except wah, volume etc) is that true? Can someone check it out? Cheers!!!
Very good question. To be honest I haven’t tried the pedal in terms of assigning effects. But yeah the wah and volume seems working ok as well as the PDlMnpit. Also after I updated it and there were some effects that was removed in favour of the new ones, I immediately posted a second video as sort of a solution. You got the option here to retain all of the effects and settings of your Zoom G1xOn but add or change some effects. Here’s the link: ua-cam.com/video/JxnUTLiGGEM/v-deo.html

I did it, some effects are still adjustable with pedal, some are not anymore (like particle reverb mentioned in some comments and others) BUT comparing to what the update brings - it was worth it, thanks again for your help. Stay safe man!

@@vincentryanborres Since the 40 new effects negatively affected some presets, I reverted the device back to its original state and removed 40 new effects. How should the next process be? Should I use this effects manager directly without having to install 40 new effects versions? Or should I use effects manager after installing 40 new effects versions?
Furkan Şirin that’s almost the same as what I did. I then just add the effects that I wanted that’s not in the zoom G1xOn. Like the Gold Drive and the Reverb’s and delays. I think you can only add between 25-30 new effects. That’s why the first update that we did is 40 because it deleted some of the effects and swapped by new ones. But with this solution you are more in control of what you want to do.

If you mean to update your Zoom G1on, yes you can and here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/JxnUTLiGGEM/v-deo.html But if you mean to make it like Zoom G1xOn. The two of them are already the same in terms of software and effects. The only difference is the Expression pedal or (Wah Pedal).

Where does the black button come from?
Bought it from eBay. It’s a non slip self adhesive rubber for chairs and tables. Then I just cut it out to shape. So it’s easy for me to switch from Home to Looper to Rhythm

@@lodiboxing7220 yes pwede na sya. Yan lng din gamit ko pero umiinit yung charger ng phone charger na gamit ko kaya bumili na kng ako ng generic 9v. Pero for short jam or recording ok naman ang usb. Saka bumili ako ng rechargeable battery para pag may outdoors na gig walang problema for outlet.

Hello Tomas, yeah one person also said that there are some effects that disappeared. But I cannot confirm to you because I can't memorise all the effects list but when I opened my personalised patches, they are all seem ok. So, I don't know exactly if there are missing effects.

Hopefully, mahanapan mo ng solution. Di naman din talaga ganun ka-importante tong upgrade kasi di sya official parang hack lng din kasi to na naishare sa akin. Kaya nagustohan ko kasi may mga ibang sounds na magagamit pero in actual fact marami din after nila gamitin tong upgrade nag-request paano ibalik sa original setting kasi yung mga nagawa nila na patches may mga nawala at di gumana. hehehe. I don't think it's official sir. Because lots of my friends and subscribers has been asking me about it and I searched on the internet but I couldn't find it. Not until someone left me a link and that's when I tried it. And Im amazed. It worked. Got new additional effects and my patches are still there. So yeah. totally awesome. I will post video next time to test these new effects.

So far I can change the patches, grab data for FX and patches plus modify FX's / Params. I need to set bounds for the various effects.
Actually I think this G1 On has particle reverb which the G1Four doesn't have. I think the G1on is definitely more powerful than the G1 Four.

All I am doing is sitting in the middle of the conversation between the software (GuitarLab) and the Zoom unit.
It seems it talks standard midi - so my aim is to work out and document the SysEx strings that allow you to modified the patch parameters in real time either with some off the shelf midi gear (to be determined) or make our own with Pi, Arduino or ESP (which opens up bluetooth possibilities).
I want to make music - but I love tinkering with control surfaces - and what we are uncovering here could be programmed from Steinberg Cubase, Logic, Reaper possibly even Abelton etc etc.
