    Thank you! Excellent tutorial which suggests unlimited sonic experimentation. I had a brain lock about how to scroll through the categories, and you got me through it. The booklet supplied with the G1on was confusing on that point. You covered it very well. I played your video at reduced speed. 👍😊

    I bought mine from a pawnshop only because they had a cheap price tag on it. Almost 20yrs ago I told myself I'd never buy another Zoom pedal after wasting my money on a zoom 505. But I like this one a lot. Boss is still my fave pedals but this one is pretty good. Nice tutorial also. Thanks bro.

    what I have found with this pedal is that less is more, what I mean is that too many effects in the chain can give muddy sounds
    I have a set of 15 patches with just 1 or 2 effects in the patch and they sound much better than the presets, also in the name I have included guitar pickup selection suited to the effect

    Great tutorial, thanks! Beyond being new to the g1Xon, I'm also new to guitar pedals in general, but I want to experiment and find my personal tones. It would help immensely if I could get a hang of "which pedal is which" in the g1xon, like, what pedals are being simulated by what inboard effects, since they all have generic names in the pedalboard. Like, some are obvious, like the Big Muff, but if there was a list of which is which I could just research the original pedals and know what I want. Is there such thing somewhere? Or any tips on choosing simulated pedals beyond pure trial and error? Thanks.

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  3 роки тому +1

      Good point. Zoom gives a bit of description about each one in the manual, but many of them are things that they simply made up. Decoding this is a good idea for a video though, so I might search for another G1on and do it :)

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  4 роки тому +1

      Yes, you can use any selection you like. Sometimes layers of complex effects will be too much for it though, and it will give you a message saying that the effect processing limit has been reached. But layering 3 delays is usually ok, and I made a video about piling up 5 distortions. That was a while back, I think if you search for "G1on distortion experiment" it should appear :) #gearfacts

    Hey-great demo. I recently got the B1on and have just started playing with editing patches. I haven't read anywhere that you can add patches to the existing ones. I'd rather build my own and place them where I want them in a bank without overwriting built in patches. I saw in your demo that you stored a 2nd version of a patch, but it looks like you had to replace an existing one. Is it possible to add new ones? Thanks

    Hi :) I have a question,
    When you modify a patch and decide to save it into another location like you did from J8 to J9, what happens to the patch that was originally in J9? Does it get replaced or does it get moved to a different number?
    Also, great video and very clear visual of the g1on screen. I can't even see the screen in most videos and therefore can't grasp what is being done with full clarity.

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  6 років тому

      I'm pretty sure you end up with two copies of the same patch, as the original (J8 in this example) gets saves automatically. You can override auto-save though, in which case J8 would return to its factory settings once you switch to another patch ...I'm pretty sure that's what happens, anyway... Gearfacts

      @msnahushkumar6522 6 років тому

      I really didn't expect such a quick reply!! Cheers man!! This is awesome!
      Coming to the query, we have 2 different patches at J8 and J9 right?
      What I wanted to know is, if I modify J8 and decide to save it in the J9 slot, what happens to the already available patch at J9? As in the factory programmed patch in J9? Does it get relocated to say, J10 or does it get over-written by the modified J8 that we saved?

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  6 років тому

      You still may be able to add an effect when the processing limit appears, but your choice will be limited to the more simple effects. You just have to look through the list to see what's still available. Sometimes the limit really is reached and there is absolutely nothing you can add. Particle verb causes this a lot because it is very intensive on the processor. This was an excellent question - Thank you! Gearfacts

    • @gearfacts

      Hmm I don't have anything specific, but I do know that they use Vox amps and analog delay, both of which are simulated in the G1on. Use lots of dealy of course, with the time set to about 250 to 300ms, not too much feedback but nice high volume on the delay effect. A bit of overdrive would help too, maybe experiment with putting the overdrive just before before the delay to bring out some extra crispiness. Also, you won't need much reverb if any. I hope that helps :) Gearfacts

      Thank You very much for the quick response. One more last question how can i use longer sustain to play with or without you. The intro solo is played with using ebow or line 6 if i am right. Is there any option given in G1X to create that long sustain which edge is playing in the song. Thanks Again!

      Aseem Bhardwaj compressor is the answer. You can use it to boost a falling signal.

      @@gearfacts thanks for your reply , I keep tweaking the patches but they get saved on the exsisting patch . How to save them separately and retain the default patches .

    everyone seems to have trouble with this pedal. The reason is THEY DONT WANT TO SIT DOWN AND OPEN THE MANUAL AND FOLLOW DIRECTIONS!!! Hands on people. you have to open a book so to speak if you want to learn it!!!
