Danke You so much for this VID!
    11:22 Thank you so much!
I think the THING that Makes Mignola so great,
is that his Sequential Art feels like a Movie from the
    Golden Era of Cinema.

I have the collected version, and am quite satisfied by it. 😊 Better still, I have the original DC comics from the early seventies -- another good interpretation of the stories. Sure would be nice to have the original pulp magazine issues, but you can't have everything.

you know, you mention the amount of detail in the work, but this is mike mignola, it's kinda funny because lots of other comic artist go reaaaaally far with the details, compared to them mignola is kinof tame XD.
but seriously, newer mignola stuff looks much better to me, and it has much less detail, but it's not just that, it's something else that's better. I just can't figure out what it is, the composition is much better, but I think that what really makes it better is, every panel has a very satisfying illustration.

Haha, yep, we're in a Mignola-centric discussion when we're talking about simplicity. His own growth from where he started to where he is now is most compelling to me. And that's interesting that you say each panel is a very satisfying illustration. I totally understand that and actually agree, but oddly enough, and equally enough I find that the whole page is extremely satisfying because the detail of character and place are spread out over multiple, very simple panels. His panel choices, their size and shape, are also fantastic and much better than when he started.
