Another great Canadian band, Harri! Thank you, brother! You're so right in that this is a song to just lay in hammock in the shade and listen to great music while the sun beats down. Lighthouse was formed by drummer Skip Prokop and keyboard player Paul Hoffert. Prokop had been drummer for a previous group, The Paupers, who were so successful in Toronto that they were invited to perform at the legendary Monterey Pop Festival in 1967. As Lighthouse, they played many important shows but also played at the Atlantic City Pop Festival, which took place only a week before Woodstock, yet was never plagued with the same issues the more famous music fest saw. It's interesting that Lighthouse, Chicago, and Blood Sweat and Tears all came up with the idea for a Rock band with a horn/woodwind section that was based as much in Jazz and Rock and Pop. Often overshadowed by the two American groups, Lighthouse nevertheless still released some great music over their time.
This song reminds me of attending bush parties in northern Canada during my crazy younger years. I love that you’re listening to so many Canadian artists! 🇨🇦
My 1st 2 months as a letter carrier I thought my body would break! I'd come home, lay in the grass in the back yard and smoke a joint and think of the opening line of this song. Got me through it all.
Hats Off To the Stranger One Fine Morning Take It Slow Pretty Lady Just Wanna Be Your Friend Lighthouse, just a great 60's band from Toronto.🇨🇦 Feel good music with a great groove. Love the horns. They played at our High School which blew our minds back then. What a treat. Great reaction. Thanks Harri and Louis. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Another great Canadian band. I had an LP by Lighthouse but traded it with my friend for a pair of hockey skates. She still has the album and I grew out of the skates.
My friend filled in for a couple days as a temporary drummer for these guys in the mid 70's when their drummer got sick. They played in our folk festival that year....great memories.
That was a blast! Lying on your stomach on the beach with your eyes closed listening to your transistor radio. Hell yeh! Thanks Harri and Louis for the great suggestion! 🎶😎🌞📻🏖🎶🇨🇦
This is feel good energy music. Lighthouse is a great Canadian band who used elements of rock, jazz, classical music with horns & string instruments. They had their biggest hits in the 70's. "Hats Off To The Stranger", "Feel So Good", "Take It Slow (Out In The Country)", "I Just Wanna Be Your Friend", "I'd Be So Happy", "Pretty Lady" etc.
I’m not familiar with this band but I love their sound. They remind me of a blend of many of my favorite bands including the Beatles, Kinks, Beach Boys, Chicago and a few others. Perfect song for the season 🌺✌️
Sunny sunny dayz...yes....I well remember this one for sure...they had that big band sound like BS and T, Chicago, etc; This is a great cut...another hit was "One Fine Morning"...We all gonna fly brother...Thanks Harri....
So here is my story about LIGHTHOUSE. They were a local band, Canadian, but just a few hours away from Buffalo. They had their first hit song, I don't know if it went national or just local, but they were playing a high school dance in the church hall down the street from me. I got dressed up, my besties from across the street were at the door to pick me up and my mother said "where do you think you're going?". I had forgotten to do the dinner dishes the night before. No dance for me.
Althouhh the Sun and Moon are the king and queen of music respectively, the lyrics and the delivery in the music comes under Mercuty and Venus respectively. Mercury and Venus gives a higher divination play than the Sun and the Moon. Hence this song is ordihary. Here Comes The Sun by The Beatles is different becsuse George Harrison compose the song and is the lyricist and he is a spiritual person. Sun rrpresents spirituality of the curreht moment to moment in this current life and in Nadi Astrology Mercuty and Venus are the sons of the Sun following his procession trek as The Sun chariots across the sky round the Earth. By the way Jupiter represents your spirituality from your past life for which you may have to do some penance.
Great choice in songs. Like your reaction. I'm curious if you would ever review and react to a whole album in one sitting? Here is one to try, thirty-six minutes of Blue by Joni Mitchell: ua-cam.com/video/MvR7Dkg4NQU/v-deo.html
'One fine morning 'is a great song by them
That was the first song Harri reacted to a few months ago.

LOL, I had totally forgotten about this song! Next thing you know, I’m singing along with it cuz all the words just came back to me. I love that!

Hi Harri, another great Canadian band! Lots of great songs. One of mine is One fine morning. Cheers
I loved Lighthouse... since I was a kid.
Thanks! Someone finally reacting to this great band.

Your story is sad, but not as sad as mine! 😭😭

Love Lighthouse, was a great summer tune laying out in the sun and swimming in the river as a kid.
Awesome Louis, you have great taste!

One of the former band members, Howard Shore, is now an Academy Award winning composer for such movies as The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
That's damn cool.
When my nonCanadian friends want to know what Canadian music is, I just refer them to Harri. He does it best.
My favorite LIGHTHOUSE song is "Pretty Lady"........check it out, you will love it......
Sunny sunny dayz...yes....I well remember this one for sure...they had that big band sound like BS and T, Chicago, etc; This is a great cut...another hit was "One Fine Morning"...We all gonna fly brother...Thanks Harri....
First time listening for me to this song. I like it! 🙂
Top song from 1967 you needs react to is "Sandy Posey - Single Girl" 💯🙂
Aahhh, Use to listen to this great CANADIAN Band especially in the summer this song hit the mark every time.
As you liked Lighthouse, check out Powder Blues Band's Let that Guitar Ring - a real rock/blues jam.

Howard Shore has scored 80 plus movies and received 3 Oscars for Lord of The Rings
Thumbs up for Louie 👍
You can check out another Canadian band from the same era, Crowbar, Oh What A Feeling.
What a rush . . .
"Pretty Lady" should be next.
Great band, full sound.
A big favourite of mine!
Grew up hearing this song this one is like a cross between the Beatles and Queen
Fun AF. Never heard it much in the US.
Reminds me of "The Kinks" genre or 'Summer Days'
Great Canadian band
The only song I know by them is "One Fine Morning", interesting group, maybe I should drag the old LP back out and give it another try.
Reminds me a lot of the Kinks summer-ish song they put out.
There were a number of songs from the early 70s that give the impression people were obsessed with a '20s sound. Not sure what all that was about.
🇨🇦🔥😁🤗🌞
For something similar try "Beach Baby" by The First Class.
Skip had to sing this song,Bob did not show up,what a surprise, anyways it was all good.
Donovan… Sunshine
superman. A good summer song.
If Emmit Rhoades wasn’t so good solo he would probably be in a band like this.
Love that piano! When you get around to it please react to Jane Olivor. I think you’ll love it. This song is fun isn’t it!💕

I've been listening to Blue over and over since seeing Joni at the Newport Folk Festival. Such a perfect album. 👍✌️🇨🇦
