Another great Canadian Band.🇨🇦🇨🇦 Lighthouse a Toronto band from the 60's. Sunny Days, Take It Slow, Just Wanna Be Your Friend and One Fine Morning which you've listened to already. Great horn section and harmonies produce a spectacular selection. They played at my high school for one of our dances. Fantastic. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Louis. Great request. 👍✌️🇨🇦 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Love this song, and Lighthouse! I was a kid growing up in Toronto at the time and of course they had massive airplay on local stations. One Fine Morning is in my favourite 10 songs of all time. I was thrilled when you reacted to it a couple of months ago. Check out another jazz/rock song from the same time by another Toronto band - Sun Goes By, by Dr Music. We had some great Canadian music back then and not sure if that song got any international airplay.
I heard that the sax player from Dr. Music also was in Motherlode and contributed to the writing of Sun Goes By and When I Die. It was in our local paper as he (Steve Kennedy) had moved into a small village nearby to where I live.
Great reaction, Harri: This is my favourite Lighthouse song. Few songs are as catchy as this one IMO. I heard that the drummer, Skip Prokop got a call from Janis Joplin's people with an offer to be their drummer and he had to turn them down as Lighthouse was in the works.
Its 1972 all over again when I hear this tune. Traveling on the interstate btwn college and my hometown. Great car tune. Really lifts your spirit and makes you feel good.
This is a favorite of mine Thanks . Embarrassingly enough I was shy in the 70s and was in love with a girl but didn't have the courage to ask her on a date. I've always regretted it and wondered if this song wasn't my "COP OUT Excuse" for not having stepped up to the plate. I hope Joy had a good life without me, I still think of her all the time and want good things for her. 70s music was so in-touch with what was going on. Love your Chanel. Thank you Again, was nice to go back again.
Thanks for doing this great reaction! It is one of my favorite songs. I bought the "Can You Feel It" album when it came out in 1973 and I still have it. I played this song over and over back then, and I still love hearing it today.....Lighthouse was a terrific band.......thanks.
This is feel good energy music. Lighthouse is a great Canadian band who used elements of rock, jazz, classical music with horns & string instruments. They had their biggest hits in the 70's. "Hats Off To The Stranger", "Feel So Good", "Take It Slow (Out In The Country)", "I Just Wanna Be Your Friend", "I'd Be So Happy" etc.
lighthouse and Dr. music - 2 Toronto bands that channeled Chicago horns and brass. Both hit top 10 on Canadian charts. Not to be confused with Edison Lighthouse ( love grows where my rosemary goes) from same era.
Harri B, before lead singer Skip Prokop formed Lighthouse he was in a Toronto band named The Paupers. Look for their song "Think I Care" '67. Another good Toronto band at that time was The Ugly Ducklings. Their song to check out is "Gaslight" '67.
Harri, last month you did Sunny Days from these guys, and 6 months ago - One Fine Morning, when you said they reminded you of Fela Kuti. Canada's version of Blood, Sweat, and Tears, and Chicago. Unfortunately those will be the only 3 songs, all the rest have less than 200k views. Even my favorite - 1849 only has 46k views.
So there were four songs, all underated, that came out in 71-72 time frame I would like to recognize: This one, Pretty Lady; Ring by Cymarron, Somethings Wrong with Me by Austin Roberts and Ain't Got Time Anymore by Cliff Richard but sung by Glass Bottle. All diamonds in my ears
This is my fave Lighthouse song, even over One Fine Morning. The music of my college years!!!
Skip Prokop the lead singer was also the drummer, writer of this song and the band leader and Co founder.may he rest in peace
Yes a feel good song from the feel good decade of feel good music. God bless the 70s, that decade rules!❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is a fantastic Canadian band, great choice Louis for your Anniversary if memory serves. ❤️
❤ Love this song yet it breaks my heart because i was too shy to ask out the most gentle beautiful lady i have ever come across in my entire life
Thanks Canada, once again.
Oh my gosh, here is a beautiful, rockin' and obscure song from the early 70's that I loved. Big brassy and a great traveling, road song!
Another great Canadian Band.🇨🇦🇨🇦 Lighthouse a Toronto band from the 60's.

Which province are you in?
@@angelajakem366 Hi Angela. I live in Ontario. 👍✌️🇨🇦
Mary Baillie Me too. You must be close to Toronto. I was reading in someone's comments that they played at their highschool in Welland.
@@angelajakem366 North West of Toronto. 👍✌️🇨🇦
Skip Prokop went to our High School, ( Hill Park), but was a few grades ahead of me. He is missed RIP
There are a group of underappreciated songs from this era that i love, but you seldom hear. This is one of them.
Should have been a MUCH bigger hit in the U.S. than it was .🙂

Sun Goes By one of my faves - would listen to the radio for hours just to hear it. A lot of great Canadian music yet to be reviewed.
I heard that the sax player from Dr. Music also was in Motherlode and contributed to the writing of Sun Goes By and When I Die. It was in our local paper as he (Steve Kennedy) had moved into a small village nearby to where I live.
Pretty Lady and One Fine Morning are their best songs IMO, the horn section is awesome. 70s ruled with their instrumental bands.
Check out their big hit One Fine Morning
Love that song. I think Harri did that one a few months ago.
Forgot about that one - kind of a Chicago/Blood Sweat & Tears sound!
Great reaction, Harri: This is my favourite Lighthouse song. Few songs are as catchy as this one IMO. I heard that the drummer, Skip Prokop got a call from Janis Joplin's people with an offer to be their drummer and he had to turn them down as Lighthouse was in the works.

A song like this...sounds like a classic !
One of my all time favourite songs.
Louis knows his stuff!
Hit #6 here in Canada.
Thank you .Thank you Louis for requesting my favourite song by Lighthouse. Just love this song.

A Canadian version of Chicago, though not as prolific. "One Fine Morning" is another of their classics.
Thanks for doing this great reaction! It is one of my favorite songs. I bought the "Can You Feel It" album when it came out in 1973 and I still have it. I played this song over and over back then, and I still love hearing it today.....Lighthouse was a terrific band.......thanks.
18 years old. Had just graduated high school. Good times back then.😋
Love from Canada❤

Great Canadian band..Take it Slow is a great one , you d like Harry..
A little touch of Chicago arrangement don't cha think?
Great song, thanks for reacting to it.

Good one! A Canadian Horn Band! Try "One Fine Morning"...same band! You won't regret it!
