- Farthest Frontier Early Access reviewed by Leana Hafer on PC.
Performance issues and weird quirks of the gold economy are enough that it needs a bit more time in the early access oven, but there's a lot to dig into already thanks to the way it realistically gets into the weeds of food production and preservation in a middle ages village.

the gold cost will be shown if u hover over the gold amount with your cursor. there you can see where the gold comes from and where it goes. and for the tower costs: you didnt turn them off, you just didnt inhabit it with soldiers. press the button on the top left after u slected the turret, there is a option where u can "turn it off".. but saying it might be a bug in the game is wild instead of just pressing the only button pressable on the turret. dont tell me u didnt know that :D
This game looks super fun and fascinating... but very very hard for my simple brain
This game is so chill and beautiful and seems made with love. Highly recommend 👍🏻
It's made with love and performance issues. Buy it if your pc can handle it. It's a glorious game
@@lefterismplanas4977 its early access and im running it on a laptop on medium FINE so get over it
@@nerdyshore6711 with a big city or a small village?
is it a difficult and long proces to understand it? it seems somewwhat complicated, would love to get this tho
I'm confused. You say it's chill while another comment here says it's "very very hard".
My town has small pox
Ign: glorious. 🤔
Just bought this game after 10% steam sale. It worthy!
whats the intro music from?
Does anyone know the name of the song from the beginning ?
Grim Dawn showed Blizzard how a proper sequel to Diablo 2 is made, Farthest Frontier is another outstanding game even it if is in early access, Create Entertainment has proven themselves yet again.
Gives me stronghold vibes
5:40 - "GTX" 3080 lol. Can confirm the game has performance issues even with a 5800X and a RTX 3080. Its a great game tho, worth it.
Goes to show the standard of research and accuracy of these employees.
7? Omg , well in my opinion is a 8.5, amazing and chill game
7 is crazy low, sounds like he had troubles because he didn't understand some mechanics...not a reason to mark down a game. It's not the games fault he lacked the knowledge. 8.5 feels like a fair score at this point in time.
@@IntrinsicPalomides it is a games fault if a newbie cant understand how a game works. Tutorial tips is essential for all city building games
I'd rate it higher once the bugs and performance are ironed out, plus there's still more content coming before 1.0
@@escamunicha4276 have you... Read the game guide they so graciously link on the main menu? =)
Manor Lords, takes this to the next level.
But that will not be out for sometime prob...., every fan of these kind of games is waiting for Manor Lords
Looks like an updated Banished, which is fine by me.
Banished was special.
Spiritual successor kinda vibes.
@@orufus12 nostalgia will fool you
A 7? sounds like part of your vote was based on you not understanding certain mechanics within the game, which isn't the games fault it's yours. Easily an 8.5 at this time. And Crate know their stuff so will only ever get better.
badur's gate 3 early access also got 7
but when they reviewed the final release they gave it 9
Praises game for realism
Then gripes about not being able to run a fully closed economy without trade
Seems legit 😆 nah but in honesty, that's how you get a rich settlement in medieval times. Or in any times, really. Trade. Where else would the money be coming from? Your farmers aren't just gonna be digging up golden turnips.
Gripes about not being able to run a fully closed economy without trade because he can't manage his upkeep by pressing a single button to turn off guards towers*.
There are maps that can be run with a fully closed economy but it's not recommended. Most maps are missing at least one resource, if not more.
Its like banished but, with soldiers. 👍🇺🇦
So even in this game there is corruption. Truly goty right there.
Ninja theory video games are cool
Cool!
The gold economy is a bit messed up. Unless you have gold ore on your map, you should not expect to be in the green. The game was designed with trade being the cornerstone of your economy, but sadly it feels a bit too unreliable for my taste. You may get no trader that wants the items you're selling, or without the goods you need.
Thatz why you don't protect everything. You protect only your most important buildings. The UA-camr Nivarias shows that well
Im lucky enough to have 10k gold mine deposit in my map, never run out of gold since
@@spoilerwarning8383 just found two 7k gold mines right next to town. The future is bright.
just build markets and you will start gaining passive gold
This looks so awesome. Wish it was on xbox :(
It's still in early access, so once it's fully released, it could happen.
Citybuilders are rare on consoles
You should get a pc
@@mikkodoria4778 can't afford that. Right now a reasonable current gen gaming pc is about 1700 euros. Thats way above my budget.
@@jonathanhijlkema8247 no way man you can get decent specs for 1000 eur (conversion from nzd)
Reminds me of Genesia
GTX 3080? no it isnt...............and the classic IGN 7 score, nothing says pointless review like the classic 7!
Medival > Medieval
if this sort of thing is for you, then yes definitely do get it.
grim dawn 2 looks weird
Looks like Foundation only a hell of a lot better.
A 7 for a game that runs like this??
Hey great review, but just one small correction: it’s PS not PC (Play Station *not* Play Ctation!)
Beautiful it
ris dis dis medevil

Smooth brain moment
Why all the cool games on pc... and not consoles!
Buy a pc?
*COPE*
cuz consoles games are made with pcs.
and pc games are ez pc

in 2022 and this is still a thing? jeez
this dudes voice is supposed to be a woman? lol
This is the type of game you wait 1-2 years before buying to let all the bugs get ironed out and all the content established and also get the game for cheap.
no, youre the type of person who doesnt want to be involved in the community, and a small dev team working towards a vision. Don't project your lack of interest and laziness onto the rest of us.
@@nerdyshore6711 he just wants a finished game don’t cry
Far out IGN is terrible
Should be called CRASH FRONTIER crashes every 5 mins. Have new computer and no second party software ollocks. Tried every fix.
looks like nothing's new..
kinda same with other typical games
not into barbarian city builders . bring me civilisations and also bring me scope and ambition like with anno and impression games .
You're starting at practically the same complexity of civilization as 1404...
Revelation 20:13 The sea gave up its dead, and Death and Hades gave up their dead, and each one was judged according to his deeds. 14Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death- the lake of fire. 15And if anyone was found whose name was not written in the Book of Life, he was thrown into the lake of fire
Why can’t these games ever be from the perspective of other cultures 😕
And be criticised for cultural appropriation? Can't ever win with this.
Short answer: colonialism.
Long answer: the cultural industry with the largest reach (North American and North American influenced) have been telling only one side of history of how Europeans invaded and took hold of other countries, to the point that you have to do heavy research to find out what your country was before Europeans came in to steal their resources. So yeah, want to find out about how other cultures thrived? Be ready to spend some time in the library.
Hope that helped!
@@TheMajorStranger you seem oppressed, I'm sorry you're such a victim lmao grow up
Because there’s not that many developers from other cultures making games like these. It’s not surprising that people create things based on what they’re familiar with.
other cultures dnt civilized enough to make game like this
The way this dude speaks is so grating. What type of American accent is this? Why does he drag some words out?
GTX 3080! Nice GPU
