How To Restore Library In Final Cut Pro

Final Cut Pro makes automatic library backups at regular intervals. Backups include the database portion of libraries only, not the media files.

I received a project from another editor and this is a message: the "library was "damaged. How do you open the right one?

Here is the work around, found in Apple Discussions after much furtive Googling.
Close the project that is corrupted and make sure it is highlighted in the Project Library.
Go to File/Export XML and save that file (I saved mine to a different drive).
Re-import that file, generating a new project.
Close and Restart the FCPX App.
STAY AWAY FROM THE PROJECT FILE WITH THE CORRUPTED TIMELINE.
Open the newly project created via the XML import.
Everything should be there and working fine.

where does FCP save different voice recorder files? why can I not restore those, not sure where they are saved or where they live?

By default, media and cache files are stored within the library, Motion content is stored in the Motion Templates folder located in your Movies folder, and backups of the library database are stored in your Movies folder.
