- Baltic Aviation Academy (Vilnius, Lithuania) continues series of videos based on viewers' requests. This time Martynas Mazeika, Product Development Manager, will demonstrate the purpose and usage of Multi Control Display Unit on Airbus A320. Enjoy!
Anybody else here because of MSFS 2020?
yep
Pranas just has a job now, in an Airline. Obviously you guys don´t. Allow the awesome people of BAA keeping going making such instructive videos. Leave Pranas flying his own wings ! (Thats worth saying ^^)
Hmm actually tropopause is a layer where temperature remains unchanged and the layer where air gets warmer by increasing altitude is stratosphere. Anyway it was helpful tutorial. Thanx BAA
Cənab Dərin Məntiq exactly that, although you wanna keep your bird outta the tropopause so your performance doesn’t decrease, the cool thing about flying over it is that the tropopause is the “absolute” ceiling of CB clouds.
The tropopause is the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere. Right sir?
@@CaptainJadenAR exactly
Canab Darin, Thank you, sir :)
TAXI 0.2 is not 20 minutes, it is 200 kgs.
taxi use time cycle not weight cycle
No madame, in this Airbus MCDU, the value 0.2 is 200 kilograms, not time.
You can add them up easily => 0.2+2.4+0.1+0.8+1+0.7=5.2 = block fuel. So yes, it`s 200 kgs.
Thanks BAA guys. Wanted to know how it works for ages :-)
Hi! Thanks for your video.
Now, I can use the Airbus A320's MCDU.
Thanks Martynas Mazeika and Baltic Aviation Academy.
Nice work in FS 2020
THANK YOU VERY MUCH, DEAR YOUNG INSTRUCTORS OF "BALTIC AVIATION ACADEMY" FOR SUCH A USEFUL YOUR TEACHING MATERIAL
EXCELLENT TUTORIAL!! GREAT JOB THANK YOU SO MUCH
my last operation with an equal equipment is some 15 years ago, the first already 30 (yes years, A310 the first glass cockpit in airliners) Not much has changed. Only , when I inserted flight plans manually , I crosschecked immediately on the map page display to have it graphically verified. Pity you did not show this after inserting new wypts, just to make it easier to follow up for non professionals. Maybe next time, thanks anyway for the upload of your different A320 tutorials. Good Luck
Whose using this for a flight simulator?
pretty sure the CI in an Airbus goes from 0-99 and not to 999. I believe it's 999 for Boeing.
And in EDDF you would never ever be cleared for the KERAX1M arrival. You will instantly get the KERAX07N or South transition. You don't even fly STARs in EDDF if your flightplan ends at KERAX,PSA, ROLIS or UNOKO. Only the transition. So IRL they never fly TAU transition but otherwise very informative :)
I’m sure it goes to 999
Please make a tutorial on Controller-pilot data link using DCDU and MCDU!
That'd be awesome :D
It's a bit of an "advanced" (or unusual) procedure, but quite interesting and useful.
Sadly, not much information about it around the web (it's sort of experimental yet).
I love your channel. It's by far the best Airliner training channel in UA-cam, and you've got some very nice Sims. I won't mind flying one of those ;)
excellent video Just a question, Taxi fuel is 0.2t (you said taxi time is 20 minutes), time for ALTN was 0030 (30 minutes) so following the same convention , if it was taxi time of 20 minutes, it should have been written as 0020 and nor 0.2. I suppose 0.2 is taxi fuel in tonnes.
piyush singh yes u r right 0.2 t fuel for taxi not time
They should hire him to give more free flight lessons in full-motion simulators on UA-cam.
i want pranas back :'(
How can we connect this to system as driver? Help, please
It is interesting - but you should point your finger to the item you are TALKING about.
Thanks, this channel is exactly what I need for the Flight Factor A320.
I also need this for IDG A320 too :)
I love watching videos like this because I love airplanes
I like Pranas as much as the next guy, but, you guys, be nice to the BAA folks. These videos are awesome... no one else out there makes such detailed walkthroughs. Thanks BAA!
Thank you Mister Checkoff, very informative.
Really nice tuto, keep them coming for us wannabes! ;)
Very nice video, as always, but if I can say something, it's not true that in the tropopause the temperature increases again, it simply remains the same (-56°C) untill reaching the troposphere! Only then it rises again.. :)
Yes Marco that is correct i was about to say that . We fist experience the isothermal layer than the inversion .
If you fly from Brussels to Fra you can not fly at FL300:))) it is even FL but you must choose the odd one (FL310, FL330 etc.)
THS is inserted according to which criteria ? You pulled it out of the blue 🙂
In order to attend Baltic Aviation Academy is Lietuviu Kalba a requirement? I know ICAO standards is Anglu Kalba. Aciu in advance. I’m not sneezing just saying thanks.
Watching this video again to familiarize myself with the aircraft again for MSFS, interesting to see the difference between the A320 (and I know there are many variants with different MCDUs and well, lots of differences altogether) and the A320 NEO. But what always makes me smile is when you guys set your departure airport to EBBR, given that I'm from Belgium. Either way, thank you for these wonderful videos!
could you use it like a VFR nav aid and just enter the from and to without all the waypoints and runway info?
say toronto to montreal id letters?,,, cyyz to cyul
amazing how easy he inputs the flex temp it takes a lot of charts and variables to get it right
Henry Iglesias Generally the performance program will send you the speciffic fflex temp over the ACARS.
I have a quick question- If you want to enter a nav aid en route in the airbus, does it have to be done on the MCDU or is there another place you can set the Nav aids? (i.e. like on the B737)
Gorran, Not necessarily, you see there could be an inversion below the Tropopause and BAA have allowed for that - we did not see the met. Also we may also have a temperature deviation at that altitude.
I like your way of teaching simple serious and clear good luck man
Okay okay I know how to use this on the aerosoft aircraft but how do the buttons click? Satisfying click?
Bring back Pranas!
Excellent. This helps a lot. Thank you.
so if you do not enter a flex temp.. does it default for MCT power?
What if the thr red and the eng out are different?
Good tutorial. Now I wait for the B737. :)
How do you get the display names for each country for the (to and from countries)
Very useful for aviation enthusiast....
Going for typerating...your videos are very useful...thank you soo much guys
sorry i dont get you ? i need time leaving and landing time to the destination
He graduated.
Great Stuff!! I'm just a office chair pilot but enjoy getting these serious lessons here and at PMDG. Thanks, KDM
Have anyone learnt how to program the MCDU before?
So Nice Thanks
Thanks but I wait for a full flight Cold&Dark to Cold&Dark for example a flight from LFSB to LFMN or LFPO please. Thank you ! :)
Using for Jardesign A320
Hallo ,wie kann ich beim A 320 neo meine gespeicherten Flüge benutzen ! Ich habe Xplane 11 auf Mac und der Flieger ist von Jar Design
Please go ahead with little more detail of mcdu, it was helpful, thank you.
Can you teach us how to use the MCDU for the Boeing737? Would gladly appreciate it thanks!
It's fmc
Good presentation
Thanks 😊
Glad they brung back tutorials instead of just videos of open days and pranas is getting his type to work with air baltic
+Danny lim I have and it was hard!
Great video. They are students not examiners.
I think the same, Pranas has a better accent and explains very well.
Thank you very much.. very exciting video, it was very interesting for us who wants to be a pilot or practise every day to fly on computers.. I love jumbo jets, especially Airbus
80% of the comments are : "Where is Pranas?", 19% "Bring Pranas Back" and 1% about the video.
More, more!! Please!!
you didn't put the sec fplan isn't?
This video really explains many things about the MCDU! Thanks
Brilliant video. Many thanks!
I wonder what happens when you make a typo while entering the destination. Will the auto pilot then take you to the wrong airport?
+Petra44YT You would have to re check the 4 digits multiple times, likely that one or both pilots would pick it up, and if its already a pre-planned flight from the company then its even more unlikely.
anyone know what is the appr vias?
THANKYOU!!! I really appreciate this video..
He is also good, but the Pranas is more charismatic.
Good video.
Pranas graduated, he no longer does videos here I believe.
thank you very much
mcdu the name for airbus?
Basic advanced aviation
Easy
I agree with your comment.. "Bring back Pranas!!"
I wonder why Airbus didn't design their computer systems to allow Dispatch to send flight plans to the planes over an Ethernet cable on the ramp.
Jim Mowreader ACARS
shukri A320 Here's the Wiki description of this part of ACARS:Flight management system interface[edit]ACARS interfaces with flight management systems, acting as the communication system for flight plans and weather information to be sent from the ground to the FMS. This enables the airline to update the FMS while in flight, and allows the flight crew to evaluate new weather conditions or alternative flight plans. It looks to me as if you can send updated data to a plane in flight, but you can't (or wouldn't want to - if ACARS is anything like Qualcomm they charge by the transmitted character) transmit a whole flight plan. The system I'm thinking of would have a computer on the dispatcher's desk..."you're flying route ABCDE from MIA to CLT at 1400 on 9 May? I'll enter the time and date, push this button...boop! Your whole flight plan is in the plane's computer for you!" What you see in this video is like we did in the newspaper industry 70 years ago when we pulled a story off the teleprinter and retyped it into a line casting machine.
not recomended for transmission to land with irs system is on.. that forbiden
can you do the same for 737?
Yes Bring Him Back Please
PRANAS WE MISS YOU COME BACK PLEASE!!!!
Great tutorial
C'mon Guys He's not that bad !!!
He graduated.
Good job baby
He Graduated
Thank you for an amazing tutorial! And you guys are not bad or something, we are just used to Pranas and how he explains it..
So please if it's possible, bring him back? :D
Thanks
without Pranas its boring
Pranas ??????????????????????????
Nyc
can you explain me well the work of MCDU and does the MCDU access viruses?
+Brian Benard I don't know about viruses - think of the MCDU as a high-tech digital calculator which has limited integration into other systems such as the FADEC (engine control computers) and navigational equipment/autopilot. It is possible to 'hack' an aircraft nowadays through the use of ACARS (a system that links the aircraft with the ground for obtaining weather and other operational information), as well as passenger amenities such as USB charging ports and onboard wifi. There have been several claims of people successfully hacking aircraft computers through these pathways. One guy recently hacked his aircraft while onboard as a passenger during the cruise and claimed he obtained full control over the aircraft's engines - scary thought!

Alexander McAllister thanks bro be blessed
is there any sort of a Map where I can find these Waypoints like "DENU4H" or "HELE4H"?
and those ones which are only waypoints in the Air, not somewhere near the Airports?
Guitar Heave n www.vroute.net/, or if you fly in the USA, search for flights between the airport you want in flightaware.com, click on the flight you want and they will show the route that aircraft took.
Guitar Heave n You can found for europe on www.ead.eurocontrol.int/eadcms/eadsite/index.php.html register free of charge
Those are SIDs/STARs, not waypoints
Thanks for the information 👌
Great video , continue so .
Wait so the computer doesn't calculate V speeds for you?
It should give them, maybe disabled in simulator or not available for some reason. IRL they do get them from MCDU
No, in Real Life the Speeds are calculated by a separate computer.
Execellent explanantion :D
Thank
And where's Pranas ? :/
Pranas where are you?
lovely tut
What is Perf Factor?
Great tutorial and thanks for sharing this.
