Great job 🎉🎉🎉 super simple but very informative!
Something to remember in MSFS - you have to select "LEGACY" in the Accessibilty section in Gen Options so the mouse will allow you to Push and Pull the knobs. I also did not realize that you could use Auto Throttle and still change the Speed manually. Pretty cool, I see that in the Vision Jet also. Way down below the throttle . . .
We learn something new everyday! :)
@@waypointsaviationi have trouble with this one. even if i selected my speed and altitude, if i dont make the proper throttle adjustment, the AP wont work. do you have a video explaining this one? thanks in advance.
@@asi146is auto throttle on?
@@rachelsobolewski2953 yes. and now i know how airbus throttles work. i thought they are the same with boeing.
OMG.. i almost gave up on msfs until i saw this comment.. Thank you!!!

This is just Just amazing
Thanks a lot - that was great! Although I did saw several other good trainings by real Airbus pilots inside the MSFS 2020 sim, this video helped me to have a better understanding of the managed vs selected modes and more! Absolutely awesome! Keep up with more like these, e.g. it would be nice to have some training on various ILS approaches and ways to read the approach charts :)
Thanks so much, we will keep the videos going 😁
Great job man!! very well explained.

@@waypointsaviation pls help to make a video on how to capture ils when autoland 😃
It will be great if you explain how to intercept a descend profile when you are above or below using FCU and speed breaks when necessary.

Thank you so much for this video, very informative !! Definitely Subscribed !!
Thanks for the video brotha!
Any chance you can do a BUSS video for us (BACK UP SPEED SCALE)!
Thanks!
Sure we'll look into making one of those for the Subscribers.
@@waypointsaviation I forgot to mention V1 cuts and steep turns :) thanks a lot
great video!!!!!
Excellent Sir Thankyou for making these. I was wondering about the altitude knob on the FCU - When you change the altitude in selected mode it did not immediately go into open climb. You had to pull up again to start the climb. It seems it allows you to completely set your new altitude before plane climbs or descends, instead of a sudden change even though you are already in selected mode. This knob appears different than the Heading knob which will react immediately to a change. Am I seeing this correctly?
thanks
You're welcome!
I was so excited to try this bur I need help! AP keeps disengaging . I am in Select mode across the board. Do you offer private tutorials?🤣
Hey, feel free to WhatsApp us via the details in the description below, happy to help anyway we can.
Excellent explanation if possible other videos about systems
Thanks for your kind words, funny you should ask, We have 2 tutorial videos in the making explaining the hydraulics and air bleed systems.
Amazing tutorial!! Thank you very much for putting the time and effort to convey to us aviation enthusiasts all this information.
One question: As you were manually changing the Flight Path Angle from the FCU, the plane's pitch angle was also changing to the corresponding value as shown with the "bird" on the PFD.
Is this always the case? (FPA = A/C Pitch Angle)?
Because I have seen planes descending with the correct FPA but with their nose pitched way up to be able to maintain it (the FPA), especially on low approach speeds
Hello, thanks for your comment! To answer your question keep in mind that we have two factors one is angle of attack the other is flight path angle. The angle of attack is the angle at which the aircraft must fly to maintain, straight & level flight Or the angle that it must maintain to climb and descend at whatever rate you choose, the flight path angle is the true angle at which the aircraft is flying. For example, if the flight path angle is zero with flaps up and flying at the speed of approximately 200 kn. You can expect the angle of attack to be around 2.5 to 3° nose up. When you slow the aircraft down and deploy the flaps, the aircraft will naturally fly at a raised angle of attack, which is why you always see aircraft coming into land with a nose up angle. This is just how the aerodynamics work.
Hope this answers your question Let us know if you need any further information.
@waypointsaviation Thank you so much for this elaborate response!
Not only answers my question but a series of follow up questions that I might have had!
Great and well explained video!.
The Expedite button will work to go faster up or down?
Thanks,
Yes, we rarely ever use it, newer variants dont even have it anymore. But when used, it climbs and descends at the fastest rates possible.
EXCELLENT Video. ❤
Dear Sir, I don't have any aircraft like Airbus A230 . Can I practice this class in Microsoft Flight Simulator ?
Hello, thanks for this wonderful tutorial, although I knew most of it already :) One question though: I fly the A320neo as well (in FS2020) 😂 and sometimes (or always?) on an approach small two digit green numbers appear on the left side of the altitude scale .. like 32 and either slowly counting up or down. What are these numbers for? Thanks for your help!
Hello,
I believe you're referring to your vertical speed indicator, double digits (32) are in thousands so 32 would be 3200 feet per minute and single digits are hundreds. Best touch down rate would be less than 300 feet per minute.
Hope this helps, thanks for watching!
@@waypointsaviation Thanks for your reply. No, I am not talking about the VSI "needle". The green numbers I am seeing appear on the top left or lowest left-side of the altitude scale. They can count up all the way to 99. I can send you a screenshot where they would be located.
@@MotoFuzzi HI, yeah sure please send us a screenshot via WhatsApp or email and we can surely look into it and give you a proper answer.
@@waypointsaviationHello again, I think I found the answer already?!?! (" It is the indicator for how far off of the VNAV path you are. 77 means you're 7,700 feet below where the plane wants to be"). Makes sense to me, agree? Another quick question, I assume you are a real-life A320 pilot, could you check whether there is an indication during flight whether the parking brake is engaged or not? I landed with parking brake on but I didn't see any message. Thanks.
Hi,
I'm not yet sure what the indicator you're referring to could be until I see a picture of it, just to be sure I answer you correctly. Yes, I am a real life A320 Pilot, Instructor and Examiner and in the A320 if you set the parking brake at anytime you'll see a notification on the Upper ECAM saying "PARK BRK"
Hope this helps
Best Regards
Thank you! Very well explained!
Good explanation. Thank's
Appreciate your kind words!
thank for share knowledge.
You’re very welcome thank you for watching
Excellent Job! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Just got 10 thumbs up and 8 claps - a first for me! Thanks for the warm support. If you happen to be in Dubai, it would be my pleasure to treat you to 30 minutes in the sim, completely on me. Let me know if you're around!
Thanks, im getting better!
few words yet its all what i want to hear , glad i can make a difference, fly safe
This is an amazing tutorial. Best ever. Does the A330 autopilot work the same way?
Indeed! Airbus 318, 319, 320, 321, 330, 340 ALL have the same FCU so If you know how to fly one you can fly them all, it's keeping with Airbus' common cockpit philosophy.
380 also? When/ if that is available in xp 12 I will purchase? Thank you!
380 is similar but not exactly the same as the rest, but once you understand the logic of airbus you’ll be able to figure out the FCU of the 380 easily too! Yeah you should get the 380 if you can; it’s the best! Dream to fly! We here at waypoints speak from first hand experience flying it! 😎✌🏽✈️
Couldn’t decide if simulator or real deal. Amazing build, great lesson. Thanks Follow for sure.
I think the FPA mode is not meant for nose down 5 degree in your explaination, it's the flight path 5 degree
You are correct FPA refers to flight path of 5 degrees not a physical nose down angle.
