I start my local LVN school here in August. It has been a lifelong goal of mine. I finished pre req for RN but it was so difficult to get in a RN program. I just decided to go for LVN and get in the door and go from there .I am most concerned about the NCLEX style test questions.I am praying I pass. At age 37 I hope I can be successful. Your videos give me inspiration. Thank you!❤️🤗
You totally got this! and don't worry about age! I had a lady in her late 50's in my LVN program, the older, the wiser and you'll do better than the younger ones too because you are more focused. I am so happy I could give some inspiration!
exactly me too! i have my classes done for the rn but im not ganna sit around and wait years to get into a program if i can just more easily do the lvn program, good luck :p
I've 37 going into LVN school in 3 weeks. I actually want to go into Dermatology myself. It's 3:00am at night just stressed out right now about gas prices in CA where I live. She gives relief and I thank here so much for her video's. She just saved a little bit of my anxiety! Good luck Katherine, I know you'll pass :)
I’m working 5 days a week Monday-Friday. I’m doing a WEEKEND LVN program. And I’ve spoken a few times in your past videos. I am feeling the mom guilt. Bad. I’m happy to know that I wasn’t alone in this. I’m currently feeling really bad balancing on completing my LVN. But I know that in 2 years, I’ll be able to support her with anything she needs. Thank you for this daily reminder. You’re amazing. I’ll wipe these tears away, I’ve seriously was asking god why, and here you are speaking every emotion, physical, aspect of how I feel. Being a cna for 8 years now, and finally going to complete my LVN... Thank you.
Omg, I could just cry reading your comment. The mom guilt makes your heart so heavy and you feel like you’re missing out on so much and you do but the time will pass and when it’s your graduation day you will be so glad you stuck with it. I wish more moms in nursing school would post videos because it’s hard. Keep your head up and spend quality time with your baby when you can. I studied with my baby in my lap just to get those snuggles. 🤍👍🏽 you got this mama!
Thank u for all the help.. Orientation for me starts next week. LVN school. It's one year ..we leave with phlebotomy certs and I.V. certs etc... And Clinical hours and theory and skills and fundamentals etc... Seems that nowadays there's a ton of Places hiring LVNs in southern California. Even including Travel nursing.. Correctional nursing... Skilled nursing facilities emergency departments... School nurse.. etc...etc...etc..etc.. There is such a Gap of open jobs because of the massive exodus not retiring nurses. After all the recent two years of Insanity. Nurses were overworked, and it was a scary time for everyone. But once again thank u 1'000 times for these videos.. ur videos are very helpful.
Thank you for this! I start my program tomorrow. It’ll be 11 months of my life to make a better life for my boys & I. I’m a single momma of 2 boys, 17&2! My heart is broken already having to drop him off at daycare tomorrow! I’ve been on disability for most my life due to a kidney disease but I’m tired of living this way, barely making it. God Bless you!
Thank you for this video!! I really appreciate it I’m going to start the LPN this September I was so overwhelmed because people keep telling I should do RN that LPN are not real nurses but Im sure i make the right decision and I will start really soon I’m so excited!!
You just have to go down which path is best for you. I say it in all my videos; LVN was never the goal but it’s better than giving up on nursing all together because RN programs are so competitive. I hope I get there one day but I’m content.
Im currently a full-time night CNA working on my application to the LVN program. I highly recommend becoming a CNA before diving into nursing because it's the basic nursing care. I've seen so many things and my nurses will grab me if there's a learning opportunity 😊 I have one daughter and LVN program is just better for me right now. 12 months and then can bridge over IF I want to! Which I may or may not want to do. Also, where I work has a bunch of LVNs and were glad to know I was working towards it
I needed this like my body needs my heart! I had a nervous breakdown the other night and just cried. I failed my first test, over diabetes, and it KILLED me. I'm still passing the class, but I'm stressing because ALL I DO IS STUDY and I can't seem to make better grades. We have the midcurricular HESI coming up on June 22nd too and losing sleep over it.
Omg, I am so glad I could help you in any type of way. I looked for these types of videos as a student so I knew I had to make some. I’m going to be posting a video on better study habits. It’s sounds like you might be studying wrong, or having some test anxiety which is so common. If you don’t mind, send me an email and I’ll send you some study tips directly. But look for my next nursing video too. 👍🏽
It’s always annoying to hear people say lpn/lvns are being phased out. I’m constantly hearing people say that but like you said, there are SO MANY job opportunities for lpn/lvn. An older nurse I used to work with told me once that they have been saying LPNs are being phased out since the 70s when she was in school lol
Please I need help , love to go for the LPN program but don't know where and how .as a mum of toddlers and a CNA , I cannot afford to loose my Job... Please will need help with weekend LPN schools around DMV area. Thank you 🙏
Hiii! Do you think that someone who is a bit squeamish should try to become an LPN? Or would a Medical Assistant program be a better option? Some people have told me that LPNs have responsibilities such as bathing patients and assisting them when they go to the bathroom/toilet. Not everyone is comfortable with performing those tasks, but some of us still want to be in the medical field. Do LPNs actually have to do those things? Thank you!!!
Thank you for this video so encouraging! People are so rude the way they talk about LVNs! And what’s funny is it’s usually people that aren’t even in the field talking mess about somebody being a lvn vs. an rn. If lvns were being phased out then there wouldn’t be schools for them still and the programs wouldn’t be impacted. Can you do a video on the experience needed to work in a dermatology office? I’m very Interested in being an lvn for a dermatologist.
Thank you for watching! And yes, it's always people who are not into the medical field! I will definitely do a more in depth video on being a dermatology nurse!
Thank you for your videos. I am going to be applying to nursing school in the next few months. If I could tell you how many times someone sh*ts on me for not going straight for RN.... it seriously sucks. But like you said, LVN is sometimes the more accessible route for a lot of people. I don’t even have kids, either. I just need something more accessible to get into, as RN programs are very hard to get into, especially in CA. Videos like yours help people like us stay positive. Thank you 🙏
Hi thank you so much for your videos. I’m a mom of two under two and am going to take LPN program in the spring next year. I love what you said on the video for balancing study time with family time. What should I study to prepare before I enter the LPN program? Definitely new subscriber here. Thanks again and I hope I can make it.
I think i may consider doing LPN first before going into RN, I think CNA is great but having somewhat of a real experience in LPN would better prepare me than CNA for RN, thank you so much for this video
Justine. I really want to go to start the LVN program but I don’t feel smart enough to get into the program my ex really threw me off from nursing program he would always tell me that I didn’t have what it takes and that I wouldn’t make it through a day being a nurse. That lingers in me sometimes.. any tips to study bc I have problems with anatomy
I am so sorry that you feel this way. I can tell you many nurses probably felt they were not smart enough to become a nurse, I felt this way. I was actually thinking of posting a new “How to study for nursing school” or “Am I smart enough to be a nurse” type video. Believe me, if nursing interests you enough you will really enjoy studying and get concepts. You really have to have a good routine, an outline of how you study and what works for you. I will be posting this video this coming week. Believe in yourself and so it for YOU! You ARE smart enough and can do it if you really want to! 😊
i have a question, i m planning to go forlvnprigram but i heard one of my friends she got her lvn licence, abd she wants to go for RN, she said she could not transfer to other colleges even though her school was an accredited school, she ended up going back to the community college and started everything from the begining even studying lvn again , so this makes me cancerned, what should i do to look for a school so i can transfer to an other college, an other thing about the prerequisites, what s that? and where i m goona study that to get into RN, ?
Yes, that can happen if you go into a program that offers all the pre-reqs to be included into the program itself. For example, they will give you the A&P classes included in your program to get your license. You have to make sure ALL pre-req's are transferable to other colleges!
Do you have tips for juggling being a mom with nursing school im starting lpn school in august and im so nervous to juggle being a mom of a toddler and balance everything
Hi ,Would you be able to do video things to study before starting LVN.I start this coming August but I want to study ahead some material that you can recommend me .Thank you!

I know it can be expensive. Look into your local WIA program they usually help with childcare and cover some school costs as well.
Very motivational. I'm a LPN student, and it is HARD, specially since covid- 19 interfere with a lot of our clinical hrs.
how is it hard?
