    The Plasma Pedal converts incoming audio signals to a beam of "high voltage" electricity (a harmless 3.5kV) in a xenon-filled vacuum tube. Due to the speed and nature of this beam generation, incoming signals are marinated in an extremely percussive, highly irregular, and highly harmonic type of audio distortion, whose character ranges from a smooth vocal-like sustain to a hard-gated fuzzy ruckus. Standard gain, EQ, and output controls supply a generous amount of control over the Plasma Pedal's distortion and fuzz characteristics. There's even a wet-dry Blend control to ensure your source audio stays intact when you crank up the intensity.

    I understand that people say this sounds like a broken, shitty distortion pedal, and they're kind of right, but what I like about this is the ability to control the shittyness/brokenness of the pedal, without having to worry about it completely giving out on you.

    Lo tengo. Con el Marshall jcm600 en canal clean con gain y volumen a las dos del reloj, mucho cuerpo y volumen; el pedal bien ajustado y en un casi full dry( mucho ampli, poco pedal)consigues una rotura fuzzera muy chula complementando el sonido del ampli. Muy chulo. Me compensa su precio por lo que ofrece.

      Not true, you can get really cool tones out of it if you like any degree of velcro. With the blend knob you can get a very nuanced textured tone. It's different, different is good. Let the pedal companies push forward into new territories instead of remaking tube screamers for the umpteenth time.

      Volts dont hurt you, amps do, that's why you can hold jumper cables

    • @Ryan-ro1dg
      @Ryan-ro1dg 4 роки тому +6

      For passive pickups, there's generally less than 1 volt coming from the guitar. This pedal is not sending thousands of volts back to the guitar.
      Also, please don't mess around with jumper cables. The reason you can hold them has to do with how the circuit is being completed and not with the voltage or current. If you mess up the grounding, you can get seriously injured by jumper cables.

      *there
      It uses 9V DC for power. Unless there is some DC to AC component and a transformer, you're not going to get thousands of volts.

    Similar effect to the bias knob on the EHX Cock Fight's fuzz, which starts to stutter like a pedal with a dying battery when you turn it down.

    I bought this exact pedal (demo) version from SW for kicks and its a unique pedal! More versatile than I thought. My buddy is endorsed by the Gamechanger guys and I met them at the Brooklyn pedal show last summer and they are a fun group! Certainly worth a try! If you play to the pedal you can get some really fun sounds. Controls are super sensative so you can certainly dial it down to get more traditional distortion. Chet Atkins licks never sounded so metal! Rock on

    It seems like an incomplete design to me. The clipping and cut effect, while very binary in nature seem too ‘random’ or out of control to be able to effectively explore or utilize the actual effect one is seeking. The design just seems unfinished. Perhaps a good compressor in front of it would be able to get it under control?

      There was a time when people listened to tube overdrive and thought it meant the amplifier was useless. You gotta wait and see what someone creative does with it before you write it off.

    • @JimmyKlef
      @JimmyKlef 4 роки тому +3

      Red Heaven it was credited as used on the new tool album already. Almost certain its on the slide guitar solo on the song “descending” particularly. Almost certain he split his signal and one recorded amp is using the plasma and the other he uses his regular distortion and they are blended. I am guessing on that particularly...but this is method they are known to employ all the time anyway and it sounds exactly like a mix of this pedal and his typical distortion blended together.
      At first i was skeptical of this pedal. But i think the problem is viewing exactly like a distortion pedal and its typical uses. Once i looked at it as just another sound tool to occasionally use, and heard it used on that album, i realized it could definitely have some really cool uses.
      Listen to the song, i think you will agree its used at that part and sounds fantastic.
