  • Some things to look at if you are experiencing a no start issue on just about ANY machine built in the last hundred years. In this case a 2008 Can-Am Outlander 650 XT

Thanks for the Vid. My 2017 wasn't starting, but the starter was spinning, but the Bendix would not engage. Cleaned up the connections, and BOOM!, it fired right up. Thanks again for the guidance.

Not showing speed on screen. Will it prevent (2017 outlander 570 xmr) from going into 4x4?

I have similar issue to IADog. 2019 outlander 450. Click or thud when starter button is pushed. Threw a solenoid at it with same results. 12v to starter and it spins like a champ. Must be wire from starter switch?

i wish i could help you but after going threw everything for a few hours turns out someone had put the wrong key in the dam thing so the key is chipped so wrong key will still turn it over but wont allow it to start .

Did you solve your issue? I have the same problem on a 2019. Push starter and solenoid clicks. Replaced solenoid, still doing same

Have you checked to make sure there's power going to the start switch on the handlebar? Engine wont turn over unless it does get power up there. Jumping the solenoid bypasses the start switch completely and doesn't put power to the ignition system at all. It only makes the starter motor turn.

Well when I hit the start botton I can hear the relay click in as I assume there is power this is on a can-am outlander 2007

@@IADog Ok, so youre getting power to the start button then. But the engine isnt turning over so it sounds like you have a bad solenoid. That still doesnt explain why the engine doesnt start when you jump the solenoid. You seem to have two issues here. I'd check to see if the fuse for the ignition system is blown first. Then start checking wires/plugs and try to find where the power is endning up or perhaps a bad ground wire is the culprit. Those are the 'free' options. After that you may have to look at the CDI box, ignition coil etc...

@@SchnebsGarage just put a new solenoid in with the same results .

@@IADog Ok, is there power out from the solenoid to the wire leading to the starter motor when it clicks?

I have 2008 outlander 400 max 4x4 can am and I’m getting no power to my fuel pump plug in

Check the relay? Not a common failure but it should send power to pump for about 5 seconds after you turn on the key.
