In my years I’ve never skimmed a solid flywheel. The clutch plate has built in springs and dampers to pick up any sort of imperfection from the flywheel surface. Even then we’re talking a friction plate agains solid metal .. so no need.
@@WMCS Thanks for your answer. I'm asking this because i'm planning to do this replacement, because i have a slight vibration from the engine when idling. Otherwise the engine is running fine. And when i'm pulling away, the car judders violently. I have to play with the clutch, or release it very slowly, or give more throttle if i don't want the car to stall. This is only in 1. gear, other gears are fine, when the car is moving, i have no problems with clutch. The clutch has been changed 2 years ago because this judder issue, i thouhght that the clutch was dying since it was still the original. But the replacement was probably a cheap shit from China. I bought a more expensive clutch set, but i don't want to put it in until i find out what is wrong.... Thoughts?

But i have no idea why and how the flywheel can be warped??? BTW i checked all 3 engine mountings, especially the bottom one which is holding the transmission, but they are absolutely fine. Strange. Maybe one of crankshaft bearings is dying? In that case the whole crankshaft would have a little play, causing the vibration of the flywheel... Anyway, i will get a DTI gauge and try to measure, i will be smarter after the transmission is disassembled. Thanks!

Hello everyone, i have one issue with this clutch...changed it, whole kit, and now when i want to start from 1st or reverse by releasing clutch pedal only, slowly, my engine is shaking and jumping...also when i try to burn out tyres a little 😈 add gas pedal to the metal, and fast release clutch pedal, and i have got engine shakings while fast start like that....what is problem with that new clutch? Im driving it about 3000 km for now and its same from day 1...flywheel is not resurfaced, can it be problem, or some instalation mistake...or bad parts!?
The only reason I ask is I always use AP for these cars. I’ve had similar issues in the past and found out it was the thrust bearing ..,, was it doing it before you replaced the clutch
@@WMCS yes but a much more, it was issue with pressure plate, that was original 1st clutch with 190 000 km on it...so, if it is thrust bearing problem, it will never bedd in, thats it? If the thrust bearing locator is slightly out or not sitting true. It will give you a judder. But on hear change only. If it’s constant. Then you’re looking more in the line of pressure plate.

If you did not disconnect the slave cylinder and the piston for it did not pop out and you lose any fluid you won’t have to bleed it out. If that’s the case it sounds like my 1st comment about the release baring on the fork came off.

Hi there I'm missing some nuts and bolds from my previous clutch job...can you help me by telling me the sizes
What make clutch did you use
@@WMCS you mean brand? LUK RepSet ?!
I was hoping it need time to adapt on flywheele or something like that...but after 2500 km its pretty same...so my friend, how much can i drive with clutch like this, safely, can it last long?
If the thrust bearing locator is slightly out or not sitting true. It will give you a judder. But on hear change only. If it’s constant. Then you’re looking more in the line of pressure plate.
Hey man, great video! Nice street job!))) Thx
Milan Lancia thanks for the support on the video. Appreciate it
lifting the gearbox in and out like that we call it the hydraulic belly
Great video!
You are great! How do you keep in mind screws when you put them back? Are there any trick?
label boxes.
use tipex
This is easy to do when you are a real mechanic. You just know where the parts go. No problem.
Brilliant ,Thank You
great job and great videos, but get fat on the thrust bearing pad. over time the friction becomes hard
very interesting video but 2:18 when i saw the rusty under side i got a shock! the spaghetti pump breaks apart in pieces!! in germany the TÜV gives never the sticker!!!
Hi mate, is the same gearbox as Ford ka 1.2 2009?
Yes that’s it.
Hi, done one today, where do they buy their bolts and nuts : 10, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 🤣
Usually you remove the studs, but not this time for the one close to the starter
Thank you 🍻
Honestly the assortment of bolts size drives me nuts. 🔩
For the life of me I can’t understand this Italian spaghetti 🍝
Double pun 😁
Great video mate, is this the exact same process on a diesel? Cheers
Matt Allman
Yes the gearbox process is exactly the same.
The process is always >90% the same in all passenger cars. There's no point in asking such things.
Hi Kevin, would you know if the stilo is same as these can't seem to find anything on my son's fiat stilo 1.4 petrol,,,clutch replacement, cheers john
Sorry Kevin did you reply I can't see anything
@@johncoady9237 All passenger cars are similar. So, what's the "problem" here? Take the tools and just start doing it (repair). Don't wait for specific instructional video (or blog, or fiat forum guide).
There is no problem I was only asking for advice,I done it anyway last week
How much you charge for that job I have 2006 fiat punto
www.williamsmobileclutch.co.uk
I have send the form last night só I'm waiting for your response
Hi mate where exactly are you based? And I’m just wondering if your a mobile mechanic?
ibraheem younas we cover quite a wide range in radius. What’s your postcode please
Bl32lz
ibraheem younas it’s quite out of our coverage area we cover about 70 miles from Bedfordshire.... but if the repair is big enough I’ll definitely make my way up there ...
jooo bro my punto wont shift into fifth gear and reverse
after i changed the clutch
something about my cables
my gearstick is pulling right instead of going central
i can only reach 1, 2, 3 and 4th gear
Are they in the correct slot. Not mixed up or anything.✨✨🍻
@@WMCS what u mean?
السلام عليكوم ورحمة الله تعالى وبركاته
Nice bro!
Viktor Nagy thanks for the feedback
Bravo bravo et bravo
Can you do video of belt change on this model please
Philip Coughlan
I only do Clutches mate.
Search One Life Live it on UA-cam, he does grande punto videos by request, Of you ask him about making a video about changing the timing belt I’m sure he will do one 👍
Hey man I got a question about this and it's stressing me out.
Hey Ollie. ... what’s the question ...
@@WMCS I moved the shift lever on the transmission not the gear selector and I'm not sure which gear it's in now. 🤣😂
One of the other guys tried to help me out
😂
This is the same process at fiat panda 1.2? (2010) . And why you not films the clutch himself replacement ?
The process is almost the same in every passenger car in the world. No point in asking such things.
Super 👌
Thanks a lot !
Hello, good video, I have a Fiat Punto evo 2010 and the same job was done to change the clutch, but now the changes come harder and are not in the same place as before, could you help me?
Byron Gabela is it the gear lever post that’s not in the correct place.
Buen video paso a paso
great courage
its possible to change clutch without gearbox removing. unscrew driveshafts, gearbox. move gearbox from engine a little bit. no need to unscrew arms and remove driveshafts
Dipl100 Qwer that won’t be possible. You may cause damage to the transfer gears if the driveshaft is still in and being forced on.
Great video, followed to the letter but now have a soft clutch pedal and crunches in reverse and hard to select any gears, do I need to bleed the clutch, can anyone help
Declan Edwards sounds like the clutch (fork arm) baring came off when you put the box back on.
If you did not disconnect the slave cylinder and the piston for it did not pop out and you lose any fluid you won’t have to bleed it out.
If that’s the case it sounds like my 1st comment about the release baring on the fork came off.
That gearbox looks a lot like a fiat 500 or KA
This is classic Fiat gearbox (C514... series), design from the 80's. Used in multiple models.
Jesus, look at all that rust...
Carlos Tellier there was quite a bit on that one ... it’s usually dry rust from the clutch plate... thanks for visiting the channel and for the feedback...
Pig of a job for something so simple. Nicely done though mate. My gear selector is leaking so that's a gearbox out job. Might as well do the clutch too.
nice one cheers
Nice joob good boos 💪
Top
Thanks.
Where is clutch replacement? You just took transmission out and back in.
These were the early days videos.
Have a look though the channel for actual clutch replacement
@@WMCS Thanks I just did. Great job man.
Looks so easy but it is not, can't believe that any bolt wasn't seezed/rusted
Atetus94 definitely plenty of WD40 to start with
It IS easy. This is simple car, perfect for DIY.
Omg what a rust
I wonder why the plastic engine and wheel-well shields are missing. They cover the entire lower area and specifically protect the engine from water/slush/snow :)
@@VortechBand Because it depends on the engine type, version. Some were equipped with shields, some not (originally, from the factory). Adding them is up to user.
How much does the gearbox on this car weigh?
About 40-50KG roughly.
@@WMCS Damn, thats more than I thought. How you lift it out, it looks like 25kg or so. I am a skinny guy hence I will need company to replace the clutch it seems
Done mine few months ago (faulty gearbox swap, not clutch). Weight is only 30 kg!
