I tried a few different pickups in my Jackson Dinky over the years before purchasing my S1.6 FRBLB and I'm frankly blown away by the sound of the stock Solar pickups. They're pretty much giving me exactly what I've always been looking for. I honestly can't picture myself ever bothering to swap them out for something else. It's actually kind of nice to be able to buy a guitar and not have to put any more money into it to get the sound that I want.
I've love that finish and have been really tempted to get a Solar! Several of my friends have been raving about Juggernauts for awhile and I think I may have to hop on board : ) Thanks for the vid- I'm glad you included plenty of clean playing...helpful w/ the decision!
Love the tone! Wanted to ask you if you noticed that Solar started making the S1.6 in poplar burl again... As an owner of the LTD guitar in the same finish, this was pretty upsetting. Thoughts?
If the statement released from Xavier with Solar Guitars is true, then the factory over produced the LTD models and the “Non LTD” models you see for sale are the left over guitars. To be perfectly honest, as soon they made the 7 string and baritone versions of this it ceased to be “limited” to me, what made them limited was the beautiful poplar burl finish.
Interesting. When I asked about this through Solar’s website, Xavier told me basically ‘no, they’re different because they don’t have the dot inlays, and didn’t come with a certificate or gig bag” 🙄 Was hoping I wasn’t the only one who noticed this and was frustrated. Anyway, keep up the great content, man!
Didn't notice the new ones didn't come with dot inlays or gig bag. Weird thing is I got the second batch of the LTD but it didn't come with a certificate
Abel Hernandez you play such cool riffs and nice tones, how long do you play guitar? that’s true, I have on each one of my guitars Bare Knuckle Pickups! The best what you can get! Again about the LTD Series... I ordered on the Solar hompage an S1.6 PB, in thought without dot inlays on 3,5,7.. fret as in description it was written “no position marker dots”. What I got it was one with theses dot inlays and fortunately a gigbag. So lucky me, I think I‘ve got an LTD instead of a normal one!? Unfortunately also without certificate... can you explain me thats again, I didn’t get what you already discussed with the other guy.. greez from Switzerland
The S1.6 you received was a left over from the Ltd series. they made to many so they ship the left overs with no certificate. you can send Solar an email and Xavier will explain it to you aswell. Thank you for the kind words!
Abel Hernandez ok thank you for the answer.. aah thats why... little bit sad because I wanted the one without Dots like I had ordered on their website because they would look for me a bit more „aggressive“.. but in the endeffect it‘s nice that I got an LTD with a GigBag.. :)
Do you ever find that your fingers / part of your thumb hit strings ever so slightly you're not intending on playing? Mainly just the top string (with your picking hand)
@@d77sauce having the BLACKHAWKs everything is just diferent. Trust me on this because is true. 81 85 emg are an extremely good pickups I mean the best in the market since their being built. Hope this helped with your question.
Rui Buíça thanks so much. That’s awesome you’ve been able to try so many great sounds. I understand, they’re all just different flavors to get you to where you want to go. How do you find the fishman vs the bareknuckle? I’m getting a guitar with moderns in it but I was gonna swap for the TOSIN ABASI set. Hey Abel! 🤘 Please let me know, what cpu and how many gigs ram in your mac? I’m about to buy a used one and just would like to be sure it will be powerful enough for running plugin like you use.
Thank you for the great demo. It has informed me that between the Juggernauts and the Evertune, the tone seems very dull compared to the several guitars I have tried with Juggs (Arisitides, Jackson sign models, Ibanez) which for the record also sounded very blanket-over-a-tissue-box to me.

Even better sounding guitar with those pickups and great playing. 🤘
Sounding good with the bareknuckle, the original pickups are still solid pickups though!
I have a Solar A1.6 LTD and want to put the Bare Knuckles Aftermath
believe me man, that's going to be good. i'm using washburn solar with the same specs and put a set of aftermath pickups and it's awesome :D
Thanks that was tight . Did you check out the lace deathbucker..
Awesome! Will get a pair of mine soon.
Bro Solar is fucking ridiculous!
Tuning ?
The original pickups based on the Duncan SH5?
Anyway, those BK's seem to really compliment that guitar.
The original pickups I believe are based off of a custom 5, and a 59’.
Would be be nice to hear this guitar with Nazgul / Sentient.
Inspiring, great technique!

Hey Abel Hernandez, is that the Solar model S1.6PB-27 with the 27 inch scale length and evertune bridge?
It’s not, it is the S1.6PBM ET LTD 25.5 inch scale with the Evertune.
@@AbelHernandezguitar actually, de 25,5 doesnt position dots, can you ask to paint them?
Wow that's pickup amazing.. very tight and punchy..
Did you use wah on this video?
Thanks! and no I did not use a wah.
He goes for a mid pushed tone...almost has a cocked wah character to it.
Nice vid man!
Hey what would you expect about Bare Knuckle Painkillers whith that Mahagoni body? I just ordered some with the camouflage shield ;)
I’m sure anything from Bare Knuckle is going to sound very good. 🤘

Sounds crushing dude, tight as fuck
Sick playing lad, tight af. How did you find fitting these in your guitar, any clearance issues?
I did, the mounting rails on the pickups had to be modified to get them in the solar.
Do you ever find that your fingers / part of your thumb hit strings ever so slightly you're not intending on playing? Mainly just the top string (with your picking hand)
Much better than those duncon pickups
Hola amigo se nota mucho la calidad de las bare alas seymour?saludos
Bare knukcle tene mas defenition
Which drums are u using?
I have the 27” scale which I just received. I want to get new bare knuckles for it. With the evertune did you have to get the f spaced?
Just an advice. I have both bare knuckle BLACKHAWK and silo killer pickups.
