    I tried a few different pickups in my Jackson Dinky over the years before purchasing my S1.6 FRBLB and I'm frankly blown away by the sound of the stock Solar pickups. They're pretty much giving me exactly what I've always been looking for. I honestly can't picture myself ever bothering to swap them out for something else. It's actually kind of nice to be able to buy a guitar and not have to put any more money into it to get the sound that I want.

    I've love that finish and have been really tempted to get a Solar! Several of my friends have been raving about Juggernauts for awhile and I think I may have to hop on board : ) Thanks for the vid- I'm glad you included plenty of clean playing...helpful w/ the decision!

    The original pickups based on the Duncan SH5?

    Love the tone! Wanted to ask you if you noticed that Solar started making the S1.6 in poplar burl again... As an owner of the LTD guitar in the same finish, this was pretty upsetting. Thoughts?

    • @AbelHernandezguitar
      @AbelHernandezguitar  5 років тому +1

      If the statement released from Xavier with Solar Guitars is true, then the factory over produced the LTD models and the “Non LTD” models you see for sale are the left over guitars. To be perfectly honest, as soon they made the 7 string and baritone versions of this it ceased to be “limited” to me, what made them limited was the beautiful poplar burl finish.

    • @unkulunkulu8842
      @unkulunkulu8842 5 років тому +1

      Interesting. When I asked about this through Solar’s website, Xavier told me basically ‘no, they’re different because they don’t have the dot inlays, and didn’t come with a certificate or gig bag” 🙄 Was hoping I wasn’t the only one who noticed this and was frustrated.
      Anyway, keep up the great content, man!

      Abel Hernandez you play such cool riffs and nice tones, how long do you play guitar? that’s true, I have on each one of my guitars Bare Knuckle Pickups! The best what you can get! Again about the LTD Series... I ordered on the Solar hompage an S1.6 PB, in thought without dot inlays on 3,5,7.. fret as in description it was written “no position marker dots”. What I got it was one with theses dot inlays and fortunately a gigbag. So lucky me, I think I‘ve got an LTD instead of a normal one!? Unfortunately also without certificate... can you explain me thats again, I didn’t get what you already discussed with the other guy.. greez from Switzerland

    • @AbelHernandezguitar
      @AbelHernandezguitar  5 років тому +1

      The S1.6 you received was a left over from the Ltd series. they made to many so they ship the left overs with no certificate. you can send Solar an email and Xavier will explain it to you aswell. Thank you for the kind words!

    • @pleckdrum
      @pleckdrum 5 років тому

      Abel Hernandez ok thank you for the answer.. aah thats why... little bit sad because I wanted the one without Dots like I had ordered on their website because they would look for me a bit more „aggressive“.. but in the endeffect it‘s nice that I got an LTD with a GigBag.. :)

      Rui Buíça how do you like the Silo?

    • @Buica-4
      @Buica-4 4 роки тому +1

      @@d77sauce having the BLACKHAWKs everything is just diferent. Trust me on this because is true. 81 85 emg are an extremely good pickups I mean the best in the market since their being built. Now days you have Modern tone that means more definition but with the same bark . That's why I love bare knuckle. Some people dont and I dont understand as you start your quality sound from your pickups ,amp and then pedals. I did play with my silo and I love it. It feels right tight and defined maybe a bit more colour on the silo and Blackhawks more transparent??? I do also have Fishman pickups and I find the passive pickups(bare knuckle) suitable for me. Hope this helped with your question.

    • @d77sauce
      @d77sauce 4 роки тому

      Rui Buíça thanks so much. That’s awesome you’ve been able to try so many great sounds. I understand, they’re all just different flavors to get you to where you want to go. How do you find the fishman vs the bareknuckle? I’m getting a guitar with moderns in it but I was gonna swap for the TOSIN ABASI set. I wanted to try something passive but I figured going from active to passive is a lot of work

    • @Buica-4
      @Buica-4 4 роки тому +1

      @@d77saucenow days passive pickups are extremely damn good and loud. It is a bit difficult at least for me to compare certain pickups as my guitars are different too. But both bare knuckles and fishman are amazing. Just think of this who plays with fishman? Right people who like to solo or have that strings to sound individually clear. Normally in studio or band you would make the guitar with not so clear for heavy riffs and clear for solos. Like bridge vs neck . I always like to play in drop tune and plaay melodies on top of chords to do that you want all the notes to sound separately from each other. I must say bare or fishman you will choose it will be monstrous tone. I prefer to use passive pickups it feels like I can make my sound better faster also no need to change batteries???? Ha one question , does the batteries with time change the sound quality? Or? I just know that the bare knuckle Blackhawks are clean and EXTREMELY LOUD I love them also the silo. If I would buy a diferent pickups I probably buy other bare knuckles.

    Thank you for the great demo.
    It has informed me that between the Juggernauts and the Evertune, the tone seems very dull compared to the several guitars I have tried with Juggs (Arisitides, Jackson sign models, Ibanez) which for the record also sounded very blanket-over-a-tissue-box to me.
