Тhere is a difference , but the sound of this demo ... as if a mosquito were singing in my ear . If this is the understanding of modern sound, then I have to be a robot
Great video Dave. I too prefer the ceramic BH. Seems like a perfect Bare Knuckle pickup. Its a bit more natural and sweet than the Aftermaths - a bit more low mids and smoother bite, but I love them to death too. Btw, were you boosting that Mesa with an overdrive or a low cut eq? Cheers
@@DaveKlussmann hehe.. Yeah.. Well I'm getting one. My amps sound a bit different throughout the day. Also, you can get some more squish out of the amp if need be... Or less.
@@DaveKlussmann the Alnico is a bit warmer and perhaps has more low-end.. Or it just comes out that way due to less high end. The Juggernaut has combination ceramic/alnico magnets in there... I've always been curious to how they're set up, but I don't want to take my juggs apart just to find out. Maybe if they were $80 each. 😂 Anyhow, the Alnico Blackhawks seem to be the most purring pickups out there, but it seems your juggs purr more than your ceramic Blackhawks... Interesting... Kind of an expensive endeavor to test all these things out! I might just have to buy Alnico Blackhawks to find out.
@@XChristianNoirX your description of the alnico versus ceramic BH is accurate ... I have two alnico versions and one ceramic, and have tried them in various guitars. The ceramic has a quite strident high end in the wrong guitar, but has a very tight bottom end with less low mids. The feel is different, a bit closer to the Juggernaut but with less honk. A purr is exactly how I would describe the low mids of the alnico BH. I prefer the alnico BH and the Impulse to the ceramic Black Hawk. I also have a Cobra-T which I have only recently installed in a Squier Contemporary Telecaster RH and I am liking that a lot now that I have the wiring sorted out.
@@XlouietheflyX the cobra T.. Isn't that a single coil? I have a Tele and use a dual blade pickup in it, but it's humbucking. It's based on the Tone Zone, but has the low resonance a bit lower. In fact, I find Juggernauts sound a lot like Tone Zones, but the Tone Zone is a little more hairy in the high end. The pickup I have is kinda like that, but a little more juicy. Anyhow, I just got an Alnico Blackhawk I will try soon.
black hawk better clean more musical but there so close high gain the juggernuat more like a evil violin type sound both punchy this is intersting this new neo metal type playing
Probably the best comparison out on UA-cam, thanks mate! Completely sold on Black Hawks now haha
The Black Hawks sound really nice in this guitar
thanks for the vid. check that buzz on the bottom string. that gtr needs a setup
I really did not hear any differences in the rhythm tones that can't be addressed by a simple EQ adjustment. They both sound equally tight and punchy.

@dimitarneshev9182 yeah it is a bit wasps in a jar.
Helpful to me - thanks!
low E string needs higher action. dies out immediately
Really good job bro!!
Your tone is too good, how come I cant figure out how to make this kind of tone despite having a 5150iii stealth and a precision drive lol

Thanks for commenting! I boosted the amp with a Fulltone OCD model and 10 band EQ with a low cut from my Helix, forgot to mention that in the video!
Great video dude
Yeah don't you hate that on windy days my dual rec is always turning into a Marshall Plexi maybe I need to go digital too 😂
Thank you for this awesome comparison. Have you tried the alnico version? How would you compare it to the impulse?
Thanks for watching! Sadly I haven't been able to try the alnico version or the impulse, so I can't say. I'd love to try them though!
Is that chord progression based on Giorgio Moroder's Scarface theme?
Hi brother Dave what are you using cab IR currently?
Redwirez Orange 4x12 SM7B!
@@DaveKlussmann how about Panda cab??
I am considering about ir which one sound right for Line6 helix
“Take the time” Dream theater cover as a pickup demo!!! Lol
One of my favourite chord progressions 😅
To get the amp to be more stable, get a variac.
First test your outlets throughout the day for a week and see what the voltages swings are.
I probably overstated that part to be fair, I just wanted to eliminate any extra factors that might change the sound for a fair test 😅

That rhythm riff ? Sounds like Olly’s untitled
Are the Balckhawks Alnico or Ceramic?
Ceramic! Should've mentioned that in the video, I forgot it was an option 😅

@@XlouietheflyX what would you prefer out of the alnico bh and the impulse?
Blackhawk has got more gain and more of a low end. Actually reminds of sd blackouts but with more clarity.
The juggernaut is almost alnico like
5:45 6:05
The Black Hawks sound so… tidy. I prefer the Black Hawk neck but the Juggernaut bridge.
the coil split sounds WAY better on the Jugg.

So I'm not crazy , my amp does sound diffrenr day to day I reckon anyways
Day to night anyways
Blackhawks sounded better in all sections :)
А разницы никакой ) в одном месте джегурнаут зудит на верхах и все ..
The farting sound of low E kills me. Fix your guitar.
