GM Fuel level sensor reading incorrect!!

After we had fixed an evap leak on this old Cadillac now customer has issue with fuel level sensor replacement. Not sure what he deal is on this unit but the new one works. I replaced the connector that came with the new one just in case but no codes for open or high voltage codes. This is what you get sometimes with aftermarket parts. I couldn't find any issue with the other techs work either pump was installed correctly from what i could see. All his wiring went to the right pins. Parts store warrantied the part with different brand now all is good.
