Lyrics:
Mercy like a gun when you’ve come undone
I’ve awoken in the hour that receives no one
The sound of a tribe will shake me out until sunrise
The heat of tomorrow released as the wind blows
A beating stare from all the tribe
No sleep tonight
The howl from below
The wolf and the soaring crow
Am I losing control?
Am I losing all of control?
All spirits entrance
I toss and turn in no romance
From six under the grass the prison breaks like glass
Stripped of all the air in my lungs now
Flee from the walls
So alone
Stampede in the room like a buffalo
Raise me up in my throes
The howl from below
The wolf and the soaring crow
Am I losing control?
Am I losing all of control?
All spirits entrance
I toss and turn in no romance
From six under the grass the prison breaks like glass
Upon the burial lie thieves of their past
Firewater
Tenacious
Upon the burial ground
Between the living and the dead we move
Between the living and the dead we all move
Shift all placement, but they’re sifting you
Between the living and the dead we all move
The claim we stake
A land within our wake
A Garden in the bones
A headdress down in the soil we own
We build it on the bullshit or build it upon the burial
A Garden in the bones
A headdress down in the soil we own
Stripped of all the air in my lungs now
Feeling so alone
Stampede in the room like buffalo
Feeling so low
Pull out all the ground from below
You’ve given quite a show
Stampede in the room like buffalo
Raise me up in my throes
The howl from below
The wolf and the soaring crow
Am I losing control?
Am I losing all of control?
All spirits entrance
I toss and turn in no romance
From six under the grass the prison breaks like glass
Upon the burial lie thieves of their past
Firewater
Tenacious
Upon the burial ground
Between the living and the dead we move
Mercy like a gun

Really happy with how this little ditty came out. Enjoy this one with a nice set of headphones and an especially comfy chair. #hailsatan

Good stuff
the guitar solo on this song is killer, Misha! You have a distinct phrasing and a very tasteful vibrato! Definitely one of your best solos alongside Luck as a Constant and Absolomb
This made my entire week. It's such a cool song!
Misha, do you guys use the creamback for the distorted guitars at all?
I can feel the power of the hoodie v-neck flow through the new kit
hahhahahahaa
Crack up 😂
It sounds so fucking massive

Whoever thinks Periphery would be better without a vocalist, you're just objectively wrong. The melodies and vocal harmonies in this song are second to none.
Def agreed
Amen brother.
Spencer carries this song. Without him, it would just be another rock song. He really uses his range and dynamics to compliment the song.
honestly when their first album dropped... i hated spencer's voice. by the time periphery 2 came out, it had grown on me. after i spun that album relentlessly, i was just fucking hooked.
I think an instrumental version would be quite cool though
Periphery has been my favorite band for years, and throughout all this time, they’ve never disappointed me a single time. I love them so much.
Same, dude. I haven't seen them live as much as I'd like, but the 2nd and, last time, I got to meet them and had them sign my Juggernaut vinyl. Probably my most prized possession.
Right? Theyre incredible lmao, btw, happy that g2 won invitational? Lolol
They da best
DITLONAY Yeah, but the G2 CS team is disappointing me.
@@kohlmagness6746 ahh yeah, i havent looked into their cs team as much

It's gonna be hard to beat The Contortionist's new EP
@@returntolifeband wait, what ep?!
So.. you gonna cover it or nah?
@@crowing3886 they have a new EP coming out this year. During their last NA tour they played all of it to meet & greet people.
@@returntolifeband they only played one new song and the smashing pumpkins cover when I saw them in Seattle
You guys talking about Buffalo’s is pretty cool, I always thought buffalos are very djent.

I live in Oklahoma on the plains. This song speaks to us
@@unqualifiedproductions1275 People listen to Periphery in Oklahoma?!
😅
This band is like a fine wine... they just keep getting better with age.
This is why Periphery is my favorite band. Every song is so unique, never the same generic tune you hear from most other artists. Can’t wait to see you guys in Silver Spring next month
4 years later here. How was the show?

You're kickin off storms here buddy, picturesque storms.
The emotion and energy in Spencer's voice is something I haven't been able to find in almost any other artists. His voice has stuck with me since he showed his full potential on 2, and it's a power and passion I've yearned for in all my other music, especially the clean stuff.
Can't wait for a "Behind the Mix" from Nolly. Love it.
Im sorry my dude nolly quit awhile ago
@@ballzd33precords54 he is still the engineer
@@o.w.sproductions1873 - I believe he also tracked bass for the album, just as with P3.
@@ballzd33precords54 He quit touring. HE still mixes and does the bass tracks etc.
@@tracerbullet44 he isn't an official member of the band at all either. He had no creative input on P4.
Spencer really kills this album. Every second he makes the absolute most of. He is one of my favorite all time singers at this point.
An incredible song, but, from 3:05 to 4:30... Man, the time stops, I travel to somewhere, no time, no place... It's magic, that voice over that musical base, dinamyc, loud, progressive... One of the greatest 90 seconds I've ever heard and felt... Congratulations from Spain.
couldn't say it better my friend!
3:30 I love how they re-use parts of other songs (here, Reptile). It goes so well.
best thing they could ever do
When i heard it the first time my jaw fucking dropped
Never heard this band before Spotify threw this song into my Playlist. God damn, this song hit me like ton of bricks! Heavy, groovy, and the production is on point. Absolutely raw emotion and passion in the vocals. You definitely earned a new fan today.
Getting those juggernaut:alpha vibes right here
those are the best vibes
Same
I got a blend of Alpha and Remain Indoors
Same. Alpha + Omega are my fave periphery albums to date.
a relief after the slight worry of p3
Those vocals and that solo, oh mama...
This drum sound is perfection..
Agreed. Just listen to Matt's drum playthrough of this and listen to that snare pop
Perfect combination of heavy and melodic elements on this one! Pre-ordered Hail Stan.
3:05 it wouldn't be a Periphery album if it didn't have a repeating theme 😊 Reptile is amazing!
i noticed it too
3:04
Arguably the best song on the album, the interlude starting at 3:03 has one the most beautiful clean riffs ive ever heard
Agreed, it has this magical and tranquil feeling, before smoothly transitioning into the more heavy tone, while still maintaining the emotion of the start of the interlude is just beautiful
This album is shaping up to be epic.
Favorite band of all time. So keen to get the whole album and sit down with it.
Next song: Periphery - Chillin' at Misha's house.
lmao
hahahahahahaahahahahahaha
Indeed
Just listened to this on Spotify. One of my favorite periphery songs now.
How? No Periphery or Veil of Maya will play on my Spotify so I thought they took their stuff down?
I love the way they matured and stayed true to themselves. They truly are unique.
2:16 Is stuck in my head and wont leave, that sound!!!!! I love it... Thank you Periphery
ey yay ey yi
I think P4 is shaping up to be a culmination of everything Periphery has done. 3 years is a long time for a group this skilled in writing and with their own label, they have no bounds. I think this very well could be their best album yet based on the first 2 singles. Guest vocals? Fuck yeah. I hope there’s gonna be a guest solo now.
Didn't John Petrucci guest solo'd on Erised from P2?
Lance Perez he did
The section from 2:16-3:06 takes me to another world, and section after that uses the guitars and vocals to build up and release tension beautifully. I am obsessed with this song
I listen to this song at least once a day, and it still gives me chills every single time.
I'm turning 43 this year and the 2 new songs made me feel 25 all over again! But please, if I fall during one of their live shows, help my old ass up! Thanks in advance! \m/ :) \m/
HUGE Periphery fan, here. One of my favorite bands of all time. This song has topped their entire discography, for me. Am I alone in this??
I remember the day this came out. It hit me like an emotional freight train. Still does. These songs are like mental and emotional bottles of memories for me.
5:15-5:20
Thank you, Spencer. That was some The OA-level emotion. Can't get over it.
Ilian Petit hell yeah dude. I was trying to see if somebody else loved that part. I love how emotional this high pat is.
This song is genuinely perfect. It's been a favorite of mine since its release and I still come back to it regularly. It feels powerful, passionate, and at this point, familiar.
This song needs to be played live, that ending is killer.
I in no way dislike Blood Eagle, but this song makes me waaaaay more excited for Hail Stan.
Totally agree. Blood Eagle is heavy and awesome, but this has so much more weight behind it, imo.
Same here, after hearing Blood Eagle and this song I'm very excited because the new album is gonna have variety
I feel the exact opposite. Blood Eagle is punishingly heavy, which is what I want from this band, and this song is mediocre (for them) and kinda weak. /shrug Solo is excellent and the vocals are there but the riffage and tempo are meh.
@@jollyvoqar195 That's fair. I tend to like more mellow songs anyway, so it makes sense that this one reaches me more. Blood Eagle, to me, just didnt seem as well constructed or unique as a lot of their previous heavier tracks. I've always like how much Periphery didnt really sound like anyone else, and Blood Eagle almost felt like it was just another metal song any band could have come out with. It's still a great song, just less exciting.
Rachel Tootle the drumming has always been what sold me on this song. It’s my favorite Periphery song mainly due to that. I love the vocals and guitar melodies too of course, but the drumming is the “it” factor.
Been listening to this the whole day ever since it came out on Spotify
damn, still nothing on apple music. :(
Spencer Sotello is the number one vocalist to make you feel dumb for questioning their changing style. This band is a real musical marvel.
I love Periphery and it's fan base. They've never put out a bad album and I think most fans would agree wholeheartedly.
It Make Thick In the Warm

I'm just glad to be here with all of my friends

I'm a simple man
I see a new Periphery song, I click the like button
Periphery just keeps getting better and better with every album release. So pumped to hear HAIL STAN in it's entirety
Guys... this song blows my freaking mind. Everything about it is outstanding. This song made a fan out of me.
this song made my year
Man, it's something about these last singles (BE and GitB), but it seems like Periphery's sound has matured. Like, it was explosive in its infancy, started gaining focus, eventually reaching this. Unbelievable.
When other heavy bands started going completely soft for totally-not-monetary reasons, you guys stayed true to yourselves and your music (even though you guys had just as much reason to do the same).
Thanks for that.
They've said multiple times in the studio vids that they don't think about fans when writing, they just write for themselves and try to do their best, and I think that's what every band should do. I've loved every single album they've made so far, they just make such good music.
I know exactly what you mean... looks at Btbam. What happened to tracks like All Bodies, Astral Body, Selkies etc...?
Periphery has stuck to their own roots and added a bunch of things in to the mix so it’s different for everyone!
I haven't been on board with Periphery for a long time now and I think this album Is bringing me back.
Я не знаю о чем эта музыка , но это кайф , пожалуйста продолжайте , это вау для ушей , просто восторг !!!!
There's a buffalo STANpede in my pants right now! Love the vibe of this one.
Be sure to take a shower and run your pants through the wash
Man, this track sinks it's claws in nice a deep, where it can reach my soul. I can almost feel its warmth soothing me in this cold void.
I was unsure by the first half, but they sold me on the second half. Stellar work guys!
This song is like crack. I’ve listened to it 9 times in the last 2 days. An absolute masterpiece that somehow does everything right.
My personal thanks to you lads for making this
This is Periphery I felt in love with!
you felt?
we all felt.
I felt once.
It was awful.
Periphery never really changed .... they always kept heaviness and there soft songs to they never changed accept maybe a few lead stuff but nothing really that noticeable that’s my oppinion though been a fan since periphery didn’t even have a singer and were experimental
Perfect song. Love this side of Periphery - the combination of melody and aggression. Hope there will more tracks like this one on the new record. Ordered it anyway...
People are really starting to pick up on this band. Last night, I was blasting this through my stereo and not only did my neighbours start screaming and drumming along after a while, but even the police came to take a listen.
My favourite style of Spence by far. Amazing song
Now that's like a Periphery material with some Tesseract like feels 😍. Insane guitar tone !!
This song really speaks to my soul. It's almost indescribable
Absolutely beautiful I'm so happy with how this albums turning out so far
I'm totally in love with this song. Great vibe. Something I just adore - heaviness mixed with space and harmony. So cool!!!
Loving every second of this song. The guitar tone sounds so sexy! Periphery never fails. HAIL STAN
this combines everything so masterfully. heartbreaking melody and facemelting grooving heavyness, soaring chorus, brilliant production... Spencer never sounded better, theres basically room for all of them, beautiful aching lyrics, 100% fitting misha-solo, unbelievable cymbal-sound... the composition is just mindblowingly good.
i feel nothing but thankfulness and love for you guys. there were only a few times in my life, when i knew and was totally convinced that an upcoming album will be groundbreaking. i believe in P4!
Holy Shit. What an absolute beast of a song this is.
Props, Periphery. This is beautiful stuff.
Matt absolutely murdered this track!! So many interesting nuances in his style. His playing has matured so much and perfectly fits the music
I don't know why but I have a really strong connexion with this band. Every album lights up something in me. With this song in specific, before I saw any artwork, I pictured the fucking exact same color scheme as the official artwork for this song. I love this band so much man.
I can't stop listen to it, I'm inside an infinite loop with this one
Oh fuck yes. This is going to be a wild ass album
Awesome track guys!! Spencer sounds KILLER!! Even more than usual. Can't wait for the whole album.
Damn they've finally made an album where I can say for sure I like every song off of it. I'm really liking their direction as they keep getting better.
Same! The only other album they've done that really grabbed me was P2, but damn P4 is hitting all the high notes ❤️

Nice contrast to Blood Eagle. Looking forward to the album.
Struggled with Spencer's clean vocals on previous albums, but there's something about this I really enjoy. Excited for this release.
Man I really disliked his clean vocals in the past when I didn't listen much to Periphery, however this album turned my opinion around. There's something in both his vocal development and the mastering/sound of the album that makes him shine!

Blood Eagle was a fun track, but THIS is the Periphery I've grown to love over the years.
PS: Is Spencer even human?
Now these are the type of Periphery vocals I'm a fan of! Your loud distorted cleans are amazing!

I'm pretty sure it's about the slaughtering of Indian people which makes it odd 😂

Bob Jones Since Blood Eagle is about the Vikings, I’m guessing this album’s theme is bloody events throughout history. That just makes me like this album so much more.
