Don’t discount those of us with southern accents! Most of us are converts. If the Baptists hadn’t been such jerks, I would not have found the true church! We are loyal, drive 4 hours to the Temple but our testimonies are strong and sure. And we are all armed 😂😂😇 here in the mountains of NC.

Agreed. I understand where they’re going with the satire and criticism of this idiot, but it’s not very nice to make fun of people because of the way they speak because people cannot necessarily help where they grew up or how they learned to speak. This is my one and only criticism that I am going to throw at these guys in full force because they need to take this one on the chin. It does not represent the church And it does not represent church members well when you criticize other people because of their differences. Christ never did that. It is not Christlike to criticize others because of where they are from or to make caricatures and use excessively colorful language to be right, and diminish other people. This is the type of thing that drove me away from the church many years ago and I don’t like seeing it here. I am from the south, and I have a lot of buried, devout Christian ancestors. Some of them were Baptist and others were from other faiths, including Catholic. My mother was a convert, but because of the ridiculousness and self centered and device of nature of all the social clicks in the church many years ago, I went away from the church, and fell into many years of apostasy and living a bad lifestyle, partially because people in the church who ridiculed me for who I was, drove me away because of their Conceitedness. I made the choice on my own a few years ago to head back into the church because I realized it wasn’t about other people. It was about the Lord and his word and the truth. There are still people that I meet at church that I don’t like because of the way that they treat other people but that is between them andheavenly father. I will worry about me and they can worry about themselves. Please don’t make characters about people from other parts of the country, though guys… It’s not very becoming.

@@Goobicon4507 the thing to remember is that a lot of the people who immigrated to the southern half of North America during the time of early America history did so, because they just wanted to live the simple lives of farmers, have their own piece of land and be able to live in peace, and raise a family. they didn’t want conflict or war or taxes or being ruled and oppressed the way their ancestors had been. A number of them became friends and neighbors with the Native American people that were in the area, while others lashed out in fear of having what little they had just gotten taken away from them, even though they were living on someone else’s land, technically. My ancestors came to North America in 1678. I am a direct descendent of many families that were so-called “colonizers “that came here because they were being oppressed or had nothing left in the “old world” so they took a chance and came to a land they did not know. They were Christians, they were farmers, locksmiths, carpenters, planters, craftsmen, sailors, and merchants. They explored the New World and found that it was not new at all. Only new to them. I am proud to be descended from so many people who were so courageous and risked everything to come here. Many times they have rest much to stand up for what they believed was important. That kind of spirit is what made the United States of America. The opposite kind of spirit is what is tearing it apart and watering it down turning it into a week and wicked nation, which goes directly against what the Lord said we should do. If people have not picked up on the very severe warnings that we are being given right now, then they do not have eyes to see nor ears to hear, and they are a wicked and abominable generation that will get what is coming to them. That includes people in the church, who are worse than the rest. They have knowledge and a certain level of understanding or at least they are supposed to… That others do not have. Maybe I’m wrong about that. After all of the versions are going to be welcomed into the marriage feast. Those odds are pretty shocking. I have known a number of people in the church that do not represent the values of Christ, nor are they my friends because I do not keep company with serpents that speak with a fork tongue. There are also wonderful people in the church who are exactly the type of people that Christ loves. We should all be thinking about which one we are. It doesn’t matter whether you live in the north, the south, the east, the west, America, or Canada, or any other nation. What matters is where your heart is. Is your heart with the Lord, or is it in the world?

Meanwhile, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is stronger than ever. Inactives are returning, many that left altogether are returning and being rebaptized (like me), and convert baptisms are higher than it’s been in years. They are threatened. Many evangelicals state that we started it by Joseph being told that "all other religions" were an abomination. But that is not accurate at all.
If you read it closely, the words Christ used were "their creeds" were an abomination.
He did not infer that the people, the leaders, or the religious sects themselves were an abomination.
    We are grateful for then
Love and devotion to the Savior that individuals from all Christ loving people have. Truth does not belong to one religion. Truth is truth and belongs to all people.
We love the restoration, and are happy to share our joy and passion for it. But we also allow others to worship as they my, and our kindness, love, and compasions have no baring on individuals decision to join the church in the timeline we think they should. God knows where all of us are. And His desire is to save all His children that will be saved.

@@joshvaughan3403 The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has the authority of God and more truth with the full Gospel (to date, even though the Lord will continue to reveal more as we are ready). However, every religion and denomination has some truth. Truth does belong to everyone, but not everyone is willing to accept further truth beyond that which they have.
The abomination of the Nicene Trinity is the main creedal abomination that Jesus Christ noted. It was added to scripture in the 4th century and further developed over the next 1000 years. It is not scriptural. The One (or The Other) of Plato was wed to the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost at Nicea and beyond. I used to believe that concept of God as a Catholic and then Evangelical until I found out how non-scriptural that is. Here is a number of quotes from non-Church of Jesus Christ scholars who have done some excellent studies on the topic:
It is clearly impossible (if one accepts historical evidence as relevant at all) to escape the claim that the later formulations of dogma cannot be reached by a process of deductive logic from the original propositions and must contain an element of novelty.
Wiles, Making of Christian Doctrine, p. 4.
The emergence of the full trinitarian doctrine was not possible without significant modification of previously accepted ideas.
Wiles, Making of Christian Doctrine, p. 144.
there is no trinitarian doctrine in the Synoptics or Acts.
(in the New Testament) nowhere do we find any trinitarian doctrine of three distinct subjects of divine life and activity in the same Godhead.
in John there is no trinitarian formula.
Edmund J. Fortman, The Triune God: A Historical Study of the Doctrine of the Trinity, pp. 14, 16, 29.
These passages give no doctrine of the Trinity, but they show that Paul linked together Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They give no trinitarian formula...but they offer material for the later development of trinitarian doctrine.
...(Paul) has no formal trinitarian doctrine and no clearcut realization of a trinitarian problem, but he furnishes much material for the later development of a trinitarian doctrine.
Edmund J. Fortman, The Triune God: A Historical Study of the Doctrine of the Trinity, pp. 22-23.
There is no formal doctrine of the Trinity in the New Testament writers, if this means an explicit teaching that in one God there are three co-equal divine persons. But the three are there, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and a triadic ground plan is there, and triadic formulas are there....The Biblical witness to God, as we have seen, did not contain any formal or formulated doctrine of the Trinity, any explicit teaching that in one God there are three co-equal divine persons.
Edmund J. Fortman, The Triune God: A Historical Study of the Doctrine of the Trinity, pp. 32, 35.
The formal doctrine of the Trinity as it was defined by the great church councils of the fourth and fifth centuries is not to be found in the New Testament.
      P. Achtemeier, ed., Harper's Bible Dictionary, p. 1099.
This double series of texts manifests Paul's lack of clarity in his conception of the relation of the Spirit to the Son. Paul shares with the OT a more fluid notion of personality than the later theological refinements of nature, substance, and person. His lack of clarity should be respected for what it is and be regarded only as the starting point of later development.
      J. Fitzmyer, Pauline Theology: A Brief Sketch, p. 42.
Trinitarian discussion, Roman Catholic as well as other, presents a somewhat unsteady silhouette.
Two things have happened. There is the recognition on the part of exegetes and Biblical theologians, including a constantly growing number of Roman Catholics, that one should not speak of Trinitarianism in the New Testament without serious qualification. There is also the closely parallel recognition on the part of historians of dogma and systematic theologians that when one does speak of an unqualified Trinitarianism, one has moved from the period of Christian origins to, say, the last quadrant of the 4th century.
R.L. Richard, "Trinity, Holy," in New Catholic Encyclopedia 15 vols., 14:295.
There is in them (the Apostolic Fathers), of course, no trinitarian doctrine and no awareness of a trinitarian problem.
Edmund J. Fortman, The Triune God: A Historical Study of the Doctrine of the Trinity, p. 44.
The Church had to wait for more than three hundred years for a final synthesis, for not until the Council of Constantinople (381) was the formula of one God existing in three coequal persons formally ratified.
J.N.D. Kelly, Early Christian Doctrines, pp. 87-88.
Where the doctrine (of the Trinity) was elaborated, as e.g. in the writings of the Apologists, the language remained on the whole indefinite, and, from a later standpoint, was even partly unorthodox. Sometimes it was not free from a certain subordinationism.
F.L. Cross and E.A. Livingstone, eds., The Oxford Dictionary of the Christian Church, 2nd ed., p. 1394.
It (subordinationism) is a characteristic tendency in much Christian teaching of the first three centuries, and is a marked feature of such otherwise orthodox Fathers as St. Justin and Origen.
F.L. Cross and E.A. Livingstone, eds., The Oxford Dictionary of the Christian Church, 2nd ed., p. 1319.
(the passage at John 4:24) is not an essential definition of God, but a description of God's dealing with men; it means that God is Spirit toward men because he gives the Spirit (xiv 16) which begets them anew. There are two other such descriptions in the Johannine writings: "God is light" (1 John i 5), and "God is love" (1 John iv 8). These too refer to the God who acts; God gives the world His Son, the light of the world (iii 19, viii 12, ix 5) as a sign of His love (iii 16).
Raymond E. Brown, The Gospel According to John, p. 172.
The God of the Hebrew Bible is very different from the supreme God of Plato or Aristotle. The former is an anthropomorphic being capable of anger, joy, and other emotions, who created the world and continues to direct human affairs. The God of the philosophers, however, was a much less human and much more abstract figure, incapable of emotion, and far removed from the daily concerns of humanity. Many Jews tried to combine these two conceptions, or, more precisely, to reinterpret the God of the Bible in the light of the ideas of the philosophers, especially Plato....This approach to scripture was developed even further by Origen, Ambrose, and other fathers of the church.
Shaye J.D. Cohen, From Maccabees to the Mishnah, vol. 7 of the Library of Early Christianity, p. 44.

Bro read the Koran and the Hadiths, "radical islam" is not radical because the Koran and Hadiths don't support it, it is radical because most Muslims don't actually follow what the Korean and Hadiths say.
The Koran is not the Bible or book of Mormon both of which were written by multiple people over a very long period of time. The Koran was narrated by one guy over a very short period of time and anything that conflicts with parts given earlier supersedes those earlier parts.
The Koran is like the D&C except the Koran is arranged by the length of the passages not by when they were given to Mohammad.
That is why the "radicals" can ignore all those nice peaceful verses because they were revealed before the violent verses and thus are abrogated.

Yeah sure buddy, Kentucky definitely doesn't have a major drug issue too... Btw the vast majority of people in the South are kind and great people so please don't think this guy represents everyone in the South because he's very much in the minority. @@wes2176 I think he’s trying to say that there are a lot of members of the LDS church that are total hypocrites. They do not practice what they preach. I can confirm that this does happen sometime. It is because of hypocritical members of the church many years ago that I decided to leave the church and go elsewhere, seeking greener pastures and good, old-fashioned fellowship so that I didn’t have to feel bad about being who I was… A person from the south with a southern accent. I don’t think the accent was what did it though, it’s because I wasn’t part of the club., Now in the southern states, there is a resurgence of strength in the church of Jesus Christ of the latter-day Saints that is surpassing even the Midwest. because we truly believe. There are a lot of members of the church in the Midwest that are lukewarm and members in name only but not in how they exercise their faith. If people are going to be ripping on southerners here, I’m gonna fire a shot right back at you. There is no place in the Lord’s church for this kind of foolishness and small minded bigotry. we are all children of God and we except that we have differences or we don’t.

If anything our persecution in Missouri was just your general precursor violence of bleeding Kansas which perpetrated by both northerners and southerners. I also believe Brigham Young attributed the Civil War's collective bloodshed as having been a kind of calamity to befall the east coast, as in many ways it was equally bloody for the north. I say all that because I don't like southerner-bashing and we shouldn't bash them for what northerners did also.

I just went to the Lighthouse Baptist Church website. It says that they are a "KJV Bible Believing Church". So....If you prefer a different translation, you are a heathen? "We believe that God has preserved His very words in the transmission of His Word as found in the Greek Textus Receptus. We believe that the Bible as we have it today in the King James Version is the Word of God in the English language and in a sense that cannot be said of any other translation." I have to ask why that particular translation is perfect and all others are flawed. I also have to point out that this minister must therefore also believe that no one can be saved unless they speak English.
Their Beliefs page states that "...salvation is “by grace” plus nothing and minus nothing. The conditions to salvation are repentance and faith," but yet, " the two ordinances of the church are baptism of believers by immersion, and the memorial of the Lord’s supper until He returns. Neither ordinance is required for salvation - both are done as acts of obedience." So, there would appear to be two required acts of obedience even though grace alone is sufficient. Methinks they did not fully think this out.
I also noted that they believe "justification is an eternal relationship that can never be broken," which implies that once a person is baptized and keeps taking communion, they can do anything they want and still live forever with God.

Rather timely me thinks in relation to the Priesthood ban the people hate talking about. Be great to get Kwakus take on this. When I heard this I thought that if a man was of African descent, a member of the church and living in that area, if he had been murdered the person or persons who murdered him would be free because of the extermination order. Am I correct or not? And no, I do not mean to stir up hard feelings and pain. I do know that all blessings are eternal and cannot be kept from faithful and covenant keeping brothers and sisters. ❤

Django unchained being a truly terrible film for terrible people aside.
Mohamed Did not end Human sacrifice, he simply made it part of government. He ended up creating a religion that has by Estimate, and this is The SMALL estimate, Killed at least 1 billion people worldwide, not counting Possible generations. There are entire civilizations we have no information of other than the Islamic record of their genocide by Islam forces and maybe archeological evidence to be dug up. This is well documented by their own texts. Irrefutable to any one who does any research into this.
I have not in all of my years of actually looking into religions, Holy texts, Apocrypha, Listening to people telling me their real life experiences, and looking into statistics ever found any verifiable redeeming qualities about Islam. Please Do research into it. Understand it before you offer it any praise. Verify the things I have typed here. Do not get me wrong There are many good people in the religion But I will condemn the actual religion and any of its offshoots as truly an evil creation that if allowed to continue unchecked will see to every ones misery by force of arms. It is as a poison in the veins everywhere it goes.
