Not a comments guy but this is a great piece of work that deserves a lot more exposure. Great analysis and breakdown! Your channel deserves a lot more subscribers for this quality of work, and I regret I only have a single sub to give.
I wouldn't go anything except Arch-Millitant on Argenta, even if you build her for flamers and as a Zealot, the whole flamethrower+Eviscerator build instead of a Bolter/Heavy Bolter build spamming the Rapid Fire button. I'd *never* go Bounty Hunter, despite on paper looks better than Arch-Millitant for a Zealot build; The reason I say this is because Argenta has frankly bad stats for a Bounty-Hunter build. I always recommend picking the Archetype that min/maxes best with and meshes well with both the base class and the characteristics. Argenta's base characteristics are high Agility, high Ballistics, ok Willpower and her base skills are high Demolition and Medicae. Arch-Millitant scales off all of these and some; So it is preferable to go that anyway, though you'd be building it different for Flamer+Eviscerator/flamer&chainsword, where the focus would be instead on weapon combinations and Area Damage as opposed to ramping up Rapid Fire and procing Momentum and free additional action points like you would with a Bolter/Heavy Bolter build. Same with other companions, pick the Archetype that best suits them; For Cassia it is Grand Strategist, for Pasqal and Idira it is Bounty Hunter, for Abalard it is Vanguard, for Jae it is Master Tactician, etc. I usually prefer to bring Pasqal over Idira, not only is he the only option for a Dogmatic run, but he is also better at the same support role and does more damage; You can build him for Plasma weapon focus as this counteracts the downsides of him being mostly support so he can still dish out a lot of damage based on talents which increase Plasma weapons, or you can give him a Arc Rifle and he'll be doing lighting attacks just like Idira. Basically, he is the non-psyker version of the same retinue position.
I would like to see more posts like this This isn't some Greyhawk lorebeard type shit I can familiarize myself with, the whole second tier is totally alien to me and so all the skills and combos is non-intuitive and idk what's the best build to even use. Like I legitimately haven't figured what they all done, you got Master Tactician and Master Strategist which sound similar and playstyle clearly are not, moreover I'd be tempted to go with two strategists but idk how that works out so well (with two officers and two operatives it worked super well having low diversity, high role diversity may be better this time) the Assassin *sounds like* what I'd want Idira to be but so far as I can tell the Bounty Hunter is actually what I wanted and Assassin is something completely different from the roguelike high damage dealer I want. Vanguard I think is just a tank, and Arch militant--i don't know what even arch militant does except that I'm saddened by the fact I can't equip those multiple attacks or stacking turns on something like Idira or Cassia where I really could stand to benefit dumping as many AP into them as possible due to their combo of both some of the best buffs/debuffs in game, but also the absolute best damage dealers and AoE DPS.
Despite all of this information being available in game, I dislike how the menu presents it (made worse by console controls) and this video is exactly what I was looking for.
