Brilliant, sir! My particular issue had been how to detach the battery retainer bracket; as opposed to other videos, yours made it very clear. Thank you.
Thanks ! You helped me a lot even I tried long time to take off the retainer bracket. In your comments, that should be well to insist on that step, writing to not hesitate to raise battery at the same time. Thanks again for help
Good video, I’d just add, when you ‘say’ gently slide the battery out. You need to lift it up before it slides towards you. I placed a flat head screw driver under the battery to prise it up then pull it out towards you.
Saor Alba I don’t see any problem in that. Depending on ECU type, the volatile memory could be wipe out and will need to relearn your riding style. Apart from this possibilities I can’t think of anything else that could go wrong.
I believe 2005 model GS the battery is underneath the rider seat. Remove it, then there is holder for the on-board documentation to be remove. It's held in place with 1 screw. Once that is remove you can remove the battery. Hope this help. I did not own a 2005 GS to have a better presentation on it. Had work on R1100RS that one the battery is in more difficult access.
There are torque value as BMW service manual. But since battery terminal are quite common I just use general tightness as most battery terminal. The cover is not a critical item so I don’t bother with torque value too. For critical items I will use a torque wrench. However please follow the service manual if in doubt.
Nice video ..... Hey ... does anyone know what the BMW battery costs in the USA ? Glad there are other batteries for this .... BMW parts are nasty expensive and they really are not any better than other part sellers offer.
As replacement I just use Yuasa, they are good. Beemer batteries is just a rebrand and over here in Kuala Lumpur it is about 200 US each. You are right there, the bmw batteries is not any better that after market. I use R1100RS before, and on that bike I use panasonic industrial battery that is about 20 ~ 30 US a piece, it work. I just replace it every year.
Thanks for telling me that, I did send the bike for warranty claim in 2017. They replaced the battery and nobody else has work on it. Not sure if the dealer has forgotten to put it back. Anyway, I had since change to a different bike now.
Usually around 2 years, tetapi kalau jarang jalan cepat rosak. Untuk lanjutkan usia battery elok guna charger yang ada trickle dan maintenance function. Boleh tahan lebih lama.
basic enough task but man it is frustrating that you don't just talk. Are you scared of having your voice online? Pantomiming and waiting for text to explain what you could just easily say while doing is so much better.
This is the most professional, adequate and straight forward video on how to change the R1200 GS battery.
A+. Love the no dialogue -- straight and to the point. Thank you.
I don't leave comments, however this clip is great. Clear instruction, to the point and shows that without speech is perfect. Thank You
Definitely an A+ or A++. Clear, concise, thorough, a 5 y/o could understand. I learned everything I need to know, never a word spoken. Terrific!
Perfect. Thank you. Accomplished the battery swap in about 10 mins with this video.
This video includes all the details about battery removal/installation instructions. Thanks. Great job!
Thank you
The no-talking style is great. Good video
Finally, a spot-on video on changing the battery. Thanks mate !
My kind of video. No annoying music, not a lot of words. Just gettin' r' done.

Perfekt, mit Gebärdensprache. Brauch ich mein Lückenhaftes English gar nicht erst auspacken.
Great video. Not sure why some idiot gave a thumbs down. Must have wanted you to include dancing ponies and a rock music track.

Super clear, thanks!
Hi, is your positive optimate charging wire attached to the visible red positive nub for ease of access?
Meerci pour votre vidéo.
Very nice. Just what I needed. Thank you.
No obnoxious music? No telling me to LIKE, SHARE, and SUBSCRIBE every 15 seconds? Surely this violates some sort of UA-cam guidelines ...
Nice scratch job on the frame with the socket bro.
Great video. Are there any issues with removing the battery for 3 months during the winter?
Saor Alba I don’t see any problem in that. Depending on ECU type, the volatile memory could be wipe out and will need to relearn your riding style. Apart from this possibilities I can’t think of anything else that could go wrong.
Its T20 right?
Hi there. Thanks for the video. Nice, simple, comprehensive. Question; is it the same on a 2005 BMW 1200GS? standard GS, not GSA.

No special Torque required?

good grief, don't you ever wash your bike? jesus..
I ride daily, not only on weekends. So washing is not really a top priority.
Thank you!
