It's the same problem with the rest of the media: it seems that Hollywood, game studios, etc, are all stuck in a loop, reashing and reserving stuff we've seen done better 10, 15, 20 years ago.

The PS2 holds a very special place in my heart too, in fact I'm looking over at my silver PS2 as i type this - still going strong after 21 years of use! 😎 Need For Speed Underground/2 helped shape me into a car guy too, man I miss the tuner culture from back then. My favourite hidden gem from the era was Freedom Fighters - absolutely loved that game.
Great video. My first console was the sega dreamcast but I got the ps2 after it went under. Probably the best generation of gaming all the consoles back then were so unique and they all had something cool for everyone on them expessially the ps2 with its huge library.
I still have my PS2, it was the one my brother bought in ‘02. No memory card, so we had to keep it on. FFX, and Tekken Tag Tournament was my life back then 😂
Our parents wouldn't let us have a game console so I used to play PC games until we got a GameBoy. Only much later did I get to buy a GameCube and eventually a PlayStation 2 and it was fun catching up what I missed. By now I've good a good Billy full of games and enjoying consoles old and new. Really, it's all the same to me if it's a NES, PS1 or Xbox Series X. 4K ray tracing goodness is cool but so is Ocarina of Time. Long live gaming ^_^
This is why I modded mine way back in 2005 with ulaunchelf and hdloader baby!, I would rent games and install it via ide on my PC and store shitloads of games, now modded it further with retrogem HDMI and a 2tb with most of all the north American and English patched japanese only games.
i grew up on Playstation. i would eventually try the xbox and what not. but we always had the ps1, ps2, and ps3 as they came out. i just wanted the next Metal Gear Solid on each XD
Disagree with the title but good video. The PS2 is only good for exclusives in my opinion. Multiplatform games ran better on the GameCube and Xbox. And the image clarity of the PS2 is just so poor in comparison. Almost no games are 480p compatible. Sony didn't futureproof very good unfortunately. Also, the Dreamcast is apart of the Sixth Generation and a very important part of it. 17:52 Also it's ironic this is being played when the PS2 version is an inferior port.
I believe to this day, that almost everything that exists today, somehow existed before in ps2.
