Maybe its just the coconut taste , not sure but it was horrible.

For those whom tried this recipe and end up having it grainy and stuck to third teeth, here is how I solved the problem:
1-just melt 1/4 cub of the coconut oil on microwave, don't make it hot, just melt it.
2- add 1/4 cub of warm water
3- add 1 Gram of Xanthen powder (SECRET INGREDIENTS) it will combined fat and water and make it a thick past
4- stair strongly.. you will have a nutilla kind paste
5- now you can add flavoured protein/ cocoa/ Sweetner or any other powder for the flavour
    6- refrigerat and enjoy

These are a staple at my house as a pre-workout treat. Increased protein content and gelatin to prevent melting at room temp as well as additional nutrition and fiber. Here is my current recipe for those interested:
    Coconut Oil Protein Fat Bomb
    (Makes 24)
Recipe Total Net Carbs: 17g Net Carbs
Carbs Per Fat Bomb: 0.7g Net Carbs
Protein Per Fat Bomb: 17.5g Protein (Whey / Casein)
    Ingredients:
    3 cup Coconut Oil
12 scoops Isopure Flavored Protein Powder
5 scoops Casein Unflavored Protein Powder (5g Net Carbs)
5 tbs Nutritional Yeast (2g Net Carbs)
    5 tbs Psyllium Husk
    6 tbs Erythritol (Granulated)
    PINCH Pure Stevia Powder
1 Packet Knox Geletin (1g Net Carbs)
3/4 cup Macadamia Nuts (Rough Chopped) (9g Net Carbs)
    PINCH Flake Salt
    OPTIONAL:
    2 SHOTS Espresso (Liquid)
NOTE: Flavor of fat bomb is based on the flavor of protein
    powder used.
    1. Heat Coconut Oil over *LOW* heat until clear and *WARM* to the
touch. Excess heat will make final result 'Gritty'.
    2. Add Flavored Protein Powder, Casein Protein Powder,
Nutritional Yeast, Psyllium Husk, Erythritol and Pure
Stevia Powder and mix until fully incorporated. If gritty
continue to apply heat, stirring frequently until smooth.
    3. Add Knox Gelatin mix and stir until fully incorporated.
    4. Place small amount chopped Macadamia Nuts in bottom of each
muffin tin and spoon 3 *LEVEL* tablespoons of Coconut Oil
Mixture over the top of Macadamia nuts.
    5. *LIGHTLY* Dust with flake salt and place in refrigerator to
    fully set.
NOTE: Store in refrigerator in sealed container. Good for
    10 days.
    OPTIONAL 1:
2 Shots of Espresso can be added to flavors that would benefit
    from coffee flavor.
    OPTIONAL 2:
Once hardened, remove from muffin tin and top with ZERO carb
    cream cheese frosting.
    Zero Carb Cream Cheese Frosting
    Ingredients:
    1/2 cup Butter, Room Temp
8 oz Cream Cheese, Room Temp (8oz = 1/2 lb)
    2 tsp Vanilla Extract
    7 tbs Powdered Erythritol
    PINCH Pure Stevia Powder
    1. Use stand mixer to beat Butter and Cream Cheese until
    fully integrated.
    2. Add Vanilla Extract, Powdered Erythritol and Stevia
    Powder.
    3. Mix until sufficient volume is worked into frosting and
    it has stiff peaks.

Thanks a lot for the salt tip - you're soooo right: fat bombs do taste much better with a bit of salt. To this recipe I added 1 tbsp cocoa powder; and then once the mix was in the mould, I topped each bomg with a pea size amount of peanut butter, one pecan half and one macadamia nut. OMG - they are too good.

Turned out great. I didn't have the macadamia nuts so I used Cacao chips. I also increased the coconut oil to 1/3 cup like someone had suggested and I decreased the powder to 1-1/2 - 1-3/4 scoops. I also took the pan off the heat when I added the powder like someone had suggested. Love them. Can't wait to try diff varieties.

They are a bit higher in carbs (5g where as most are in the 2-3g range) but if you aren't too worried about that, go try it out.

1 cup of coconut oil is a little over 200g or about 7 ounces. It's a recipe you have to adjust, depending on your protein powder and taste.

Kristi Maier someone up top mentioned to heat the coconut oil and then turn off the heat and THEN add the powder. The heat makes the powder grainy. Hope that helps.

I just tried making these today, after receiving the isopur e cookies and cream from Amazon... They were disgusting 😱 I couldn't figure it out, y'alls recipes are always on point, so I thought I had done something wrong. After about an hour on line I learned that I had received FAKE isopure from the Amazon seller and that was the problem. Returning for a refund. I Hope no one else makes the same mistake I made. Do NOT buy your isopure on Amazon!

I had to smile at Matt's description of the fat bombs being in the neighborhood of being too good - I have trouble myself with cookies and other things that might be low-carb, but my brain tells me that I could have 12 of them at once instead of 1 or 2, and I have to walk away from any goodies so I can't see them.

I’m confused because with the protein powder they’re not actually fat bombs. There more like protein bombs which isn’t what keto is about. Isopure has 50 g of protein per 2 scoops, which makes that fat bomb not actually a fat bomb. There’s more protein than fat in the mixture. Isn’t that going to knock you out of ketosis or at least delay the effects? It’s supposed to be high fat, moderate protein, and low-carb. If you have too much protein in your body, the body isn’t going to focus on burning the fat it’s going to use the protein as it’s energy source.

    • @JustaRandom09837
      @JustaRandom09837 6 років тому

If this recipe is using 1/2 cup of coconut oil, which is 170g, that's 170g of fat to 2 scoops consisting of 50g of protein(per manufacturer's label). Let's say you make 10 bombs out of that and you will get 17g fat and 5g of protein per bomb. Not bad at all.
