    Very pretty. Using your lining technique, if you lined the skirt as well, it could be a totally reversible dress. I might give that a try next year for me and my sister.

      It totally could be. There would need to a an opening somewhere to bag it all out :)

    Evening Karina, just lovely like your husband said! Can you please consider doing some videos on different sewing techniques? I think you said you learned to sew from your Auntie who was a Couture seamstress? I would love to see how you line a dress for example, hand sew your hems, those types of videos. I am new to garment sewing and while I have watched a lot of other youtubers. I love the way you do things. That way also, you won't have the pressure of always having to sew a complete garment. I think a lot of people could benefit from learning your techniques! Thank you!!!😊

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  4 роки тому

      This is a project I’m working on and I just need more time in order to film and edit them. The hand sewing I do is basically the same type of stitch for everything. I tried to film it before and it was hard to get up close and it was blurry. I’m determined to show all this though :)
      Also, sewing technique videos get very few views for some reason 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @lilybogaards5089

      Lifting Pins and Needles Sian from Kittinish Behaviour isolates short specific techniques from her sewalongs in a seperate playlist, using same footage twice. Maybe that’s an idea? Can imagine that those get lesser views upon publication, but don’t these videos have more longavity? I look those up once I need them for a project. By the way, if anyone has questions about lining garments I refer them to you.

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  4 роки тому +1

      UA-cam is super complex in the way that if a video has less views, the next one will not be shared as much. Due to the small size of my channel and how vulnerable I am to the algorithms, I’m super careful and have another empty channel I plan to have the techniques in. Separately to this main one. It’s a future plan 😄

      This is a tiny room next to the laundry area of the house. I never go there except to film some videos. I have the paining in my sewing room because that’s where I always am and it inspired me to look at it constantly.

    • @Hide_and_silk
      @Hide_and_silk 4 роки тому +1

      Just to add....as I'm thinking this through haha...if you added piping to the neck and arm openings then you wouldn't see one side of the dress when wearing the other...and vice versa.

    Karina I see that you make the lining a bit shorter than bodice and it does fit in. Is because of bulk in the waist

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  3 роки тому

      They are the same length. When you see it on the ironing board, the bottom layer just looks stretched out and a bit longer but I did cut them the same and they are both the same type of fabric.

    Oh Karina, I wanted to ask you...the Jean jacket you made. I can't recall the name. Is it unisex? I have found a whole lot of my sons and mine old Jean's. I would love to try and make him and I Jean jackets. If the pattern isn't unisex, I will have to find one for men. Thank you.

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  4 роки тому

      I’ve made several denim jackets: Cindy, Stacie and Atenas. They are all for women. As far as I know, I think Norris danta ford has a simplicity male denim jacket pattern. Women’s ones are too difficult to adapt to men’s one I think.
