  • I am sharing my version of the gorgeous Willow wrap dress (Love Notions). Due to my fabric choice, I made some construction modifications for the design to be successful and look the way I wanted. I am sharing how I lined the bodice partially while enclosing the shoulder seams and how I am binding the neckline and sleeveless armscye. I’m very excited about this dress!

    I love your dress. I’m so thrilled you made the sleeveless. I love that no adjustment was needed. I actually really like the idea of the lined back and double binding too. I’ll use a lighter weight fabric so I can do this also. Looking forward to making this one. I don’t really care for the full skirt option so this is ideal. Thank you for all you do. I used your link. Yay!! 🪡 💕

    Thank you Karina! I am making my youngest the Willow Wrap Top (straight version) but as I was cutting the fabric I was thinking it was finer and stretchier than my experience could confidently handle. I like the way a binding looks and I find facings always turn out nicer. I knew you must have a video on fine stretchy knits and the Willow wrap. Thanks again!

    I found your channel when I was looking for a bias binding tutorial (which was wonderful). I had also recently found Love Notions patterns. I made several of their Namaste pajamas as Christmas gifts. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos...I really enjoy them! I will be sure to use the affiliate link when I go back to purchase more Love Notions patterns.

    I am so in love with your dress. So beautiful! You are a lovely woman. Thank you for sharing the construction of your dress with us. I am just learning to sew with these beautiful knits. I appreciate your explanation of the negative ease needed with these stretchy knits. I also appreciate seeing how you adjusted the pattern for your size needs. My daughter is taller like you and would most likely need a similar adjustment. I am a petite so would need to either go with the pattern size or shorten. Most of my length is in my torso with short legs. LOL! I really enjoy your videos. Cheers!❤🤗

      Nothing worse than the bra bulge on thin fabric. Makes things unwearable. This is a practical solution and the dress feels amazing on with the extra support. Thanks for watching 😊.

    Have you ever tried sewing the bodice to the skirt in between the lining and regular bodices?Then you could have mpst of the garment sandwiched inside the back lining and the back part.The armholes would still be open, so you could pull the garment through there. Just a thought...Linda Palmer

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  5 місяців тому

      I do that when I line the whole bodice. In this case the lining is just at the back so I can’t really do what you are saying.

    This is a great pattern for a wrap style dress. Most of them are either cut too low, or gape open to show the world all the assets. I tend to stay away from this type for those reasons.

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  3 роки тому +1

      I used a straight stitch on binding all the time because they don’t pop. There’s several seams done with binding :) also, this was my mum’s machine and I had no other option. On my machine, I use a shallow zig zag :)

    Please discuss how the commercials work. Do you make your wages if we click off of them? What if we watch part of it? The banner ads at the bottom of the screen - do you make your wages if we leave it there? Just want to make sure how to help your paycheck while on UA-cam. Of course - I am going to Patreon tomorrow so moot point - but that is a monthly payment to help your wages instead of commercials. I think it would be helpful for all of us regular viewers to know best how to help your bottom line. If you have previously discussed all of this - please point me to that video or post ~ thanks so much! You can see that I am binging your Love Notions playlist because of the sale that starts today, lol. I don't own any of their patterns and I have made sure to use your link!

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  4 роки тому +2

      I’ve never talked about them on a video because UA-cam discourages the discussion and I’ve never truly understood how it works. I know that watching them partially helps, but they are also skippable to give the viewer a choice too. The amount made in every video is very very little and that’s why I set up patreon last year to help offset the costs. Thank you so much for your willingness to support my work 🤗
