@@BooBooKittyFuzzyBritches wotcha yep still alive amazingly-my son took me to see them in London last year -they performed the greatest show I’ve seen and that includes Clapton and the Stones.
Someone needs to give the audio techies the gold medals for this one.... because this band's sound is mixed perfectly. Seriously, this may be the best live tone I've ever heard
As a guitar player, Derek is simply untouchable. His tone, his feel and overall genius is mind-blowing. Susan has an incredible voice. Period. and that band is SMOKING. so glad I could see them this year, cant wait to see them again. You will no witness a show of this magnitude anywhere else, I can promise that.
Truth. I'm convinced I can get to or as close to a tone as possible for any guitarist except Derek, Mark Speer of Khruangbin, and Trey Anastasio. It's everything and all things about how they play that gives their signature tone more than any gear could.
I personally was convinced without first hear knowing who this is that it was guthrie govan playing without a slide, as he really has so much translatable godlikeskill
I was fortunate enough to attend this show. Still gives me goosebumps watching the video. What amazing talent. Definite believer that music can touch and heal the soul.
+perpetuals3lf If you look up Sugaree / Angel from Montgomery, you will see how Susan changes when Derek takes the stage. You can see how in love she is with him.
I only wished he would look at her the same way more often! Of all the songs I've watched of them together, he only slightly shows his appreciation in the Sky Is Crying. Susan is worthy of his adoration and more in every song she sings.
I had a couple next to me when i lived in chicago that just played guitar riffs back and forth to each other on the porch like it was some secret language. I never heard them speak to each other. Sometimes it sounded like they were having sex. . . sometimes the music sounded like an argument. I really wished I had recorded some of it. These two kind of remind me of that
This song just leaves me breathless. Every instrument, Susan's voice, Derek on slide, the horns, the organ....just fucking perfection. They need to come to China.
I am truly astounded by this group. I was doing random searches on Google about love, and you popped up. I could not believe my ears. You are the tightest band I have heard in ages, possible the tightest I have ever heard. Everyone of you are amazing. I thought real music was a thing of the past. Thank the Lord there are still some out there. Thank you so much for sharing on You tube. I am going right now to buy some of your stuff to start my collection. God bless you, and again I thank all of you. Just blown away.
***** I couldnt agree more. And on top of that (I did an interview with them once) both Derek and Susan are totally down to earth, loving people. Derek for president!
***** I've followed the Allman Brothers Band since 1970, and it was natural to move to these chaps as well. Derek's lineage is of course, fantastic. I'm in England and we came to the states last year, and was pleased to visit the ABB museum in Macon.
That's on my listen John penny that is a must see to go to the big house. As much as I'm a Derek fanatic I'm always drawn back to Duane there's just an aura and something spiritual about Duane as a person and a musician they both truly truly astound me. The retrospective boxset brought of Duane is just mesmerising.
The individual musicianship in this band is simply amazing and yet they all bounce off each other, then melt into one incredible stew of soulful dynamic flavors. You could listen to the same song 10 times and hear it so differently depending on who you focus on. I've only recently discovered them and I know the lineup has changed over the years, but they are just fantastic! I really miss live music and have been searching it out on UA-cam lately and have NOT been disappointed. So much energy, spirit, talent & soul makes its living out on the road. I bet these amazing musicians have been about to burst being kept home thru Covid. Can't wait to see them out and on the road again!
Holy smokes! This is one tight band. Not one instrument had a bad note. Susan's vocals shook me to the Core. I'm just blown away by this song. Have to admit this is the first time I've heard it and it had me ready to shout. What an emotional rollercoaster. Just a great great song delivered by a great great band. Amazing.
Had the pleasure of seeing the Atlanta show two nights ago. For a few brief moments it felt like I was transported back in space and time to an Almond Brothers concert. Perfect description below - this band is astonishing ❤
Takes me back to the Fillmore East 1970 when I saw Delaney & Bonnie and Friends. THIS is Music. THIS is a Band! The Only Band I know of right now that actually has the energy, the musicality, and the spirit that the late 60's had. I LOVE IT!!!
Having mastered the slide before age 7, only Jeff Beck can use one anything like Trucks can. What a master! Combined with ST's voice, what an amazing team!
I love how the trumpet player in the red jacket looks like he's having a religious experience at 6:15. Indeed, listening to this incredible version of this song is like a religious experience!
You know what is wild about this video? Derek Trucks is killer in this, and that being said, I saw them less than a month ago, and he is miles away from this in his playing now. The man keeps getting better!
I had the luxury of seeing the Derek Trucks Band on the Songlines tour as the first live show I saw as a kid, skated all day around Charlottlesville, VA, went back to the bar, and the band were all having a drink and eating. We figured we wouldn't bother them, and they were nice enough to chat with us after the show. 40/50 Max in the attic of a bar, that show solidified my love for music.
During Derek’s solo I’m always tickled by the dichotomy. The guys in the horn section dancing and feeling it. Meanwhile Sue just causally sitting on that amp like “yeah this is a Tuesday night in our backyard after dinner. I see this all this time.”
Every time I hear anything from this band, two words come to mind. You know, other than "Damn, these guys are phenomenal!" Those words are "Joy" and "Love." From their songwriting, Susan's otherworldly voice (and underrated guitar skills), Derek's superhuman guitar skills (and was that really Duane's old Les Paul he's playing?) and on down the line. They have so much fun playing and it shows. The Joy and love show. The only time (so far) I've seen them live, they closed their main set with this. And it was absolutely magical.
They are so on the same wave during this performance. Each person is monumental to this unique and just very very good sound. I can never listen to this song enough.
I truly have to say that these talented guys always put it all out there on the stage 110%. Each of the four times we've been fortunate enough to see the Band live I leave astounded that they are all able to give so much and ,then, do it again maybe even the very next day or a day or two later and again and again and again. These videos are awesome no doubt, but if any of you have not witnessed The Tedeschi Trucks Band live experience please do yourself a huge favor and make plans to do just that. I can promise you that you will not leave wanting.

Susan with that wonderful, soulful voice. Derek, with that smoking guitar. The horns, bass, drums... All combined to melt my computer from the awesomeness!
I'd say the best slide guitar ever for sure!!! Maybe THE best guitar player ever, even though, I don't feel that it's about who's 'best', espessially when there are so many great players and kind people in the world. They seem like a match made in heaven for sure!

My all time favorite by TTB... I just love seeing Maurice Mobetta Brown and how much he was digging the groove... Shows that they were enjoying it just as much as I am sure the audience was...
Watching this performance never gets old! So much natural talent! Love these guys so much! So fun to go see live too. They attract the best people on the planet:)
you can tell these musicians truly enjoy what they do for a living. Thanks for posting this. I have been turned onto so much music lately..I wonder where have I been?
Hottest band in the land! Saw them at Akron Civic Theatre. I believe they kept the volume down as they would have lost control of the crowd. This band is so powerful and musically literate - just incredible! Wheels of Soul!!!

it's because he's got Duane's guitar in his hand. check out Oteil, he's playing Barry Oakley's bass too! they've got Duane and Oakley up there with em!
I just watched the Fillmore East Allman Brothers Band & Duanes guitar is two toned , gold and dark, Dereks guitar is all gold , I am not saying you are wrong , but it is not the guitar Duane played at Fillmore East.
You are correct..the '57 Gold Top was used on the the first two albums, whereupon Duane traded it for the '59 Cherry Sunburst you saw at the Fillmore show. The gold top was subsequently lost, but eventually rediscovered. And we are graced with guys like Trucks burning it up. More in-depth story on interwebs if your interested.
Well it really was a coming together of two ordinary bands filled with extraordinary people. Derek trucks really needed a great singer, and Susans band really needed some direction away from Bonnie Raitt. The result is as you see MAGIC.
Hey Doug, thanks bro for the response to my quote it's nice knowing rock and roll still resonates with folks like us. I miss the days of REAL artists and truely GOOD music

Big thumbs up to the bass player who loves his music. Watched him on Space Captain and he sure has energy and gets into it. The band is superb.
Otiel Burbridge on bass and I think the late Kofi Burbridge on keyboard. Two amazing talents.
Gives me chills and tears. The most soulful band I've ever heard.
Trucks is a living lgend his slidework is amazing. And it will be sudied over and over for years and years.to come.
Why am I just now hearing this band? This is right on!!
I just heard them now in 2016 because of Koko Taylor and Voodoo Woman. I wanted to see if I could a better bead on the drummer's part.
I discovered TTB only a couple years ago. They are always on top of my playlist.
Well it really was a coming together of two ordinary bands filled with extraordinary people. Derek trucks really needed a great singer, and Susans band really needed some direction away from Bonnie Raitt. The result is as you see MAGIC.
I can't wait to see you July 7th in New Haven CT what a great birthday present
lets not forget the bass player.... he is so on the money.... its unreal.....
unbeliveble what a band so tight her voice wonderfull his playing so cool got to see them if and when they hit Britain
Hey Doug, thanks bro for the response to my quote it's nice knowing rock and roll still resonates with folks like us. I miss the days of REAL artists and truely GOOD music
Tell your story
Roll the truth around your head
Bound for glory
I ain't getting out of this bed
The sun comes struggling on
Yesterday's dead and gone
Tell your story
Put the night back in your veins
Bound for glory
I ain't coming to again
The sun comes struggling on
Yesterday's dead and gone
And I feel I'm bound for glory
Dreaming in a cowboy song
I feel I'm bound for glory
Can you feel it?
Bound for glory!
Can you feel it?
Glory bound!
Can you feel it?
Bound for glory!
Tell your story
Roll the truth around your head
Bound for glory
I ain't getting out of this bed
The sun comes struggling on
Yesterday's dead and gone
And I feel I'm bound for glory
Dreaming in a cowboy song
I feel I'm bound for glory
Can you feel it?
Bound for glory!
Can you feel it?
Glory bound!
Can you feel it?
Bound for glory!
The guitar solo gave me chills that lasted through the song. So blown away.
This is a great video what a rare treat to enjoy watching true talent!
