Can you tell me what starting jets to use for a stock coleman vm22 with a 1" exhaust please? I've went from 110 all the way to 130 and it still seems like it needs more fuel, but I'm now second guessing if there's something up. Could this possibly need as big as a 135, 140 main? It does run good plug still looks a little lean with the 130. Thanks..

I have a tip for anyone struggling to get their engine running after changing carburetor or doing anything with the valve springs. If you try to start and it “pulls back” or stops coming out, your valve lash gapping is not correct and needs to be fixed. For a Honda clone 196 or predator 212 it is about 0.003”

If i very slowly give it gas, i can get going… but again, once you press gas all the way… it dies… i heard i need to change the main jet… I didn’t have the bigger jet, so I drilled the main jet hole slightly bigger… didn’t make a difference… can’t figure it out.

I just installed a vm22 on my 212 !! 👍👍 I haven’t put any performance parts on my engine. However I’ve port/polish shaved head Recut valve s and of coarse reset valve clearance Just a header pipe homemade muffler She’ll fly around the neighborhood if you can keep the front wheel down! Lol I kept a 65 t on back and at about 5-6 grand I’m leaning over the handlebars lol ✌️

@@GoPowerSports no air leak and gaskets in place it really seems like the jet might be wrong but when I ordered the whole kit from Amazon I had to lodge a complaint then take pictures of all the parts they did send then make a list of the parts that weren't sent then had to submit that to get my intake pipe air filter and mounting hardware the whole deal was kinda screwy especially after going through all that and the shit didn't even work right lol I just ended up putting the stage one kit on the stock carb still looks cool and performs well on my top kart ...this whole deal gave me psd and I'm worried about buying another one of these Chinese Mikunis ...I think ima just pony up the dough and get a real mikuni
Those 2 manifold studs are screwed into the block. We use the method of putting two lock nuts together, tighten them against each other, and left loosey each stud out of the block.

I know this was old news. But there’s a lot to say about learning the carb yourself. The vm is so simple. You basically have a high and a low Always point your bike towards a wall on the incase you screwed the throttle up. It comes set close enough for your bike to run. So set your idle screw first, I sit my bike on a cradle to free up my rear wheel. I gas the throttle- turn screw gas throttle turn screw and after 5 min of gassing the engine, your ready to ride 👍👍💕
I have a mukuni vm22 from a kawaski ke125 1978 2 stroke i cant find a new clone to buy cause mine fit in the bike on a rubbee boot no screws and is located by ur right foot brake pedal behind a side casing so i was gonna clean it all out and try to use same one but i need to know how to reset both screw to a point where engine start and the ajust it cause all the clones online has the bolt on side with the pipe and if i get one of thoese i cant put case over it anymore and would be exposed and in the way for brake pedal please help me thanks

You could use the air filter cover that come with the stage 1 kits, and just zip tie. Other than that, we may use a UNI Air Filter Pod for added protection. But we currently do not sell a smaller filter cover.

After installing a new carburetor I like to spray the contact points with break cleaner and listen for an rpm change. No change is good. Change is bad.
That brake cleaner is hard on plastic and paint. If you're checking for vacuum leaks you may want to use a silicone spray. Very good point checking for possible vacuum leaks.

Mine came with a 130 and a 16. I think the 16 pilot jet is too large for my Coleman 200uex because I can’t get it it idle smooth and I’ve played with all the possible settings. Time to find some smaller pilot jets to test.
@@MrComeaucmc currently my Gio SS 125 is running rich with the stock carb and it bogs on the last 1/4 throttle, I think the pilot is too large and the main too small. Also, I think the C clip could help if there was an option to make it leaner, sadly the stock carb has only 1 slot.

i have dual carbs on a RMZ 500. i have been having intermittent loss of power. the motor stays running but it wont run full power. i already changed the coil pack and still had the same problem. ran fine for an hour then about 30 seconds of power loss before back to full power.
Tried this myself on a new build. My drainage tube has gas coming from it while running. If anyone has advice or suggestions how to fix they're greatly appreciated

Definitely a top speed increase but when giving it full throttle off launch it bogs and feels like there’s a lack of power that wasn’t a problem with the stock carb. Checked the idle screw, air/fuel screw and needle as well as any vacuum leaks nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions

Screw on 2 nuts up against each other and back the inner one out while holding the outer one still using 2 wrenches. It will eventually lock up and you can unscrew the bolt just by unscrewing the inner nut. To get the nuts off hold the inner one still and unscrew the outer nut.
Just bought one. The wholes on the adapter don’t seem to line up with the holes on my block. Any ideas of what I’m missing. Also mine didn’t come with a gasket
It's pretty cheap on amazon for the gasket, For the holes it might be a little off but it should be correct. Unless you meant the mounting holes which idk the answer.

If the motor die's as you are installing the aircleaner, you may have a bad seal on the main o=ring that seals the carb to the manifold. In many cases the seal will become off center when the carb is clocked level. If you cant remedy the failure issue, then take the carb and manifold off the motor...in one connected piece. Then look thru the manifold to see if the o-ring is showing anywhere. It should not be exposed in any areas. There isI also a small chance that a restrictive aircleaner will cause an already compromised o-ring to begin leaking. Good luck.

I had this issue and it was because the cylinders had liquid somehow and weren’t able to compress. Use an air compressor or air blower and let it move the liquid out. Also, I took out the spark plug and pulled the cable multiple times (kill switch in off position) to let any liquid come out of the pistons.
My needle 😮has a spring on it way would they do that I can’t adjust it like you what we’re they thinking waist of money 💴 man. Maybe I bought the wrong carburetor for the predator 212 it all looks nice on the bike but won’t idle just wants to takeoff 🛫 😂with the idle all the way down.vacuum leak I sealed the carburetor up real good and hell I cot the gas screw all the way in and guess what it still wants to take off 😂😂😂😂😂😂
One quick question. When i hook up the vacuum line that goes to the back of the crankcase it runs like crap. This is on a Tao Tao 120. It does run better with the vac or vent line open to atmosphere. Thanks

What do I do if new carb is leaking a ton of fuel from carb and from excess fuel tube ? Do I need to adjust my carb again maybe it’s o ring issue not lined up ? Or jet pin?

We would need to see video footage of how your carb is acting. Do you have an air leak?

It's a Genuine Mikuni from the Mikuni factory. Not OEM in the sense that it came from a Yamaha Side by Side or equivalent.
When we buy these from you, you all set the fuel mixture screw already so we don’t have to change this right?

It runs on main jet at WOT. Change main jet, probably larger. Look at spark plug to see if it's running lean or rich.
I have alot of popping when I slow down in speed say 5mph does that mean it's too lean?

I used to use a plastic coffee can on my daughters Atv when it was muddy. Drill a couple holes and zip tie it to the carb

Can you put this on a 2 or3 hp horizontal briggs
The manifold may not fit and it may be too much carb for that engine, even with smaller jetting

You need to adjust you needle
The jets sold with the carbs are meant for 110cc bikes. When it goes on a 212 it needs rejetted
@justconcentrate9843 the needle is out of the main jet at WOT. The needle affects part throttle, from idle jet transition to main jet

I would try screw going out the idle screw in the side, turning off the choke. If no change, check the throttle cable for pulling too much.

I get a lot of severe kick back when starting .Its severe to point it makes its a drag to start it .
You should check your valve lash settings. That is a cause of hard pulling...along with many more but it's a good place to start.
I had this issue and it was because the cylinders had liquid somehow and weren’t able to compress. Use an air compressor or air blower and let it move the liquid out.
Also, I took out the spark plug and pulled the cable multiple times (kill switch in off position) to let any liquid come out of the pistons.
Put the clip back on over throtle cable.

My needle 😮has a spring on it way would they do that I can’t adjust it like you what we’re they thinking waist of money 💴 man. Maybe I bought the wrong carburetor for the predator 212 it all looks nice on the bike but won’t idle just wants to takeoff 🛫 😂with the idle all the way down.vacuum leak I sealed the carburetor up real good and hell I cot the gas screw all the way in and guess what it still wants to take off 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Genuine makuni carburetor are tuned perfectly just slap it on an go makuni GPS is a fake don't scam yourself
I can NEVER get with this style carb because the fuel/air adjustment screw sits on the bottom. ALWAYS swaps it out …PITA!!
One quick question. When i hook up the vacuum line that goes to the back of the crankcase it runs like crap. This is on a Tao Tao 120. It does run better with the vac or vent line open to atmosphere. Thanks

I have a chinese Mikuni clone that accepts mikuni main jets but keihin pwk pilot jets for some reason what number does mikuni pilot 15 and 17.5 translate to for keihin jets?
What do I do if new carb is leaking a ton of fuel from carb and from excess fuel tube ? Do I need to adjust my carb again maybe it’s o ring issue not lined up ? Or jet pin?
