Basically, taking laptop components, and turning them into fully-functional keyboards as a means of conserving resources and preventing e-waste from tossing out whole laptops even if much of the components outside the motherboard still have utility. Maybe Hipyo can make some fun videos about that Perhaps, taking a broken laptop and harvesting the display for a portable video solution, and keyboard / trackpad for input, then pairing it with a mini-PC to create an ersatz Mac Mini; moreso if an Intel-based machine can be hackintosh'd.
Can't do qmk support because that requires a mcu compatible with it such as atmega32u4, at90usb1286 etc. and if the laptops keyboard's mcu is able to flash qmk firmware onto it, you'd still need to put the laptops mcu into bootloader mode which is a challenge in itself. Those things just aren't designed for it. But putting the laptops keyboard inside a case to make it into a standalone keyboard is like kind of possible in theory. You'd need to find the dimensions for every angle of the keyboard, then could do something like 3d print a case for it, but It would be janky at best. Then you would need to figure out the ribbon cable situation. They're usually very short and unprotected. You'd need to find a compatible ribbon cable that's much longer, and ideally find a way to protect it since it's now exposed. I don't know everything in the world so I could be wrong and there could be an easier way, but overall, IMO it's not worth the effort.

Howdy hey! Can you please create a video explaining the QMK firmware customization tutorials for custom rgb patterns and other such custom implementations. Because to me the default rgb modes in keychron aren't working need some custom ones in there.
The creamy sound for me doesn't have the "ick" sound in Tick... this keyboard has a deep T but at the end it gives you the ick clearly. I think the Epomaker Galaxy 70 has a creamier sound, but there are some features that are missing, like a phisical switch for wifi to bluetooth and windows to mac. AND apparently the in software key combination switch bugs out when switching from mac to windows.
Ok, I want to give you a challenge, partially because I'm interested, partially for the lolz. Find a low-profile, tkl, silent keeb that's also afordable-ish. Extra point for hot-swappable and RGB
Have you tried out the ilovebee i61? Anyone here tried it? i'm looking for something in this price point that i can later use to upgrade and further customize. It'll mostly be used for SWE
I kinda do love my low profile keyboards. Mostly I love the responsive feeling they have due to the faster activation point and smaller bottom out. The typiing and gaming experience just feels way better. My current board is actually almost silent but the little sound it does have is just not very pleasant. I have one that sounds good but I didn't care for the switches and keycaps. Sadly feeling trumps sound any day. I did end up backing the melgeek made 84 pro, I have wanted to swap to hall effect switches for a while now. I think it will have the nice sounds combined with the responsive feeling I am used to. Especially since I have heard good things about the switches they are going to use.
I want the best low profile, low latency, hot swappable keyboard with RGB. I am currently using a Logitech MX Keys S. So, you have to beat that as starting point. I like the weight and a lot of things about this keyboard, however the keys get worn and shiny looking and they are not replaceable switches and keys really. BTW, I would prefer a 75%
One of the things that always makes me sad is wanting/needing a UK layout for keyboards. It seems to rule out almost all the nice things I see on this channel :(

Stock Keychron K3 with the built-in brown switches is my go-to portable creamy buddy :) not as silky as this tho but still nice
Hey Hipyo! A really great "creamy" keyboard on a budget is the "Ajazz Ak820 Pro". It's only about 30-40$ and sounds, and feels incredible.
Neo65, PC plate, Drop holy panda clears. You will get one of the best sounding "creamy" setups. Holy pandas are a must. Want more clack? akko yellow V3.
Also... lube it.
Oh wow. Creamy keyboards are now my favorite sound of a keyboard.
speaking of low profile keebs, will you upload a review on the lofree flow lite soon?
@@kanjeexd5482 been trying to get one but they changed staff so I lost my contact 😭
Can you try the abucow k68 keyboard? Ive been asking for 12 weeks.
Yo can y try the k101 blue switches mecanical 60% keybord ?
You should really talk about the number of Bluetooth devices you can connect to. I’ve been looking for a good keyboard that can connect to five or more devices and this is it!
Howdy hey! Can you please create a video explaining the QMK firmware customization tutorials for custom rgb patterns and other such custom implementations. Because to me the default rgb modes in keychron aren't working need some custom ones in there.
I don't like typing on low profile keyboards but this sounds really good. Hugs to Nola 💖
There’s something seriously wrong with people that like clicky boards. I wish my Xbox controller would be silent like the triggers
Hi hypio
Can you try to review the
DK240
This is an amazing little keyboard! I have one low profile in my collection and it is not this good. Sounds amazing! Great vid as always!
Have you tried out the ilovebee i61? Anyone here tried it? i'm looking for something in this price point that i can later use to upgrade and further customize.
It'll mostly be used for SWE
Sounds almost like raindrops. It's beautiful.
The board looks and sounds sick, but I agree with you, a 75% would be even better. I need that F row. Btw, is it QMK/VIA compatible?
It is VIA compatible, yes.
@@Blacksadify thanks for the reply. I don't remember if Hipyo mentioned it. I might have missed it, lol.
Hey! Will you be looking at the Crush 80? Thanks!
It seems to rule out almost all the nice things I see on this channel :(
thoughts on the ajazz ak820 Pro (people say its a competitor to the aula f75?
Hi Hipyo!
Recently discovered your channel in my desire to join the custom keyboard world. I have also discovered the Keychron K2 HE, it looks amazing to me in the white special edition, any chance you will be getting a hold of a Keychron K2 HE to review?
This looks great and sounds better, but I just can't deal with no F row. I am very tempted with a low profile keyboard after hearing this though
Hi Hypyo, please make a thocky switch comparison video please! xx
I love this switches. Does any one know where I can find stabs and switches? I would like to create custom board with that but lack of parts :/
Love the keyboard the sound and everything but I wish it had a Cap lock indicator.
Hey Hipyo, could you actually make a guide on how to make a keyboard sound creamy as you did for a thocky one? I couldn't find anything for it ... Only people saying you should go linear and I don't want to.
This is officially the MOST ANNOYING video I've ever watched. "Hey, want a creamy keyboard? Let me show you the creamiest sounding keyboard ever! Oh but im not going to let you find out how it actually sounds....ill just yap through the whole video and TELL you about how creamy it is. Oh....you want to actually HEAR it? No."
The sound is demonstrated in the last segment of the video :)
Hi Hipyo, could you do a video on silent fullsize keebs for losers like me? Or some easily moddable options like the Keychron V6/Q6 Max.
The Q6 is expensive as heck -.- Thinking about getting the V6 max because I'm too lazy to look for a good work keeb.
Ahhh Hipyo video on weekend feels like a treat. Wish the video was bit longer tho
