One thing you missed is that, lucas wasn't buffed during the volcano erupiton (it happens in a cutcene outside of battle) so you should have tried to see how mutch his buffs change him so we could get 100% true information on lucas' defence.
We did take that into account, we just didn't present the feat that way since we were trying to give the baseline of what he had done.
Did you factor in the magypsies’ mementos, the items that pretty much serve as auto revives?
Love the way how pretty much everything in these characters move sets are used. Makes for way more interesting fights

A really fun fight. My favorite part is when Lucas beating wario in rhythm with the music. It was a really nice touch there.
I don't think it was fair how Wario teamed up with the pig mask army to beat Lucas. :(

I was really rooting for Lucas, but I figured wario would take it more often than not. I'm glad it was at least closer than I expected though
It’s crazy how close this is. But I think Lucas really only wins based on good luck, while Wario has much more consistency. I think if they both fought eachother 100 times, Wario would win 52 times. I also think that no two matches would be alike. Wario’s sheer variety of attacks and abillities along with Lucas’s luck based attacks and different potential strategies to use would cause their matchup to be one of the most fun to watch (outside of smash bros).
However if we weren’t going off of real world logic, Wario is super unlucky. If this scenario was set in the Mario universe instead of ours, Lucas would probably win like 80% of the time just. Mostly just due to Wario’s lack of luck.

I disappointed tho because Lucas Learned PK Fire PK Freeze PK Thunder and PSI Magnet already by help of Kumatora. I think they should count this tho. Maybe he would be able to beat wario. But still Psychic is strongest ability to me. If Lucas was advanced his ability who knows maybe Lucas would use PK Destroy Move which takes out enemy one hit. We can't see without trying also i think Lucas losed because he bothered Wario and wario didn't gave any harms. Lucas's Real personality is not fit that. He wouldn't attack someone without a reason
This is one of my favorite Smash Brackets now! It had a great use of both of their abilities and their analyses were some of my favorites particularly how you went over their stories.

This was a fun episode, I got to learn so much about lucas that I never knew before and the animation was fun and wacky and just about everything that was covered in research was used in the animation. The only negative is Lucas voice, it does not sound like a child at all. It's also just jarring in general because I'm so used to people using the brawl voice but eh whatever. It's also cool to see an RPG character lose in smash bracket for once.. I thought they would be the smash equivalent of the DC and Marvel from death battle.

@@windwafernow149 i got the impression lucas would only be around 12-13 even post-timeskip though _(him and claus's sprites pre-timeskip are very small and seem more in-line with the young kids of mother 2 while lucas's post-timeskip sprite seems more in-line with ness's appearance)_

You did an amazing job Lucas! Still a winner to me! I am pretty alright with most of the combo's in Mother 3 but there are a few songs where I don't even bother trying to combo. I love the music in Mother 3 so the combo's are mostly easy for me.

I think that Lucas analysis might have just made other characters with deep inventories far more difficult to handle.

Alright, that's a good one.
Though for the battle, Wario probably wins more consistently due to being stronger and being able to rush down his opponent. Lucas has tons of hax/luck win conditions though, notably one-shot tools and what nonsense Lucas could have if we let him bring all the equipment he'd need. It's probably more fair Wario wins through his stats than Lucas getting a lucky PK Flash KO (that's much more reliable in Smash Bros though).
A bit funny that these two characters were given attacks they never showed in their games into Smash though, notably Earthbound's games borrowing from the 2nd PK user, and Wario's waft came from Brawl I believe, and it's also in Winter Olympics DS. Did he even fart in his games?
They went through the physical stats, but they didn’t scale Lucas’s Psi attacks or Pk attacks.

These characters seem _so_ different and yet this was actually pretty close with both sides being almost evenly matched in the absurdity of their abilities. Bravo.

Great episode! I can't believe how close this fight was. Makes sense that Wario wins since he has what he needs to clinch it more often than not and offense is the best defense in that scenario.
I would honestly would say Yoshi would win. He is definitely faster, has more experience and can throw back pretty much anything Banjo could throw at him.
Durability is kinda even and they both definitely have ways to counter eachother (both can become Invincible and boost their stats) but Yoshi can do it more so and let's be real, if he can put up with Marios weight and behaviour then there's nothing he can't deal with.
I agree I do think Yoshi takes it. The only thing I’d question is how Yoshi beats Banjo’s regen. The duo can get literally squashed by a giant dinosaur and just pop back together. Like their bones get literally crushed and they’re fine 5 seconds later. If Yoshi can get past that, which I think he probably can, he can win

@@danielmatson3940 Lucas can use PK flash and new year's eve bomb to make sure he isn't gonna stay immortal while Lucas can stay for a long time with the 8 magypsies' momento(which fully heals his HP when he gets incapacitated)
Well that goes to show that Wario is number one but next time, oh hell yeah, time for my Smash main to take center stage and nothing against Banjo & Kazooie since I do like those two as well but when Yoshi gets involved, I am pulling for my literal namesake, my main in Smash and my all time favorite male video game character to win the next time.

If you are trying to get Lucas's power by exploring Mr. Genetor's durability... You should know that Mr. Genetor's Max HP is 3333, and the last boss we see to be completely destroyed like Mr. Genetor - N. K. Cyborg, this machine of devil has about 7500 Max HP. And it is also a metal enemy, like Mr. Genetor. So Lucas's endgame strength is about 2 times bigger, which gives Lucas good chances against Wario if Lucas properly uses Offense and Defense Up(each can be used 3 times).
My bets on Wario, he's basically indestructible in his series. He's been set on a fire and walked it off.
Cool video! Very thorough and I like that it takes into account a bunch of different elements from each game, rather than just going with what they do in Smash.
I'm going to respectfully disagree/come up with something to consider about an aspect of the results. Spoilers below to those who didn't finish:
So, I think one of the big arguments for Wario was that his win conditions came more consistently than Lucas's more luck-based ones. However, Wario pulled out a lot of power ups and abilities from different games through the fight. Wario gets power ups/vehicles by finding them or usually just has one as the main gimmick for a single game or something. I don't think Wario would typically come to a battle having everything ready on standby. Lucas, on the other hand, has a lot always at his disposal naturally; while he might not always carry something like the honey shower, he will always have the ability to heal, and use PK Love, or offense up, or whatever. Wario COULD find everything he needs and use it, or he might not find anything. Lucas might pick up some life noodles, he might not, but he will always have his psychic abilities. So with that being said, I'd say Lucas is the more consistent one. If we're to assume Wario comes prepared for this scenario with all his power ups, vehicles, and transformations, I think it's also fair to consider the possibility of Lucas just using PK Flash or NYE bombs until they work, which isn't all too unlikely if you use them a few times.

Ok I'm confused, the reason Lucas lost in the fight was because of him getting unlucky with a 5% chance of something happening. I feel like that should be an alternate ending. Also Lucas is able to dodge something moving at the speed of light, yet he can't dodge warioman. You also included wario's best move but completely ignored the new year's bomb. This feels kind of unfair to Lucas. Is there something I'm missing?
Wario is immortal so he was nerfed too.
Wow, Wario was kinda heavily nerfed in this fight, but i guess smash bracket rules really unintentionally nerfs characters, but at the same time gives huge advantages to RPG characters since their status effects are treated as actual abilities rather than outliers because pretty much most rpg characters can do that
Yeah, RPG characters get the huge buff because of status effects etc but they also have the nerf of normally only having one game's worth of abilities to pull from.
Great match, I think the GBA icon was the correct verdict. As for the next match…
Banjo-Kazooie vs Yoshi
With scaling, I’d say Yoshi stomps easily but this is Smash Bracket so it’s not quite as cut and dry. Right now I’m leaning Banjo & Kazooie due to their aerial superiority, they can fly and fight simultaneously, Yoshi can’t. Stuck on the ground, Yoshi has to chuck his eggs at BK and hope he manages to tag them with a fairly limited supply of eggs compared to BK’s large supply of various egg ammos. Toss in the Magic Wrench and it gets even harder for Yoshi to keep up, with a variety vehicles that can fly, equipped with a slew of weapons, gadgets and other defensive options.
I'm actually thinking Yoshi. For Banjo and Kazooie's edge, I do think they have better mobility, variety, and way more ammo. However, Yoshi has the painfully easy win condition of simply eating them, since that's an instant kill in canon, and I don't think B&K have a big enough advantage to win without that happening most of the time. Seriously, the range on that tongue in Galaxy 2 is absurd. Also, Yoshi can turn himself into vehicles for a time, including a helicopter, as well as a few of his Mario World power-ups letting him fly normally, so he's not completely stranded on the ground.
If I'm remembering right, Kazooie can slam down onto boulders with her beak hard enough to destroy them, while Yoshi can destroy boulders with his egg explosions.
@@browncow5210 I'm not completely certain that swallowing them would 100% work, it's somewhat inconsistent in games as it one-shots weak enemies like goombas and shyguys, but not hammer bros, chargin chucks or characters like baby bowser and kamek.
I hate it when the bad guy beats the good guy in these fights... it was a good fight anyways
i mean to be fair lucas was the aggressor here, wario's microgames weren't necessarily doing anything wrong and he kind of just attacked him on the basis he looked like fassad in terms of selling people stuff _(which i don't think is a thing lucas would do but they did have to start the fight)_

@Deidalius To be fair, most works of fiction don't depict light beams accurately to real life. It's pretty hard to determine them as solid measuring sticks for a character's abilities when the context of the dodge matters way more than whatever makes up the glowing beam that's being fired in their direction.
Anyway, both these characters work with cartoon physics, so it was pretty much dead even. Wario just had an slightly greater win rate overall.

@2fast 4u Reaction speed still matters a hell of a lot in versus you must understand. With the speed they gave Wario, if they gave Lucas those reactions then Wario couldn't even touch him.

Odds are are he dodged before it was shot. Part of the rules involve scrutiny of outliers and sence he hasn't even been shown to do the speed of sound, this would apply.

The Magypsies' mementos should have revived Lucas multiple times, and Lucas would have used PK refresh/healing abilities for long enough to realize what strategy he should be using against Wario.

Wario actually does have a fart attack, but I have seen it in only one game and it was hardly a Smash level explosion.
In Mario Strikers (a soccer/football game), the team gets items and power-ups including special captain abilities.
These abilities range from Mario's temporary giant form to DK's AOE shockwave ground pound.
Wario's ability is to leave a trail of green gas behind him. Anyone who runs into the gas will have the controls reversed as the character is coughing and gaging from the cloud.
I don't think it would make a big difference in the results, but I can see it weaponised if used correctly. From the opponent getting startled (wtf?) to reacting negatively to the smell (Ugh! Yuck! Cough, cough!).

In the next battle I am 99% that Yoshi wins, why? simple yoshi has many incredible feats one of which is being able to push back with his giant eggs and beat super baby bowser and super bowser and since once he fought against the current bowser he had achieved other incredible feats only for yoshi to beat him in The same way as in the past is already incredible and many other feats but it is very obvious who wins and well then this banjo that has not done much, maybe its most impressive feat was to beat grutilda (or whatever it is called) 2 times but I don't know anything about bolts and nuts

I wonder how the fight would have changed if Lukas had spammed PK Flash like his mains spam his special moves. If he has a 10% chance to instantly win, it might not take much spamming.
