Agreed. While I did not mind the prehistoric locusts being a subplot in the film and felt they did somewhat tie into Crichton’s themes, the Mesozoic reptiles still needed to be a primary driving force of the plot. I have always felt that the writers could have at least set it up, so that Dodgson was planning a mass sale of BioSyn dinosaur embryos on the world’s black markets, which would have also made the ecological disturbances worse if our protagonists did not uncover it. That way, the BioSyn locusts would have not been the only looming threat, and that ending with Earth’s ecosystems better adjusting to the dinosaurs could have felt more earned (since the protagonists had to intervene to stop it from getting worse, rather than the problem seemingly sorting itself out with their adventure having little impact on it). To take it a step further, I always felt this could have also been an opportunity to make the T-Rex vs. Giga conflict more relevant. Rather than inventing an ancient rivalry that never existed, Dodgson could have planned to stage a fight between his Giga and Rexy, so he could broadcast it to black market dealers as his sales pitch for BioSyn’s products overtaking InGen’s legacy. And just like that, the fight between the two large carnivores has more tie-ins with the broader story and its stakes.
The worst part is Colin teased the Giga to be some joker like villain who wants to watch the world burn only for it to do nothing the entire movie. I really don't know why they even killed the giganotosaurus anyways lol.
and the giga wasn't even a villain. he's the most normal-acting carnivore in the entire JW series which just makes his monstrous appearance kind of ironic

Thank you for mentioning the set up for the Mosa killing the Indominus, although I wish you mentioned the use of Chekov’s gun with the reintroduction of Rexy in JW. Comparatively, the Giga gets one mention by Ramsay as the camera pans down to him sleeping in the forest…then the Giga and Rexy have a cat fight pretty midway through the movie…and then we’re supposed to believe that’s enough for them to have a full blown rivalry. The Prologue doesn’t even help with this because the Giga was also kinda just hanging out before Cretaceous Rex wanted to fight them.

To be honest I was disappointed with Dr Wu's redemption arc at the end. It felt too basic and it could have been much better. One idea I thought of after watching the film is that there is a scenario where Dodgson takes Maisie Lockwood away from the main cast to bargain for his escape (presumably he puts a gun to her head). Dr Woo is supposed to come with him and restart his projects on the locusts and maybe he has a specimen to take with him that is the closest he has come to replicating what Maisie's mum did. They get attacked by a dinosaur and Dodgson manages to escape into the hyper loop but Woo and Maisie are left trapped outside, the dinosaur has Maisie cornered and Dr Woo has a chance to escape through another door with his work but he decides to help Maisie instead and gets fatally wounded before the main cast come along, and the dinosaur is killed by the character who flies shit. Dr Woo dies but tells Maisie about his latest work and they are able to take it with them away from the sanctuary leading to the same final resolution but Dr Woo died in the end. My idea with this is that Dr Woo finally realizes all his experiments have somehow gone wrong at some point and he makes the moral choice to save Maisie instead of repeating the same mistakes that have already led to so much death and destruction. I also think it gives more of a point to the way he opens up to Maisie, maybe he feels guilty about what happened to her mother and thinks this is a way of redeeming himself.
jurassic world dominion feels like those stop motion or animated jurassic park 4 videos made by fans in a pre-jurassic world era except dominion is an actual blockbuster and not a fanmade video that someone made in their desk
When they said something about going to "dinosaur fucking island" I got pissed off, like, If my little sister wasn't sitting right next to me in the theater, I would've said out loud, "Oh fuck off" and left
I haven't watched the whole podcast yet, but this video is a good summation of Dominion & its problems. I especially like thhe Star Wars analogy, which I had never thought of, but makes sense. BTW, any plans to review the prologue, the Dinosauria series, or Prehistoric Planet?
I thought exactly the same thing on the final battle like I was expecting a fair 1v1 rematch that would last more than just a few minutes and perhaps even include Rexy finding out the giga’s weak point if she were to win but no of course the poor blind and lost therizinosaurus had to waddle it’s way in and end the battle in the most cliche matter also I heard that they were originally gonna use the pyro instead basically having every intention to copy the first jw movie smh overall I won’t say it’s just a bad movie it did have some interesting aspects and plot lines but gallimimus deserved more screen time than just the literal 5 seconds it got
I liked it more than fallen kingdom for me this movie is like a 6.5 not amazing but not horrible just ehh the same way the rise of skywalker was just ehh in fact they share a lot of the same issues weird pacing, major plot stuff being set up in stupid ways, things not being explained, and lots of “go here and do this” and then never bring it back up or have it not mean anything in the long run. Also a lot of the dinosaurs only have 1 or 2 scenes/segments which is fine unless it’s the Dino that kills the villain, is the villain, or has a decent amount of marketing around it.
When a swarm of locusts is more important and integrated in a Jurassic World plot than any of the dinosaurs, you have a problem. I dont understand the thought process there.
I disagree with the fact that you said "If rexy finds giga why's he not killing it?" It's because dinosaurs don't fight for no reason. They're animals not monsters. Also Dominion wasn’t completely trash but It's also not the best
Dominion was fuckin terrible... they are ruining the JP franchise. It's like all they care about anymore are the dinos fighting... this is not what JP is supposed to be about...
I mean to be fair it has a turtle head on the promotional posters and for some reason looks like a zombie so i can't blame them lol, the design looks awful
When I first saw this movie in the theatres with my dad, we both left unsatisfied. We just left the theatre thinking… “What the fuck did we just watch?”
Make a review on the movie "Dinosaur World" I'm not tripping, there's an actual movie named that and I would love to see you shit on it. One of the actors names is Steven He if you are having trouble finding it.
Jurassic World: Dinosaurs with feathers aren't scary. Fans: Yes they are! Jurassic World: Fine, I guess we'll try Pyroraptor: END MY SUFFERING KREEEEAEEAEEAEEAEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHH
I don't understand the scene where the Therizinosaurus quietly kills the deer without being noticed by sneaking up behind that deer. That scene makes no sense to me and I don't understand why Theri would act like that because it's so unnatural way behave. Some have explained that it would be because the Theri is a territorial animal and the deer was an intruder in its territory, but the territorial animals that I know so far always give a warning and try to scare the intruder away before they attack.
Honestly instead of having the most animalistic dino in franchise being Giganotosaurus be the threat, why not bring back the fucking Spino, that mf was a huge threat in Jurassic Park 3 so it'll be cool to see it on the big screen again
It looks a lot better than the first Jurassic World, but that's not saying much. It's like the Last Jedi being the best of the Star Wars sequels. Yeah, it's better than the Force Awakens. That's not hard, and it doesn't make it NOT bad.
Dominion was so bad i need to watch all 5 episodes of prehistoric planet 3 times over just to wash my brains off from that movie btw prehistoric planet review when
Ok im really hoping we get the Version Colin teased us , he said there was like 42 minutes of content cut from the theatrical release that would be added so get yours hope up
I love this movie but for some reason the treat it like the therizinosaurus is a popular or well-known dinosaur but I can't seem to think that this many people have seen the dino king or chased by dinosaurs or any of those tfilms and documentaries.
"you that build up to weaponized dinosaurs from the last 2 movies? yeah lets just completely dump that and make the movie about agriculture and CRIKETS!"
The Star Wars comparison seems very apt. Now I think I know how fans of that franchise felt. I'm so fatigued with the Jurassic Park/World series. It's had all the originality and creativity bled out of it
Both Prehistoric Planet and Jurassic World Dominion, ad least, for me, are ultimate masterpieces !! I love both equally !!! Therizinosaurus is freakin' awesome !!! He trully steal the show !!! Jurassic World Dominion in a nutshell: A giant middle finger to the fan's.
2:36 How did they not realize that was therizinosaurus.
jurassic world dominion feels like those stop motion or animated jurassic park 4 videos made by fans in a pre-jurassic world era except dominion is an actual blockbuster and not a fanmade video that someone made in their desk
When they said something about going to "dinosaur fucking island" I got pissed off, like, If my little sister wasn't sitting right next to me in the theater, I would've said out loud, "Oh fuck off" and left
Man, I loved it when Rexy said „It’s rexin‘ time“ and rexed all over the bad guys.
I haven't watched the whole podcast yet, but this video is a good summation of Dominion & its problems. I especially like thhe Star Wars analogy, which I had never thought of, but makes sense. BTW, any plans to review the prologue, the Dinosauria series, or Prehistoric Planet?
Most movies these days are just remakes of films from the 80s - 90s. I'm surprised there hasn't been a Jaws remake. YET.
@@wetube6513 I think it's unlikely Jaws will get a remake considering how that film is perceived negatively nowadays.
I want to see... a movie in which when a dinosaur dies it compulses instead of turning into a ragdoll, let's do it
The theri in the climax is like an old man wandering into a shoot out
I thought exactly the same thing on the final battle like I was expecting a fair 1v1 rematch that would last more than just a few minutes and perhaps even include Rexy finding out the giga’s weak point if she were to win but no of course the poor blind and lost therizinosaurus had to waddle it’s way in and end the battle in the most cliche matter also I heard that they were originally gonna use the pyro instead basically having every intention to copy the first jw movie smh overall I won’t say it’s just a bad movie it did have some interesting aspects and plot lines but gallimimus deserved more screen time than just the literal 5 seconds it got
The giga fans were insulted so hard in this movie by the theri.
as a giga fan i agree, they didn't give the one in movie the real life giga chad chin
The plot was so stupid and the way everything happened just felt so off
When a swarm of locusts is more important and integrated in a Jurassic World plot than any of the dinosaurs, you have a problem. I dont understand the thought process there.
dominion was boring imo
I disagree with the fact that you said "If rexy finds giga why's he not killing it?" It's because dinosaurs don't fight for no reason. They're animals not monsters. Also Dominion wasn’t completely trash but It's also not the best
it's hilarious that people are memeing on these sequels with jp1memes/references lmao.
I 100% agreed with Rick that all the dinosaurs are blind in the movie.
The sprite smiling at the very end was way funnier than it should have been to me
It’s entertainingly bad
Morbius>>>>>>>>>>
But I still liked JWD
Lol!😂
I love this video and still enjoyed the movie so that's awesome
Also I wish yall had a great day
Dominion was fuckin terrible... they are ruining the JP franchise. It's like all they care about anymore are the dinos fighting... this is not what JP is supposed to be about...
I think dino crisis did the therizinosaurus better, they freak me out every time I met one in a hallway.
The giga didn't do anything he just killed a rex and they immediately made him into a villain
I’m happy to see something from you again. This makes me wanna watch these movies, despite the fact I feel 0 interest
Hey there Rick you have a great day and keep doing what you doing
Worst Jurassic Park/World movie ever!
Honesty I enjoyed this movie far more than I did with Fallen Kingdom, yes it does have a few flaws but I still think it deserves a 6.5/10
TFW people thought Therizinosaurus wasn't a real dinosaur. 😬
I mean to be fair it has a turtle head on the promotional posters and for some reason looks like a zombie so i can't blame them lol, the design looks awful
I'm seeing a pattern with the last movie in these sequel trillogy.
When I first saw this movie in the theatres with my dad, we both left unsatisfied. We just left the theatre thinking… “What the fuck did we just watch?”
Therizinosaurus and giganotosaurus: exist
Linkin park and one-eye
I think reason why Dominion has a wierd pacing is because the original was 6 hours .
Make a review on the movie "Dinosaur World" I'm not tripping, there's an actual movie named that and I would love to see you shit on it. One of the actors names is Steven He if you are having trouble finding it.
they gave the Giganotosaurus a villain death just bc he literally behaved like f´+king real animal. Dude, poor "Joker" of Jurassic World.
Nice Opinion
I love podcasts.
Jurassic World: Dinosaurs with feathers aren't scary.
Fans: Yes they are!
Jurassic World: Fine, I guess we'll try
Pyroraptor: END MY SUFFERING KREEEEAEEAEEAEEAEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHH
I feel like the movie got more boring the more I think about it. I still like it but it feels rather aimless for most of it.
The movie didn't even feel like a jurassic movie
3:00 - 3:30 i died 😂😂
Hmmm sounds like a Luxembourgish accent may I ask Mr. Rick Raptor….. what were you and the Luxembourg royals doing in the Congo?? 🤨
Well at leats this was not as bad as JWFK
THERE IS GONNA BE JURASSIC GAMES 2!!!!!! Yaaaaaaay
Dominion was so bad i need to watch all 5 episodes of prehistoric planet 3 times over just to wash my brains off from that movie
btw prehistoric planet review when
I actually enjoyed it first watch. I may change my mind later but first thing I said was “oh well it was better than the second one”
Ok im really hoping we get the Version Colin teased us , he said there was like 42 minutes of content cut from the theatrical release that would be added so get yours hope up
Will probably be more human stuff, nothing else.
More Jurassic park rap offs please
I love this movie but for some reason the treat it like the therizinosaurus is a popular or well-known dinosaur but I can't seem to think that this many people have seen the dino king or chased by dinosaurs or any of those tfilms and documentaries.
Gonna be honest, the fact that they never Name drop the theri just seems kinda lazy.
But they definitely have needs to point like 3 times out how Giganotosaurus is biggest predator ever.
@@ExtremeMadnessX (if you ignore that canonically the Indom, which wasn’t actually fully grown, would’ve been atleast a meter longer than it.)
Yeah, I think people owe the Star Wars sequel trilogy an apology.
I want you to review Walking With Dinosaurs: Ballad of Big Al
I’m happy to see something from you again. This makes me wanna watch these movies, despite the fact I feel 0 interest
I’ve heard that the gigs in the movie is so inaccurate that some people might think that it’s just another one of the hybrids.
2:37 at least they didn’t refer to the Giga as *”Giganto”*
"you that build up to weaponized dinosaurs from the last 2 movies? yeah lets just completely dump that and make the movie about agriculture and CRIKETS!"
GOOD
The Star Wars comparison seems very apt. Now I think I know how fans of that franchise felt. I'm so fatigued with the Jurassic Park/World series. It's had all the originality and creativity bled out of it
Such is the fate of nearly all franchises. They either die young, or live past their expiration date.
Sup my niga
lol kotm had so much fanservice too but that was still a good movie on its own
It wasn't. Maybe not fk or do-minion level of cinematic atrocities but still.
Oxygen destroyer scene alone is enough to realise how awful it is.
We need an og land of the lost review
I thought the movie was alright ( not good but alright) .
I didnt mind it but it rushed in the action to quick like jp3
Review Genndy Tartavoski’s PRIMAL
Both Prehistoric Planet and Jurassic World Dominion, ad least, for me, are ultimate masterpieces !! I love both equally !!! Therizinosaurus is freakin' awesome !!! He trully steal the show !!! Giganotosaurus and Quetzalcoatlus are also awesome !!! 🥰 But more than anything, I have total and true respect If anyone not like the movie or any designs ... After all, everyone has It own opinion !!! 👍🏻
nice rhyme
I liked it
IMO, movie was way better than JW2 and slightly better than JP3, but apart from that its alright I guess. I feel like the story did not advance at ALL during the actual movie. At least fallen kingdom brought the dinosaurs to the mainland.
also wtf the Theri was just there for no reason. Like was this asshole really just sitting there while Rexy and the giga fought.
Also THOSE BLUE RUNNING ANIMATION WTF, CGI was so shit.
Well I unlike you rick dosent Care about Much of this movie
2:29 Ok I disagree with you there. To the best of my memory, they definitely said Therizinosaurus's name at least once in the movie.
You're gonna have to remind me because I saw it and they never said it once.
I have no idea when they could’ve mentioned it. It only appeared with Claire and then the fight at the end. Unless Ramsay mentioned it to Alan and Ellie offhandedly in the helicopter ride
They definitely didn't, the Theri gets no name drop at all. I don't think the Pyroraptor and other species i'm forgetting get name drops too.
@@Rajastega Barry mentions Atrociraptor by name, and Kayla mentions the Quetz and Giga by name. Also Ramsay mentions Moros. But Lystro, Theri, Pyro, and Dimetrodon are given no acknowledgment.
@@Rajastega The only creatures that (I think) get mentioned in the entire film are Atrociraptor, Dreadnoughtus, Giganotosaurus (Ew), Moros, Quetzalcoatlus, Tyrannosaurus, and Blue (Not sure even the word "Velociraptor" was mentioned. No "Raptor" doesn't count.) And Beta Ig.
