I like to alternate between treadmill and elliptical. If I do use the elliptical, I crank up the resistance. For the treadmill I crank up the incline. I’m not a runner, but I walk fast. I always try to control my heart rate to get the best fat burn. I also will do high intensity periods and easier recovery periods. It’s been working great for me. Gotta put in the effort. My goals are more for endurance and cardio to lower my blood pressure and not so much about losing weight, although it’s a plus when I do lose weight
Good choice :) but also consider some knee strengthening exercises of you want to keep running into your routine. Let me know if you need help deciding which exercises work best for you 🙂
Good advice, take it 😀 but if I were you, I'd take a few classes with a trainer to show me around the gym and make sure I use the machines properly 😀 plus, they may show you other exercisea for your knee. Let me know how it works out!!
I'm reaching, 25. I'm a pear shape, I spend lots of time seated, like hours... I want to have something that I can fit in my room that enables me to kind of "multi task" like putting an hour of episode while going through with the work out. So far, i don't have pain. I'd like slimmer and tighter lower body. What's the recommendation? Thanks for producing this video!
For your age and needs, treadmill to get some steps in and some weight-bearing exercise for your bones. Second place, bike (but assault bike if you dare 😀). Hope I helped, let me know what you end up with!
This is a little deceiving as with walking it's been shown to burn more fat with less potential damage than jogging, running, or cycling, not sure about stepping. I cycled daily for 10 miles (1 hour, about 11mph), then every other day for 15 miles (1.5 hours about 11 mph) from may to September and didn't lose a bit. Yes I got stronger but no weight loss. Then I took a job at a gas station w multiple food availability and lost a bunch walking all over on the job daily, and my stomach flattened in the process with no change in diet.
"I got stronger but no weight loss" --> that's your muscles developing. Weight loss through cardio alone can decrease your muscle mass. That means the number on the scales are lower, but you're also less strong. But that said, walking and staying active throughout the day are genuinely the best ways to lose weight consistently. I would also personally add some strength training 2x per week to ensure I'm not losing muscle mass
Yes that’s 100% Correct working out on the Cross Trainer and been doing 20.000 steps per day and have lost 20kg ! I’ve lost and gained more on the elliptical over the others… Best is a combination of 45 minutes on the Elliptical and 45 minutes walking on the treadmill 👍🏾
1) Walking 2) Jogging is for fat loss, weight loss and endurance. 3) Cycling is just for thigh muscle, no use for fat or weight loss. 4) Elliptical also in between walking and cycling but not as effective as walking.
i am at 200 pounds and i started gym. after 2 weeks i am at 196 pounds. but somedays my weight increases and someday decreases. what should i do? i eat around 1700 calories per day....
Calculate your macros to ensure you're OK with 1700 calories. Stay active throughout the day even if you're going to the gym. It's more important to walk, fidget, play with your kids/pets. Drink lots of water. Account for the fact that you might be gaining muscles as well. Also, weight fluctuates monthly according to hormones etc. It's more important to stay consistent instead of checking your weight daily. Better yet, just check your measurements once per month :) and be patient, 2 wees is still just a tiny period
Your weight will fluctuate as you lose weight, that's normal. I like using a ketone breath meter every morning just to check to make sure I'm burning fat. And I try to eat a low fat diet.
For fat burn, there is nothing better than running or treadmill. Elliptical - moderate fat burn and moderate muscle gain. Bike - moderate fat burn and lower body muscle gain.
I like the elliptical machine the best. I love to ride the bike outside though. The elliptical machine is great for older people because it is easy on the joints.
Thank you, that's a great point! My thought was that getting fit is more than just about a generic caloric burn; you also need to build muscle, have fun, etc. That's why I picked this format
Fitnessdy, I need an advice, I'm weighing between these three equipment to find the right one for my needs. I'm not the one who is in love with exercising to say the least, I'm 58, not a diabetic but my sugar level due to my age is not as good as it used to be, my goal is, after having a meal (breakfast/lunch/dinner) and before I sit down on a sofa I'd like to burn some calories first, so what do you think would be the best option to me out of these 3 devices, which one is the best calorie burner?
I would choose the treadmill. It's the most versatile and offers a good calorie burn even with brisk walking. The bike would be great if you don't like exercise, too, but not as good for bone density. Let me know what you end up choosing!!
Thanks so much my son got me a gym membership and I'm a big girl my chiropractor told me to start with this wish me luck. Thanks to you I want look goofy
Please reply iam 78 kg woman.if i do manual treadmill walking for 30 minutes how much calorie will burn how many times we can use tread mill in one day.
Here's a good calculator you can use. Check different speeds and inclines and you'll get a very accurate answer: www.treadmillcalculator.com/ As for how many times you can use the treadmill in one day - as many as you feel like :) Just make sure you're not excessively tired or sore. If your goal is to lose weight, I recommend doing the 12-3-30 treadmill walking plan. That means incline 12, speed 3 mph (meaning aprox 5 km/ h) and 30 minutes :) Let me know how it goes!!
I prefer walking and treadmill but since the elliptical is way more quiet (I'm in an apartment) I had to start with that. It still feels okay and I can walk outside in good weather. And do yoga to get some more variation. Not sure if that helps bone density.
You're getting a great mix there for cardio and mobility. But for bone density, the best exercises are plyometrics (jumping in general) and lifting heavy. Walking is also good for bone density, but you can consider sprinkling some sprints during your run, too for some added benefits 🙂
You just might 😀 I'm honestly in love with deep core exercises that activate the transverse abs. They really work to snatch your waist, sometimes better than crunches. For example, farmer's carries or rotational lunges are great. Elipticals can work your balance too, if you're not holding onto the handles (but be careful if yoi're a beginner!) And let me know how this works!!
i do treadmill for 25 minutes on a speed between 6-7 with a incline of 12 crosstrainer and cycle for 15-20 minutes each is that enough for losing weight?
Yes, that's enough! You can do just one at a time instead of all in one session. And then squeeze in a few strength and mobility exercises for good measure.
It's actually true. One guy - a fitness trainer - did it. But of course, you can't burn 80kcal/min during a 30-min workout. This kind of intense effort is just during the anaerobic phase - 2 minutes max www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-5065821/Assault-Air-exercise-bike-burns-80-calories-minute.html

Thank you. I was wondering which was the best for my needs and apartment space. Very informative and interesting
I'm glad I could help. Soooo what are you getting btw?
Great bike. This is belt driven which results in far less noise and requires less maintenance as compared to the chain driven model.
I’m a runner, but my knees are killing me… I might start using the elliptical.

Elliptical! Hybrid of stationary bike and a treadmill
Ellipticals rank third for me 😅 but thank you for sharing your preference. At the end of the day, whatever gets us moving is great!!

Any recommendations on sub $200 on a budget trying to upgrade my garage gym lol
Mini stair stepper 👍 great and cheap cardio machine

Sciatic
It should be fine then, but it's best to ask your doctor too
