I'm a 32 year old guy, depressed and all that classic mental health stuff. I bought a workout bike and it was the best decision i ever made. I ride 3-4 times a week and take weekends off. My rule is if i get on my bike IT MUST BE FOR 30 MIN MINIMUM. I average 60 minutes and usually 25-30 miles. My self esteem is pretty much non existent and I got this bike to help make me feel good again. About my body and my mind. It was hard to accept that wont change over night. But here I am slowly but surly making progress. However I cant help but feel like im destroying my balls by riding my bike as hard as i do. 🤣
Well, if you're destroying them, at least you'll have another body part in more pain than your mind 😅 excuse the dark humor. I really am glad you've taken the time to write this and I hope you know you're a strong af human being for deciding to fight your depression. Or, at the very least, learn to live your best life with it. You're genuinely an inspiraton 🩵💪💪💪
@@Fitnessdy its ok! i call my workout bike my "anti suicide device" lol . Id rather have a will to live even if it means crushing my balls for an hour while i ride my bike. 🤣
From someone who's 72 years old...you are so young. I'm glad you have begun exercising. Stay positive and never berate yourself. You are God's great creation. If you do just one kind thing for someone else, you make a difference. Others aren't always grateful but that's on them. And I agree --the bicycle seat is a bummer even on the female anatomy😂
Excellent video, I started stationary bike 3 weeks ago and have lost 4 pounds and feel great doing it 30 min. every day and control what I'm eating I feel great and love it. I'm 75 year woman. Your video is great and I'm going to apply it, I'm going to do weights every other day because I don't want to have loose skin. Thanks a lot!!
You're welcome and I'm so happy I helped. Know that doing weights will help you with so much more than loose skin. Think bone density, faster metabolism, better balance, lower risk of injury, lower overall risk of chronic illness ❤️ you'll love the changes you'll see!
Do you feel like your life is almost over as a person that age? Or do you still feeling like you still have alot left to live and to live for? And would say was your greatest life lesson?
I'm breathing better way better, due to anxiety i have hard time breathing, brain fog and fatigue, riding stationary bike have helped me to feel better all the ways possible for me it's not for the looks is for my brain I need dopamine, oxytocin and serotonin
I purchased my spin bike and my 2-1 folding walking running treadmill a month and a half ago to stay active as I noticed my health had gotten slightly worse since covid and to stop me from constantly sitting on my sofa doing nothing all day everyday and It was the best decision I had ever made. I feel so much better since having them I'm on my treadmill 30 to 40mins a day and my bike 20 to 30mins my breathing and stamina has improved it gets easier every time, compared to when I first started I feel more worthy in myself.
I recently got a spin bike in starting slow maybe 25 minutes a day at low speed so far I have already noticed better circulation in my legs I’m 62 feeling way better great video
Hi john Im 65 and just ordered an exercise bike from Argos in the UK I've never heard of a spin bike I thought you just got on and Pedal them i would be most grateful if you explain what a spin bike is please.
I just purchased a crane foldable exercise bike. I suffered a stroke a year ago. So I pray that this bike will assist me in my recovery. The information that you provided was excellent and thank you.
I found this video while researching how much weight I can lose on exercise bikes, thank you for sharing. Now to search for the best, affordable bike for me.
Love this. I bike 3 to 4 days a week for 35-60 minutes super fast and up the resistance. It helps my anxious mind. It has taken me a couple of years to get up to 35mph on it. But now it is easier. I push it so that I get a good work out.
i bought a second hand stationary bike (since I can't afford a new one, I'm a student). It is cheap and light, but the bad side of it is that I can't change the resistance. So I wear a "heavy" resistance band during my bike workouts, and I feel my legs working with it
I was 79 kgs and inorder to loose weight I started to do vigrous cycling and running in morning and evening for 2 months in monsoon , my appetite was not balanced, but now I m facing overstraining syndrome like fatigue, low energy levels, lost 10 kgs , hair loss, Please give overall analysis and tell for how much months should i take rest!
It sounds like you've experienced overtraining syndrome from intense cycling and running, along with rapid weight loss and poor appetite balance. Symptoms like fatigue, hair loss, and low energy suggest your body needs rest. Take a few weeks to recover with light activity and consult a healthcare professional for guidance. Focus on lower-impact activities like walking, yoga, or light stretching to stay active without further straining your body. Also, ensure you're eating enough calories, protein, and essential vitamins and minerals. How are you feeling about taking some rest and adjusting your routine?

I do own a high quality exercise bike which I quite using about 6 months ago for no good reason. Today I was unloading my truck load of heavy garbage begs and suddenly had a burning stabbing pain in my lower abdomen. It hurt all the way home. Went to bed and lay down and discovered a large bulge in my abdomen. Don’t know why but I immediately massaged and pushed gently back into place whereby the pain immediately subsided and that’s why I was looking this up on UA-cam so thanks very much for the info. I will start using my bike and lay off heavy lifting I’m 77 years old.
Hey, that's a hernia you're describing. It's not serious, it can be easily fixed, but you need to get it checked asap 🙂 Please call your doctor and let me know how you feel!
I have none of the negatives. I do an intense, high resistance workout on the bike for 30 mins, then i do targeted muscle training for 30 mins like 5 days a week.
Yeah, not everyone has the negatives. And you just gave me a great idea for a new video on whether cardio is better before strength training or vice-versa :D Thanks!

This video sets out the pros and cons very well. Anyone wishing to improve their overall fitness and more crucially to maintain that level of fitness needs an all round programme of exercise and sensible calorie consumption. An exercise bike can be a great part of an exercise regime but it’s not just about physical exercise. Long term maintenance of a good level of overall fitness is an attitude of mind. It’s that determination to do it week after week for the rest of your life. As soon as you stop your fitness will drop. If you haven’t got the mindset a short term change is of limited value.
They have plenty on the market. Which one is recommended. Am looking at the yosuda bike. Said to be good as the peloton but at a fraction of price and don't need to pay for monthly program. Any idea to help?💕
Hi Mary. I like Yosuda bikes too, good value for money. But it seems that they're out of stock now so a great alternative would be the Cyclace bike (amzn.to/3ciJz16).
I wouldn't for one minute spend anything over $1k for any of these machines. You can get and excellent Schwinn stationary machine for under $1k. To me it's all about discipline & motivation and consistency. Those are the 3 factors that most people lack. Thanks for letting me share.
I am 50yrs and i have 100kg . now already bought elliptical workout and i want to reduce kg up to 80. so what i need is which resistance level to workout? 2, 4 or 6? and for how long?
Start with level 2 for 20 minutes :) if it's too easy and don't feel sore the day after, increase the resistance and workout duration the next time. And come back here in a few weeks to tell us your progress ♥️💪

It helps if you put it in front of your TV while working out. Or you can buy one of those fancy smancy stationary bikes with a screen on it to do live classes or "scenic outdoor rides". Peloton or Echelon or Nordic track bikes have the big screen touchscreens to do the video workouts. They are pretty fun and helps to keep you engaged in the workout.

Low or high fat? The best one is the one you'll use the most. Spin bikes are the ones that burn most calories, followed by upright bikes and recumbent.
Spin bikes will work your arms more. Recumbent bikes are better for your abs than upright bikes. And upright bikes are better for your quads :)) but only slightly.

I get your point. I was thinking more about the people who tend to do bike every day because it's handy or easy. I was advising these people to take a break from their bikes and lift some weights. I wasn't addressing people who already understand the importance of strength training 😁
