They've been together almost 11 years so they've definitely grown up a bit. They are now 26-28 years old, but back when this came out they were around 18ish I think. They're a really good live band which I appreciate. The guy who sang first/ sang the verses is the bass player, Calum Hood. The guy who sang the chorus is the lead singer, Luke Hemmings. The guy with the green hair is the lead guitarist, Michael Clifford. The drummer's name is Ashton Irwin. All of them can sing really well so they all have singing parts on different songs, and all of them can play a few different instruments.
so excited you're checking out 5SOS! I'm not going to get into detail about the band as I've seen a lot of people have already but I also want to point out how great they are live! Their energy, talent and dynamics are so obvious when you see them perform. You should check out their song jet black heart (live from the 10 year anniversary show) it's so good and a personal favorite of mine and most of their fans I feel like lol. One last thing, amnesia is one of those songs that they always play in every show even 8 years later and it's absolutely beautiful live if you want to see that and the growth of them when it was released vs playing it live in 2022
My 17-year-old surprises me every day, even though he’s quite immature at times there are other times that he’s very articulate and says things about his emotions or what’s going on every day today life that surprises me on how mature his view on it is
Love this song. Found out about it a few years ago and found out it was written by the Madden brothers, who were part of the band Good Charlotte and also coaches on The Voice Australia.
They all sing and play Instruments Luke hemmings is the blonde Calum Hood plays bass Ashton Irwin plays drums Michael Clifford has colorful hair but now is blonde lead guitarist
Thinking back to when I was younger, and now having a 17-year-old as well. They are more mature in the area of emotion than people give them credit for. Especially when it comes to a loss of a girlfriend or boyfriend
Love 5SOS - just subbed! Great reaction and interpretation of the song. They're an Australian band who just celebrated 10 years together and are currently touring before releasing their 5th album 5SOS5 on 23rd September - so it's a good time to take a dive into their music. Originally pop punk vibes to more a pop/rock sound but dipping into genres throughout their career has made them an exciting band to follow. Look forward to seeing you get into more of their songs - which show their growth in songwriting. All members are multi instrumentalists and vocalists which makes for a unique and quality sound. You quite probably heard their biggest song "Youngblood" which has hit more than 1 billion streams on Spotify. Also worth noting is they are a great live band - so it would be worth checking out some live performances too. And finally, the four of them are in their mid to late 20's, with three of them going to school together so the four of them have been friends for most of their life which also adds another beautiful layer of depth to them as artists and people. 👍🏻❤🇦🇺
I remember very distinctly a couple times when my son broke up with a girlfriend, or she broke up with him, sitting down on the floor with his head in my lap, while he was crying and consoling him. So don’t even think for a second, but those young people don’t have feelings or emotions that are so heightened and experiencing so much.
God I was in LOVE with 5SOS as a teen! I found out about them because I saw them open for One Direction. It only took one time seeing them and I was hooked!
Also content that shows different sides of their music if you end up deciding to listen to more: Teeth (Live from The Vault), Complete Mess (music video), More, Jet Black Heart (live from the 5 Seconds of Summer Show), Ghost of You, and Youngblood (music video) are all good ones to check out They literally have so many songs it's hard to pick though
There is so much you should react to, their album CALM ia amazing, with songs like Red Dessert or Teeth. But their new songs are even better. I really love Complete Mess and Blender so you should also react to those!!
found them when they opened for the last one direction concert i went to (2014 or 2015?) and i’ve been in love with them since. good news: 2/4 are married now & they’re still together touring! luke (blonde / main singer you hear) and ashton (drummer) both have solo albums but they were just projects sometimes i forget they were this young 🥲 also this is my go-to “need to cry now” son
Oms can't believe you reacted to this song. 5SOS is one of the greatest bands you definitely react to more of their song. They celebrated their 10 year anniversary December of last year
5SOS is amazing. Saw them live last month and it was one of the best live shows I’ve seen. This is one of their older songs but one of my favs. Breakdown of who’s who. They all sing and take turns with the vocals but for this song: Calum - dark hair first singer (& bass guitar) Luke - (usually lead vocal) blonde with lip piercing Michael - blueish green hair (& guitar) Ashton - drums (also doing vocals in the video sitting in front of the fireplace) Suggestions for other videos: Teeth (live from the vault) Jet Black Heart is a must. (Probably my favorite) Complete Mess is one of their newest songs and amazing!
There are some letters for my first love that I ended up getting rid of because I met someone but I would thought I would spend the rest my life with, and I regret now no matter who I ended up with or whatever getting rid of those because those are a part of your past and those are a part of True Motion growing up and you should hang onto those and if someone you’re with doesn’t accept that well then they’re not the right person for you
There newest song Blender which literally came out a week ago is so good, Young blood which you have probably heard, Complete Mess, Jet Black heart, Teeth, etc. are definitely songs you should check out. If you want to hear a sad song then I would say Lie to Me and Ghost of you.

I love the video you should do more 5 seconds of summer 🥰🥰🥰 next you should listen to jet black heart 🖤
I was 17 when this song came out and this was the first song I learned on guitar It's so fun playing that beginning
5SOS is amazing. Saw them live last month and it was one of the best live shows I’ve seen.
This is one of their older songs but one of my favs.
Breakdown of who’s who. They all sing and take turns with the vocals but for this song:
Calum - dark hair first singer (& bass guitar)
Luke - (usually lead vocal) blonde with lip piercing
Michael - blueish green hair (& guitar)
Ashton - drums (also doing vocals in the video sitting in front of the fireplace)
Suggestions for other videos:
Teeth (live from the vault)
Jet Black Heart is a must. (Probably my favorite)
Complete Mess is one of their newest songs and amazing!
Another good song from that album is invisible
You should react to No Shame by 5 Seconds of Summer

Loved the video! You should totally check out 5 Seconds of Summer: What I like about you live version. :)
New to me, (thank you) Were we ever that young?
Fun fact: I know one of the girls in this music video
You should react to their songs Youngblood, and Teeth. Both awesome and more musical, not as melancholy like this one.
Should do Old Me
