This album kept me and a lot of fans alive with the message of "We also have mental problems but we're here for you" and I cannot thank 5sos enough for sgfg
It's my depression album because it feels like a journey through my bad feelings and by the end when I'm singing carry on/outer space I feel so much better
i was going through really bad times when this album came out, this album literally saved me and got me through it, i'll never be able to thank them enough for it
you NEED to listen to them perform jet black heart on their 10 year anniversary celebration on youtube bc michael's solo... THE RASP sent me to heaven. i swear i levitated. every performance was gorgeous. 5SOS is so good live.
this album was one that mentally connected with the fanbase.. personally,, i found such comfort (bc obviously this whole album, even with it's upbeat tempos, has some emotional tracks), in the girl who cried wolf bc it was one that seemed to keep me grounded. i had the song basically on repeat until the day where i hit a year of being sh clean so in that way, i always held such a special place in my heart for it.. but then also, outer space/carry on.. bc.. the final lyrics to tie off the official album (excluding extra tracks) are "it won't be long, you know it's gonna get better".. like a big warm hug after a breakdown.. and it brought to this safe haven of serenity where i no longer thought abt all those dark thoughts and i felt mentally and physically safe
This album is so special to so many of us. Im my opinion, after the heaviness of Girl who cried Wolf, Broken Home and specially Invisible, Airplanes is absolutely needed, its there to bring hope, to remind you to not let life defeat you. Its one of my favorite songs
i love hearing people appreciate 5SOS :’) they’re popular but i feel their amazing-ness flies under the radar a lot. they are even better live, if you can believe it. you should watch their 10year anniversary podcast where they talk about their whole journey. just great people and great band all around
I feel like they're dismissed as a boy band and I've even heard people call them bootleg one direction which is crazy because they're music is so different and they're better than 1D in my opinion. And then when people actually take the time to listen to their music they're like oh shit this is actually good
We don't know the real story behind broken home but Ashton came from a broken home and had one of the saddest childhoods, his dad left when he was young and he always took care of his younger siblings and worked at young age to help his mum and he struggled mentally a lot, so they say it 'may' be written for him (he's one of the strongest, we love him:)
Not to mention ashton use to self harm as well sadly And luke use to be feel invisible at stuff at school and got bullied I think all of them got bully for things at school like wearing these green pair of glasses
my heart might've shattered a little bit when you said you didn't like airplanes- i have a tattoo for it it's my favourite song ever 😭 BUT i'm so glad you loved the majority of the album! it's definitely my favourite from them and holds so much meaning for so much of the fandom. they don't play many songs from this era live anymore (unfortunately) but on their most recent tour they did play jet black heart and waste the night (and castaway at most shows)! i think (fingers crossed) jet black heart will be on the setlist forever- it's such a fan favourite and a favourite of the bands as well, especially michael. although i do highly recommend you check out a vid of jet black heart live!! especially the version from the 10 year anniversary show. jbh live is just an otherwordly experience, it's so beautiful that was ashton singing the second verse in safety pin!! and michael was singing in castaway. michael's voice definitely fits this style really well and he sings a lot more on this album than some of the later ones they did use to actually work with benji and joel from good charlotte a lot so the influence definitely seeps in a lot to their earlier music- they also worked a lot with all time low! john feldmann produced this album and their debut- he's a musician and has also produced albums for good charlotte, all time low, blink 182, panic and lots more so it definitely has those same sounds!! and hey everybody samples hungry like a wolf by duran duran so that's probably what you're thinking of if you want some more songs from this album cycle definitely recommend you check out the She's Kinda Hot EP and also the SGFG b-sides and rarities!! there's still 5 songs you haven't heard yet and they're all so good! they used to do a lot more extra little eps and stuff with their earlier albums. sorry for this long comment haha but i loved this reaction and i love your channel so much- i can't wait to see what you think of debut!!
There’s also more songs if you haven’t listened to them already!! You can find them on the B-Sides and Rarities! There’s “The Space Between a Rock and a Hard Place” and “Story of Another Us”. These two were on a target exclusive deluxe version of the album! You should listen to them they’re AMAZING! The She’s Kinda Hot EP also has some absolute bangers too :)
Seeing you cry listening to Jet Black Heart is like seeing myself. I feel you Travis, it gets me it my feels every single time. I was shaking when I heard it live for the first time on last year's tour. This album was recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra, which is why there are a bunch of strings and why they sound so beautiful! That's Michael on the second verse of Castaway, such a fire song, one of my favorite. And I agree, there are a bunch of songs on here that stood the test of time. For example, I listen a lot to Jet Black Heart, Castaway, Broken Home (when I want to cry, I relate to it as well) and Outer Space / Carry On. "I'm stuck in between a nightmare and lost dreams" is one of my favorite lyric as well. So relatable. The story behind Broken Home : Michael's parents were going through a rough patch. I don't know if it was around the same time, but Calum's parents divorced as well. They wrote the song together.
I wish they played more of these songs live. Castaway is my favorite off the album, and they played MOST of it on tour last year, and we got Outer Space/Carry On for this year's tour, but I'd love to hear more. Airplanes specifically would be so special live. 🥰
Travis you got a good ear. The Madden boys co-wrote some songs on this album!!! Also they used Hungry Like the Wolf in their melody of Hey Everybody! I am so glad you found this band I love them so much. Jet Black Heart is my favorite song ever 🖤
i had a cd of like top songs of 2015 or something and hey everybody was on there and i had no idea who 5sos is, got into one direction in 2016 and about a year later into 5sos and then realized "hold up, I've heard this song so many times before"
So the song's they still play from the album are: She's Kind of Hot Waste the Night Jet Black Heart The songs that they sang recently(or have been rumored as such): Castaway Vapor Permanent Vacation And they sang Outer Space/Carry On for ONO - The Feeling of Falling Upwards
Also fun fact, if you play Outer Space/Carry On at exactly 11:52:55 new years eve, you will start off the new year hearing "you know it gonna get better"
This is my favorite album of all time! In highschool school, I would listen to this whole album while playing bioshock. It’s definitely one of the happiest times of my life.
The fact that you are reacting to 5sos (alongside glee and once upon a time on the other channel) is tripping me out because they all had such a big impact on my life. Just missing hunger games and some heath ledger content now lol I haven't passed the 5 second mark yet (pun not intended), but I'm excited to hear your thoughts on this album. ALSO, if you can, you should def check their live orchestra performance of Outerspace/Carry On, its magical. Ps: you are right on Hey Everybody they have a sample from Duran Duran
This is a really perfect album. Cried with you on Jet Black heart. You should listen to the Meet you there album, which is a love album from Youngblood era. So you should do that really because they’re absolute perfection live. Also, you’re definitely on Michael’s lane baby ;)
i really really NEED you to watch the 10 year anniversary show they made you're not deep enough into the fandom to get all the jokes (cause there are way too many, i feel like i probably didnt even get all the jokes) but i just know you'd have the best time
i think someone might have said it already but the reason why so many songs have Good Charlotte vibes is because Benji and Joel Madden wrote on a few of them with the boys.
Apparently Invisible is supposed to be a suicide note, written on a typewriter, which is why you hear that in the background. I think it's just a rumour, although thinking about that always makes my cry every time I hear it. Also Outer Space / Carry On is my comfort song.
I discovered them a few years ago through their song "Amnesia" off the Youngblood album and it remains my favorite song of theirs, but I had not heard this album until today. I have to listen to them more!!
Here one of my favorite live concert from them back in the day: it has a few songs of this album but also 1st album :3 5sos broken scene concert: ua-cam.com/video/BuLx5maqmXo/v-deo.html
14:03 thats ashtonnnnnn (te drummer )19:12 thats michaelll (lead guitarist) luke is the lead singer so he obv sings the most but calum too (the bassist) he has and still is the one who sings the most besides yk luke
You should react to Picture This, they’re a really great band but they’re not that popular. Some songs: 17, Unconditional, Dance Away With You, You and I
They sang Outerspace/Carry On live with a whole orchestra and opera and it was amazing
This album kept me and a lot of fans alive with the message of "We also have mental problems but we're here for you" and I cannot thank 5sos enough for sgfg
It's my depression album because it feels like a journey through my bad feelings and by the end when I'm singing carry on/outer space I feel so much better

I've seen them perform live twice and it was the two best days of my life😂❤
5sos and Good Charlotte are actually friends and they helped 5sos write a lot of their music
Also the band All time low
And John Feldman from the band Gold finger, but the dude is mostly known for being a producer
this album was one that mentally connected with the fanbase.. personally,, i found such comfort (bc obviously this whole album, even with it's upbeat tempos, has some emotional tracks), in the girl who cried wolf bc it was one that seemed to keep me grounded. i had the song basically on repeat until the day where i hit a year of being sh clean so in that way, i always held such a special place in my heart for it.. but then also, outer space/carry on.. bc.. the final lyrics to tie off the official album (excluding extra tracks) are "it won't be long, you know it's gonna get better".. like a big warm hug after a breakdown.. and it brought to this safe haven of serenity where i no longer thought abt all those dark thoughts and i felt mentally and physically safe
I love that
14:07 it is Ashton the drummer singing, I wish we got more of his voice.
At least we have TEARS! now, although I wish we got more on SGFG because I think his voice really suits that style
@@golden_haze_TEARS! is easily one of the top 5 best songs on that album. It's so freaking good!!
This album is so special to so many of us. Im my opinion, after the heaviness of Girl who cried Wolf, Broken Home and specially Invisible, Airplanes is absolutely needed, its there to bring hope, to remind you to not let life defeat you. Its one of my favorite songs

this is my favorite album from them, in my opinion this album is so underrated like it's crazy good
It's my second favourite album after 5SOS5. It's so good and it has the most replay value. I'll never get tired of this album
My fav album definitely, plusss Michael is my favorite member and he sings a lot in this album!

they sound amazing live, saw them 5 times and they are always incredible and jet black heart live is very intense
Michael goes hard every time!!!
JET BLACK HEART OWNS MY HEART

The Best f*cking album yesss!! Love you

They still play jet black heart on tour 😊 is a really special song
Ash on the drums when the crowd is singing "and there's a hurricane underneath it" goes crazy!!!! It was one of my favourite parts of seeing them live

this and 5sos5 are my fav
sameeee
Impeccable taste ✨️

outerspace/ carry on is probably my absolute favourite 5sos song… hearing it live (well on the livestream) at ono was the best thing i’ve ever heard
i had a cd of like top songs of 2015 or something and hey everybody was on there and i had no idea who 5sos is, got into one direction in 2016 and about a year later into 5sos and then realized "hold up, I've heard this song so many times before"

They played Vapor during soundcheck last year, was very cool!
This is my favorite album of all time! In highschool school, I would listen to this whole album while playing bioshock. It’s definitely one of the happiest times of my life.

Mike is the one who sings in 19:10 (Castaway) His voice is 🔥🔥
The voice you asked about in Castaway is Michael, I adore his voice!
You need to watch the How did we end up here DVD. The Madden Brothers are on it.
San Francisco was the first song I heard from them (other than the ones that everyone has heard)
i'm crying with you right now
vapor is one of my favorite songs EVER it’s so good
i really really NEED you to watch the 10 year anniversary show they made
you're not deep enough into the fandom to get all the jokes (cause there are way too many, i feel like i probably didnt even get all the jokes) but i just know you'd have the best time

14:03 thats ashtonnnnnn (te drummer )19:12 thats michaelll (lead guitarist) luke is the lead singer so he obv sings the most but calum too (the bassist) he has and still is the one who sings the most besides yk luke
I'm so happy you reacted to this album
Can you react to the band "Palaye Royale" !!!
🇵🇱Sara James- AS it Was( Harry Styles).... AGT All-Stars 2023
can anyone recommend good charlotte songs that sound similar to this album?
You should react to Picture This, they’re a really great band but they’re not that popular. Some songs: 17, Unconditional, Dance Away With You, You and I
