Eugene Levy is the best part of this entire series. Through the most ridiculous series of ludicrously embarrassing events, he remains consistently supportive. He's not sure what to say or do, but just tries his best. Every single time.
He is a good dad character and the thing is throughout the series he's not just there for Jim he's a supportive figure for all of Jim's friends as well
The man is always in his corner no matter what. Great character, great dad.

American Pie 2 , American Wedding and American Reunion are the sequels, they get better and better and the progression of these characters lives are fun to watch
Band Camp is fun too, mostly because it doesn't try to copy main movies, but is more like a solid rom-com. Stiflers brother is also a fun character. Other "American Pie Presents" movies are garbage though.

Awesome movie, fun memories during a fun time. But that's sad. If it shaped a countries generation, that society failed them hard. I assume you are from the US, it seems movies compensate for the things the country lacks.

@@Gnossiene369actually a generation shaped this movie. I graduated HS in 1994 and this movie is the most accurate portrayal of HS in the 90’s I have ever seen. They 100% nailed the band camp girl. The writers must have gone to my high school

Classic! There are a ton of American Pie movies but the main story and best are the first 3, and then they have an american reunion that came out not too long ago!

When I first watched this movie as a kid(age 10), I was like, 'How'd she know he was right there?' And then I turned into a teenager years later, I finally realized what she meant when she said, "I'm coming" 😂

I remember seeing this movie when I was 8 years old. I stayed up late one night and watched it, which is how I learned about birds and bees.

I love these movies. They get lumped in with other "horny teenager" comedies but they are much funnier and filled with more heart than almost all of the copycats. I actually think American Pie 2 is even better than the first. Would love to see a reaction to that too!

I was in my last year of high school when this was released, it was the 1 movie that unified our entire grade. This movie was such a moment of my life.
I saw this movie the summer before my senior year of high school. My stomach hurt so much from laughing so hard. I love this series of movies.
Eugene Levy was the perfect casting for Jim's Dad, I cannot imagine anybody playing the role better than he did.

Its become and rightly so a comedy classic...really enjoyed that lads
You don't hear it anywhere, but the great lesson of this movie is that love and friendship are more important than sex.
Don't even think about not watching the next 3 movies, they are just as good as this one.
Also, the idea of focusing on sex like the gang does is treated like a very childish thing. Every character that's had sex, and isn't a manchild like Stifler, all has a very practical and realistic outlook on sex. It's actually a hint that Sherman didn't have sex, cause he still has that childlike idolization of sex after "having it"
Oz's college date - Laughs at his immaturity, gives him sensible advice, then drops him off cause he's not emotionally ready for sex
Jim's Dad - Awkward about talking to his son about it, but wants him to know it's perfectly natural, just do it safely and be informed
Michelle - Sex is something she wants, but is very casual about it, like it's not a big deal. Hell, her sex story is like number 80 on her list of band camp stories
Jessica - Wants Vicky to do it already so she can see it's not as huge a deal as she thinks it is, and only gives Kevin advice when he says it's not just about wanting to fuck
Kevin's Brother - Openly says "Orgasm" i na public place, cause whatever, it's not a big deal. Also doesn't help Kevin until he says it's not just about wanting to fuck
Vickey's Dad - Hears Vickey cumming and decides to let her be until she's done, instead of shaming her or something
