Randy I still remember you sinking a perfectly good Ranger boat in the back of Grassy Creek to get under the bridge to win the tournament on Kerr that was bad ass😂😂😂
Aside from all the juicy information and tips you provide, I like that you'll leave in when you're boy comes in and you have dad things to do and that just makes it relatable and real... not sure if anyone else thinks that or I'm just weird IDK, just thought I'd leave a comment about it, thanks Randy!
Keep up the mix of teaching and debating. That's what makes this channel interesting. A friend at work disagrees with your livescope opinion but he still watches so you are doing something right to keep the attention of those who agree or disagree. Keep it coming.
Really learning how to fish jigs. I do night fish during late June thru Sept. Your videos have really improved my catch ratio. My grandfather gave me my first combo at 11yrs old. That was 48 years ago. Never stop learning, never stop teaching.
What size jig do you think I need to use in tidal water using 20 pound cigar floro I have pretty much always flip 1/2 ounce but I feel like if I flip less than 1/2 I need to downsize line also but we have a pretty strong current here on the east cost of the Carolinas
Thx Miles… We have all the heads already ready to go but the tying process is very slow as we are training people as we go. The amount of time between ordering and receiving the product should get better all the time.
Don't ever let anyone steer you away from posting on UA-cam your channel is doing great and I honestly love your view of bass fishing everyone is different and I agree with alot of what you say especially the talking while fishing no one ever thinks about shit like this just shows why your a pro and they wish they was lol
Very likely the most underrated comment I’ve seen on UA-cam this month. If someone doesn’t know the reference they haven’t lived a full life. Here lies the body of Mary Lee; died at the age of a hundred and three. For fifteen years she kept her viginity; not a bad record for this vicinity.
Man, I love these Jig videos! It’s my new confidence bait as of the last year and a half ere is obviously so much I don’t know and need to learn. Thanks Randy.
Thanks Randy. I enjoy pitching jigs but find myself going to soft plastics just because the amount of bites I get. I like the looks, feel and what used to be the simplistic nature of a jig. Used to be I would grab a 3/8oz jig and chunk and would get my 5 bites. Now I can take 1 of a 100 creature baits in 100 colors and get 12 to 15 bites. With today's creature baits I don't see the size difference anymore at weight-in from jigs like years past. Could be the waters I fish.
Thank you for your knowledge randy. The fall rate of the jig just really popped in my mind this morning. I think I have heard that trailers can effect the fall rate before. But this video really stuck it in my mind this time.
Bought 8 of your old schools today Randy (5/8) My favorite size. Do you ever trim the weed guard on your jigs ? Thanks for sharing all your years of knowledge....
Thanks man we used to trim the weed guards before packaging but we found out that a lot of the customers preferred trim. There is to their own custom length, so yes, I usually trim mine to where they’re just about an eighth of an inch over the hook point.
Hey Randy thanks for the awesome jig video I can't thank you enough for this key information . I was on table rock this summer and I was out with a guy and we were useing these small finesse jig's and all I caught was small fish and I used these finesse jig All season . I should have listened to myself and tied on a bigger jig . Brother I absolutely love these because I'm really interested in this jig fishing God bless you and your family your pal fisherman Mike
Yes, especially the line size makes a big difference in Fall rates of Bass jigs. We pitch with 20 & 25 lb. Big Game ( .018 & .019 diameter lines) here at Lake Fork around all the stumps. A lot of times a 1/4 & 3/8 jig with a bigger bulky trailer is the ticket. If they want a faster fall we use a 1/2oz. Casting out to deeper water areas 18-30 ft. (.016 or .017 diameter line). Then the 3/4 jig is the main player.
Randy what hooks in your jig , Is it a custom made specifically for your jig ? I also noticed your weed guard is too steep it should be closer to the hook
Randy,i love all your videos, but your last 12 or so has been MONEY!!!!!MAN THANK YOU FOR REVEALING AND VERIFYING ALL THIS!!!!show us that "hard times"crank bait box please.you know the one with even non sponsor cranks in it(even tho Megabass is probably the best)
Might they have skirt kits so some of us might tweak them a bit? I'm always making minor changes to most things, it gives the bass something different.
That one with the chartreuse will be on my next order , I like the 1/4 oz in the grass too when I’m casting jigs in the grass holes , but in shallow water
Thanks for all the juice Randy, I can use all the Fippin and all the Pitchin advice you can give. Also do you ever use Tungsten jigs? If so when, where, and why? Also seems like all my best fish come on my gnarliest looking jigs? Iv heard that from other people also but I wonder why that is or why that could be true? Also If you could only have 1 color of Jig/trailer what would be your choice's?
Absolutely loving these jig vids. Got hooked last year on catching bass on jigs. It is usually windy in NE Oklahoma, and I was having trouble feeling the bottom with a Texas Rig. As soon as I tied on a jig I immediately started getting bit, Smallmouth and Largemouth.
1/4 oz is a good size for the ponds and rivers I fish around Chicago. I use the heck out of the Keitech casting jig. I look forward to trying the old school jigs out.

Jigs are just terrible all around, esp. the size options. I ponder why they always do the same ounces. 1/4, 1/2, etc. When you a private company, you should give other options to fit the custom or private label. Why not make somethin in between 1/4 and 1/2? What about micro or extra large? Cmon. And I would tie some feathers and flashers. In some private brands, they genius and hit the head with every color and glitters. That's what I would want if I do jigs. Not going to buy whatever they have on the market for $10 or 5. JS, I absolutely do not care for jigs.
@@wolverinex4243 Then go buy some crappie jigs. If you think these jigs are too expensive that’s totally understandable. It’s a lot of money for a jig.

Excellent breakdown and knowledge share!
What do you you think about rattles and scent on jigs in stained water or low visibility/night?
All great tips.... love the looks of them new Blaukat jigs...!!

@@randyblaukatintuitive Yep. Was at Baitwrx Thursday and these are evidently selling like hotcakes. Sure are some good looking jigs too.
Very useful information as usual. Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge and experience Randy.
Hey randy any chance we can buy the jigs heads in bulk without skirts?
and thanks for all the info!

Its a sign of a good dad to take time away from what your doing to address something going on with one of your kids.

I think you definitely need to trim the weed guard on this jig I found out the hard way. Trim the guard back to the end of the hook barb.

Just wonder if you remember chastising Tactical Bassing for seeming like a sales pitch?
Can't wait to get my hands on that jig.
Great video, by a world class angler, appreciate it!
Kudos for knowing the difference between pitching and flipping...
Does it make a difference to you if you use lead or tungsten?

Do you ever trim the 5/8 to a finesse cut skirt like an Eakins in super clear water to get a faster fall?
Good info. What are your thoughts on tungsten heads?
Man that jig looks good, I'll be ordering some for sure.
Randy can you talk about relevance to water clarity from lake to lake.

I ordered quite a few the dy u announced them and Stull haven't heard anything. Are they in stock? Or did I pre-ordered them?
The day he announced they were available for pre-order I ordered some too they should be in in a week or two
Waiting for the jig to fall. Would it sound better done by Cold Play? Or the Rolling Stones?
If it was a quarter ounce jig, I'd probably go with Cold Play. The five eighth's ounce. Mick Jagger.
whats the setup you are using
No 1/2oz?
Love your videos. I just came into a ton of 3/8 oz slither rigs. That will be my go to “jig” for a while. Any opinions on slither rigs? Thanks.
Portable water bill working when you want when you're on their beds could you use the smaller one
You know you're about to hear some hardcore hoggin tips when he puts on his glasses
randy what about rattles ? i don't think i have heard your view on them.
Randy when do you go pork chunk vs plastic super chunk?
Pork gives a more 'fluid', natural action which is preferable in colder water.
Is your 5/8 jig a compromise between a 1/2 and 3/4 oz. jig or is there another reason?
Absolutely loving these jig vids. Got hooked last year on catching bass on jigs. It is usually windy in NE Oklahoma, and I was having trouble feeling the bottom with a Texas Rig. As soon as I tied on a jig I immediately started getting bit, Smallmouth and Largemouth.

Your weed guard sits too high needs to be slanted down towards the hook more tobe of any use
