    Aside from all the juicy information and tips you provide, I like that you'll leave in when you're boy comes in and you have dad things to do and that just makes it relatable and real... not sure if anyone else thinks that or I'm just weird IDK, just thought I'd leave a comment about it, thanks Randy!

    Thanks Randy. I enjoy pitching jigs but find myself going to soft plastics just because the amount of bites I get. I like the looks, feel and what used to be the simplistic nature of a jig. Used to be I would grab a 3/8oz jig and chunk and would get my 5 bites. Now I can take 1 of a 100 creature baits in 100 colors and get 12 to 15 bites. With today's creature baits I don't see the size difference anymore at weight-in from jigs like years past. Could be the waters I fish.

      Thanks man we used to trim the weed guards before packaging but we found out that a lot of the customers preferred trim. There is to their own custom length, so yes, I usually trim mine to where they’re just about an eighth of an inch over the hook point.

  • @micheledaugherty275
    @micheledaugherty275 3 роки тому

    Yes, especially the line size makes a big difference in Fall rates of Bass jigs. We pitch with 20 & 25 lb. Big Game ( .018 & .019 diameter lines) here at Lake Fork around all the stumps. A lot of times a 1/4 & 3/8 jig with a bigger bulky trailer is the ticket. If they want a faster fall we use a 1/2oz. Casting out to deeper water areas 18-30 ft. (.016 or .017 diameter line). Then the 3/4 jig is the main player.

  • @steveroush425

    Jigs are just terrible all around, esp. the size options. I ponder why they always do the same ounces. 1/4, 1/2, etc. When you a private company, you should give other options to fit the custom or private label. Why not make somethin in between 1/4 and 1/2? What about micro or extra large? Cmon. And I would tie some feathers and flashers. In some private brands, they genius and hit the head with every color and glitters. That's what I would want if I do jigs. Not going to buy whatever they have on the market for $10 or 5. JS, I absolutely do not care for jigs.
