Worked no problem with my Higonokami Irogane xD
I can guarantee all mine would pass 👌
You know your knife is sharp when you can cut the flat of the page.
How did I meet Lynn Thompson today, but didn’t meet you? Bummer for me.
@@mbrousseau22 Hey! Small world, neighbor!
Lynn Thompson is the freakin' man. He can EDC what every other knife guy only dreams of. It would be downright weird if he didn't have a Espada XL in his pocket.
"Can I try it with my sword" fucking sent my sides to orbit, what a man.
I met Lynn today and saw that Espada up close! What a character.
Well, at such an event he especially has to live up to his own name. Not that I doubt he doesn't, lol.😅
I was like, “Why does Lynn have a cane? I hope he’s ok.” Obviously it was a sword cane.
I thought the exact same thing🤣
Legend
The fact that Murray Carter’s journeyman was disgusted that people couldn’t simply cut paper had me cracking up. 😂
Lynn Thomson is the epitome of a bad ass, what a legend, that's what you want in a knife maker and designer, someone who isn't afraid to use their stuff and get behind it cheap or expensive
He is a super passionate guy!
that dude was sooo cool! no hesitation, instantly goes "lets try my sword". great guy
Lmao Lynn Thompson is a legend for carrying all of that!
Genuinely he does that daily, even for the last decade plus, and carries a couple guns. The man is armed deep.
Lynn Thompson’s cane sword: effortlessly cuts the paper. Medford: “that’s a brave knife to do some paper cuts with” 😂
lynn thompson was exactly how i imagined he would be lol
Exactly!
4:16 i’m laughing my ass off
@@zacinthewild lynn pulls it out of narnia.
Seems like every other knife show on UA-cam that I watch, I always feel like they take forever and I want it to end. With Zac and crew, they always end so quickly and leave me wanting more because the content is so good. Keep it up, guys!
Thanks for watching man! Means a lot🤘
@@zacinthewild good Sir , why are your videos so short , i need more ,More!!😂
What a fun video!! I must practice with the short blades….all about technique!! Amazing giveaway too!
It was great talking at the show!👊
Yeah, I'd have had no probs with my kitchen knives. I keep them really sharp and I'm forever testing them on the old A4. But I'm not at all confident I'd be able to do it with something I was EDC'ing -- say, a Spyderco PM3? Even if it was really sharp, I'm not sure I'd succeed.
Great seeing you in the video Zach!! Love ya dude!
As always, I love Lynn Thompsons passion. That was a nice blade that cut the paper long ways. Super sharp.
what is the name of his first folder ?
@@janekserce8265 I was curious of the same. Did you ever find out?
Ah man, another great video! that Lynn Thompson cameo caught me off guard 😂
He saw us filming and was very kind to jump on and show us some stuff!
@@zacinthewild That cane sword...
DANMIT I WISH I WAS THERE! NOT ONLY COULD I HAVE MET ZAC, HE WOULD HAVE PAID ME
Next time for sure!!!
@@zacinthewild one of these days maybe I could get you on a live. I'd love to have you on
would be a legendary crossover episode for sure
The guys over at Carter Cutlery are awesome dudes. They make there knifes in a small town in Idaho and they will walk you around their shop and show you the whole process. You should reach out to them and do a video with them sometime.
Great stuff Zac ! Thanks for the time and effort you put in these videos !
Thank you for tuning in!
I just freaking love the content you guys have been making......throughly entertaining.....
Thanks so much🙏
This makes me really reconsider how sharp I need to keep my knives. I refuse to take a knife out of the house if it’s not cleanly cutting paper.
Great video Zac. Lynn Thompson's cameo was epic. Keep up the great work. 👍
He’s was such a treat!
Having declared my dissatisfaction with this sharpener last night ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxDcr-y2Pf6xdnrFHrSP7dl9kpKaCozcSQ I thought about the problem some more. It occurred to me that I might be undoing each attempt at achieving a sharp edge by the repeated attempts. So, I tried to clean up the unsatisfactory result by honing with only positions 3 and 4.Miracle!! A really nicely sharpened chef's knife, more than enough to handle my needs. Admittedly, it did not reach professionally sharpened razor-fineness, but it is now significantly sharper than it was. A bout of breaking down carrots convinced me. So, major apologies to the manufacturer, Amazon, and all happy and potential owners! Follow the directions: don't buy it if you have ceramic blades; and don't overwork your knife blade.
lynn in the wild always is a trip, the man really is just clanking around armed like a knight of old at all times
All times😎
An absolute gangster. I used to fawn over his knives in the old magazines in my childhood.
This type of videos are awesome. Hope you'll do more like these, just getting to know what people carry and how much do they take care of their blades is pretty cool.
i tried this at home, surprisingly difficult! new knives was easy to push through, but any knife that was used before needed some finesse. great video
Loved the interactions with event goers! I knew the cane was a sword! Lol Thanks Zac!
Lynn never disappoints🔥
GREAT VID! Man ….Lynn is a LEGEND! Thanks Zak.
Thanks for watching!👊
Sharpening is such an art. I have learned so much just by trial and error. Mostly error.
I’m definitely one big error with sharpening but getting better all the time.
Zac that was a super fun idea. Loved it. I use a Work Sharp Precision to sharpen all my knives 🔪 with the addition of 3M lapping films. Mirror finish with a stropping will cut paper all day and split hairs. Great video!
I need to work on mirror finish stuff after I learn how to sharpen well😁. Sounds like an awesome system you have going!
Lynn is the man.
👊🤘
Didn't know about the worksharp sharpener but have been looking for a good one. Because of this video I'm going to get one now. Thanks!
Your channel is wholesome, I like how you appreciate all knives
I found myself wanting to be there to show off the hair whittling edge of my Native 5 LW. 😂 Keep up the good work Zac.
Another great man on the street thing. You know I love these. Proof that it's not as easy as it looks!
It was such a great place to talk to done awesome knife guys!
Lynn Thompson! What an OG! Best part of the video!
Oh man I loved this one Zac! Thank u! I tried the test with the knifes I had on me while I watched. Pena Lannys clip, Southern Grind Bad Monkey, Victorinox Tinker and Case Copperhead all passed the test, Gerber Dime did not lol but I carry it for the pliers 😉
The guy with the Medford Praetorian Auto gave me a chuckle when you said “that’s a brave knife to do cuts with” 😂😂😂.
I’ve owned a few Medfords and yeah…they don’t cut paper very good. My buddy who sharpens knives had to reprofile each of them as they have an almost “battle axe” (wide and rough cutting profile) type of cutting profile.
If I ever bump into you, I’m using my Rockstead 😎👍🏽.
I’ve been eyeing that Worksharp Ken Onion edition, I really want one of their sets. I own at least 15 knives now, a lot of which is thanks to you, Zac, lol. Glad you’re doing well, sir!
Ben loves the power sharpeners. I’ve been really digging the Precision Adjust Pro. Hope you’re enjoying the blades😁
Mr. double or nothing giving me goosebumps - love it
Good thing I usually have my two-sided Fällkniven CC4 ceramic stone in the leather pouch near me, to touch up on my most frequently used knives regulary. 😅
I usually have them at least paper cutting sharp, and I also learned to cut a little differently depending on which knive I am using. 🤓
Lynn Thompson is a legend... crazy how sharp that sword is.!
VERY smart video idea. thanks for this!
Sharpening is something I really need to learn.
It’s such an important thing that I am such a slacker about. I’m really like liking my Worksharp Precision Adjust. It’s great makes me look way better at sharpening then I am😁
My recommendation: buy an inexpensive but quality knife with a steel that's easy to sharpen and then buy the Work Sharp Guided Field Sharpener and practice, practice, practice. If you screw up the blade no big deal because, cheap knife!
Thanks!
my advice, another amateur: just buy an Worksharp precision adjust and eventually the upgrade kit. for home; if you are outside, its not suitable. maybe if you are outside with a car or a boat.
Lol. Just happened across this. Wife gave me a Work Sharp for Christmas and it's the best thing ever. Razor sharp in no time
Watched this last night What a hoot Love your man in the street videos Thanks
Some of those guys have really sharp knifes that won! Lynn Thompson always carries a lot of knifes on him! You don’t want to mess with him! Cool video Zac!
This one was a ton of fun!
Going to sharpen my knives now, thanks.
Lynn Thompson!!
Great video ++
Lynn looking like a Targaryen, along with that Valerion steel!
This was fun. Thanks guys!
Lynn Thompson is a legend, and you can hear how sharp his knife is !
Hey! My family and I are in the BG talking to ben at the end! haha how cool. Great vid, Zac!
freaking Awsome!!!! Thanks Zac!
Zach’s Stuff, Rocks. I love supporting my local Fam.
Dude is a great guy!
Another fun premise!
Loved this video, very creative. Nice job Zac!
Thanks so much!
Loved this video too, great idea for a blade show crowd.
Nice to meet you at Blade Show Friday.
Always enjoy your enthusiasm 👍
Meeting everyone was awesome!👊
Imagine if Lynn Thompson failed the test... I mean, that's the whole business he's indirectly betting on lol. He didn't disappoint me at all. Speaking of which, I used his CS Leatherneck to remove and break down some old plywood sheets for my home renovation as well. It's a really convenient tool for the job, and the edge is still sharp as if nothing happened. Good stuff!
Brilliant idea for this video. I'm loving your content, guys!
Thanks man!
Lynn Thompson the man 🤜💪✊he the reason I bought the cold steel espada XL
That was interesting, well done.
That forged in American is sic!!!! 👌🏻
OCD for EDC!! Good to see u two
This was a fun video! I lived my whole life for someone to ask me how sharp my knife is hahaha that’s cool.
Lynn Thompson is a legend loving the content
Lol Ben just casually in the background at his Knafs both at the end.
I need to go to a show, but good works guys I enjoyed this, definitely wanted to se more lol.
Wish y'all were in my neck of the woods in Texas. Love the videos keep up the great work
This was a fun one. The dude at the end just showing off lol
Great one again. You guys enjoy blade show west!!
It’s been a blast. Tons of great people🤘
No way you find him and he performce like that. What a legend Thompson is!
this is hands down the best EDC channel kudos zac
Thanks man! Means a lot🤘
Zack's Stuff is a GREAT channel. Love that guy.
LOVE LOVE LOVE that blade talon has
Never been sold on a worksharp sharpener. Always been able to rely on the tri-stone to get er done.
lynn is my blade hero. i hope he lives long and happy
Loved the video keep up the good work man
Lol ole dad bringing the heat!!!!!!!
You seem like just a genuinely nice dude. That's neat.
Clever content idea. Good job.
I just try to think about what would be the most fun💪😁
Extremely fun video!!
It was a blast talking to everyone too!
Zac, awesome to meet you a blade show west! Love the videos!
Glad we got to chat!
Yeah, @Zach’s Stuff is amazing. Really great guy, great video too guys!!
Really great dude!
Man so cool to see Lynn Thompson on there showing off big time. Really cool to see OCD-4-EDC as well. I’m surprised you guys didn’t know him. He’s fairly big and well known in the knife world. And I’d just like to say that any of my many Spyderco’s would have easily blazed through that paper.
Zach the man in a Zac video. Love it! Guess there comes the next give away.👍
Zach is the man!
the Espada XL with Blue scales is very nice
Zach’s stuff is good stuff. Been a subscriber for years
Yessss👊🏼💪🏼 it really is about technique…I’ve learned that over the years..still have trouble sometimes
Same!
I mean, all the technique in the world isn't going to make a dull knife cut paper, but I see what you are saying.
Great video man thank you 🙏🏼
was wearing my medford thorn and carrying my medford micro praetorian t. 3v drop point.
3:50 Lynn Thompson is awesome, even does his sword :)
Loved the amount of custom Knives lol. With the beefy boi i have made it would have no chance, too thick
thats why i like ur vids u r typically awsm. I am a big fan of u from the blade hq vids and u make awsm innovative contents. thank u fr giving us beautify contents love from INDIA
Thank you for following along here.
The Rockstead Shin and Chi I own were my sharpest knives but a couple months ago I bought a Worksharp Precision adjust and started practicing.
At first I was ready to throw it away but one day it just came together and I could get the edge I wanted.
So now I am not even sure which of my knives is the sharpest. A few of them feel like they glide through paper a bit easier than the Rockstead’s.
I am tempted to buy an edge tester.
I almost forgot I have a Sandrin Torino and Monza, they might be sharper than my other knives but they also have very thin blades.
Glad you got it! There is definitely a learning curve. I got to get myself a Rockstead.
Great videos and always fun stuff you make.... I'm a fan from philippines.
Looks like I am not only one but Lynn….what a legend.
Man I would want to get the sharpener over ten bucks!
Agreed on both fronts!
Cool video Zac!
It was great meeting you yesterday! Love the video!
Great meeting!
What an awesome pocket check
More like an edge check😎💪
This was fun
id pass this test with flying colors with all of my blades🔥 all touched up with that handheld worksharp
Yeah buddy!🤘
Dude, this challenge was made for me. Every single knife I put in my pocket gets stropped every single day and stays shaving sharp. Mainly because of my WorkSharp Ken Onion Edition. I also use magazine paper for my cut tests.
So rad! Lynn must do the same because all his knives were razor sharp🔥
Yes sir that's the only way you should ever carry a knife is if it can pop the hairs off of your arm with such ease that they literally pop off
This was the best challenge and it was hilarious.
So much fun to shoot and talk with everyone too!
