I've missed the OG BHQ and now it's just not the same. I love the independent content you're putting out these days, it's the perfect mix of personality and nostalgia. Little late but I'm carrying a Spyderco Spydiechef, last thing I cut was my finger while sharpening it.
Awesome video Zac! A video I think would be awesom is an edc for on duty first responders in rural areas. I'm a Park Ranger and I feel like the people in my field curator their gear very specific to the needs and not necessarily to the newest, coolest and best. For example I carry a Gerber Hinder CLS because all of the features it has for an emergency responses, a Leatherman because I'm always in need of pliers and a screw driver, and the Ka-bar tdi for any self defense situation. I also keep a Leatherman raptor sheers with my medical bag, but the Rangers in our ohv parks typically keep them on their duty belt because the volume of injuries. I think seeing the contrast to the gear edc and knives enthusiasts carry verse the tactical curation of le and first responds would be very cool. I love when you do these pocket dumps! It is so interesting to see all the gear people carry. Also, really glad to see you and Jamie working together again. You make a great team! It also amuses me that we use our knives for boxes and food... Just awesome!
It would take a half hour to write out all my pocket tools, but I am super digging these "average joe" pocket dumps. Super refreshing to see the layman's actual tools instead of the same regurgitation from knife reviewers/edc junkies. Neat to learn about the urchin, I've never seen that before
Love seeing other people carry cool shit! I always feel like people judge me for it hahah. But I always rock a full size knife, small flashlight, a victorinox multi tool, and a small ti prybar. Love your channel man!
Hi man. Love your content. Lately things have been tuff down where i'm from, I've been carrying a small push dagger for a couple month, the Schade SCHF50. At first it felt wierd in My pocket and was ashaimed to pull it out because luckylly I've only had to use it to upen boxes at work 😂 cheers!
You *know* the guy at 6:41 with the myerchin is thinking about sea ropes, as he literally has a marlinspike in his EDC with him, which might have been the most interesting bit of EDC we see!
As for my carry...here we go. BID TPT Slide SOG Terimus XR BID Ti EDC Click, BID Ti Mini Pry Bar and BID Ti Pocket Clip on the keys for a Cruze Flowfold Sailcloth Vanguard Bifold in green Some chapstick. Last used my TPT Slide to cut a box of plastic bags open at work (I have a second job as a supermarket cashier)
Zac, you make hands down the best EDC content on UA-cam because it's humble, real, and you're just so damned likeable! Great to see some familiar faces all in one video! Keep it interesting, keep it up! I'm carrying a Magnacut Hogue Deka, Trayvax Summit (Talon Sei would be proud) airpods, keys, and a 2020 cadet. I've stopped edc-ing lights but I've always got my Baton 3 in my bag and my warrior mini 2 in my car. I was camping over the weekend and had my CF-elite bugout, and my i5T, in the pockets and my trusty cold steel SRK on the belt. Last cut was a bag of ice for my morning coffee lol
I dunno. If somebody walked up to me and told me “empty your pockets. Let’s see what you got!” I’d assume I was being robbed. And they’d see a Glock 48
Great video Zac, lots of fun seeing you do pocket checks just like the old pocket checks you did at blade HQ. My main work knife is my S30v shaman and my secondary knife is either my S45vn para 3 or my hogue Doug Ritter. Last thing I probably cut was some plastic packaging for repair parts for my job repairing butcher equipment. Keep up the great work Zac and Jamie
Thank Zac, I’ve been doing it for almost 19 years and I get to travel all over arizona repairing the butchers equipment for some of larger grocery chains and some smaller meat shops and cattle processors or game processors.
My EDC consists of a Kizer De L'Orme, and on my keychain an Olight I1R2, Swiss Army SD, Spyderco Manbug, a pill case, and a 500GB Flash Drive. All that gear tops out at 7 ounces. And an iPhone 13 and Apple Watch Series 6
Great video definitely refreshing compared to the super expensive edc stuff you normally find on UA-cam. Current carry as a dad and EMS : Amazon billfold leather wallet iPhone 13 Pro Max Airpods Flashlight- Streamlight Microstream USB (rechargeable ofc) Knife- CRKT M16-01KS Leatherman Raptor Shears Pen- Zebra F701 Watch- Seiko SNE039
Fantastic video! Great fun!! For the past few days I’ve been going ‘old school’, carrying the OG Kershaw Skyline! Lightweight, adequate blade, feels great! Right before watching this video I cut open a package of black bean burgers from the freezer. Lol. Keep up the great work!! New sub here!
Sweet walk around! I enjoyed the vid, always have my Compact in pocket. Was a tough choice between that and the Woodsman, but I love the compact. I crisped up the edge on the bottle opener to strike a ferro rod and tied a fire cord fob on it so I can lite fires.
For my carry: Spyderco Manix 2 LW, The D'Avella Minimalist Leather Wallet by Speakeasy Leather, Leatherman Squirt PS4, O'Light SR1 flashlight, Refyne Copper Pen, GShock 6900 watch, Glock 26, and a Gerber Shard pry tool. Last thing I cut was a box of cat litter LOL!! Great video Zac!!
Here in Germany we dont usually carry knives so the edc scene is very very small here. I carry a CRKT minimalist and a Kizer mini sheepdog paired with an Olight m2r pro for daily use. Love these videos 🤘
Great to see Zac again! Love your stuff. My edc is a ton but I never feel like it: Murray Carter Perfect neck knife, Victorinox Scientist and a Rambler, olight i5t, Leatherman PS4 on keychain and sometimes a folder like my ‘99 Commander or Doug Ritter Benchmade. Peace
I am carrying, Minimalist wallet, refyne bolt action pen, iphone7 *because who needs a new one, leatherman sidekick, bradford guardian 3, s&w shield, airpods & keys on carabiner. Last thing I cut was a zip tie lol. Just realized how much stuff I carry after typing this out. Keep up the good work!
I saw Zac while he was with BladeHQ. Just discovered this new channel and I really love it, this kind of videos are AWESOME so best vibes and keep it up from Costa Rica, Pura Vida!
So awesome!! I’m a dad I can relate to carrying a lot of stuff. Carried my delica 4 and cut probably 50 mature giant size weeds out of some landscaping beds at Home Depot 🤘🏼
Really enjoyed this video. Seemed like good fun for you and the participants of the Pocket Check. As well love seeing people carry fixed blades. I go for a fixed blade whenever feasible. I typically pair a folder if I carry one 3” or bigger. Edit: I’m left handed and the move to fixed blade had two reasons. Full Ambi knife and no gummed up moving parts. Deployed into action. No questions asked. I pull it the pointy sharp part is ready for tasks.
I’m also big on fixed blades man. Seems like everyone’s carrying one to be “tactical” I’m no knife fighter nor do I want to be if I’ve got to defend my life there’s another hmmm tool for that that I am very proficient with and have been over the years. Fixed blades just take a beating and whether I’m hacking shit for a duck blind on the fly early morning dropping that fucker in the water and mud, cleaning a deer, opening boxes, prying shit open, shotgunning beers, or what have you a fixed blade only fails when the bastard snaps in two. No springs to worry about, a simple dip in water and a wipe and it’s clean and not rusting up on you, no locks to fail, when you gotta cut something that may be deoendant on time it’s get a secure grip pull and cut. Why’s that important. Heard a trot line horror story. Guy got a trot line hook stuck in his hand pulled him out of the boat. Imagine being there and trying to finesse a pocket knife out with your thumb and index and dropping it to the bottom while your boat floats away with a giant hook in your hand attached to 300 lb test bank line. If it’s a folder I’m prolly carrying an opinel or griptillian tho. I just like the damn things. And I have beat the ever loving shit out if my griptilian at this point I’m jjst waiting to break it and it won’t break😂 But any outdoor activity I will 100% have a fixed blade. And any situation that I can have one I’ll have it.
This video was so much fun to watch -- love a good ol' pocket dump! I'm keeping it light in the pocket right now: Quiet Carry Drift for the blade along with an olight i3t flashlight. In the pouch I've got a Leatherman squirt ps4, Vero fulcrum mini, fisher space pen, and the baby Banter. Last used to cut open a package :-)
Latest carry has been Fox Baby Core Micarta in M390 (but it's usually a spyderco or the banter). I make wooden pens on the lathe so last thing I cut was the CA glue from the bushing so it wouldn't peel off a big chunk. Good stuff as always Zac.
@@NG_Ark Nope. I've kinda kicked my knife collecting addiction bc for the most part that 7 dollar husky knife will do the same thing that a Chris reeves will do 😂 obviously I appreciate the craftsmanship of those knives and love my collection, but at the end of the day, a knife is a tool to cut things with and I have better uses for my money hehe
Cool video! I just got into overlanding. Cool to see what other guys into the hobby carry. I honestly expected more inexpensive knives, but majority was Benchmade. The reality of the last thing you cut was spot on. Boxes, food packaging, etc.
Love the Pocket Dump series! More please! ... I carry a custom Vicorinox Compact with CF Scales and corkscrew delete, as well as a Streamlight single AAA light and a Knafs Lander👍
uhm.. 350$ is nothing for a good Knife. You can pay Tousends of $, so he is right, its just a Microtech🤷♂️ (my Mircotech Ultratech lives in a Medic Pack bc i dont care about it 😂😂😂)
OMG! Okay. So. I carry an aluminum m390 bug out and a mini crooked river, usually a esee izula 2 for a neck knife, an olight pro warrior, a titanium lock pick set, a bic lighter with gorilla tape on it, chap stick, an iPhone 13 pro, a vice hardware f1 wallet, a leatherman surge with bit kit and extra saw, a sig sauer p365, always titan survival paracord bracelet, a ferro rod of some variety, and depends on the day but either a spartan blades difensa or a Benchmade bushcrafter. Gotta be prepared!!! Love your channel man!!!
I carry a small victorinox at work that I use to open antibiotic packages that are otherwise hard to open. It’s great seeing your face on UA-cam more and more!
Great stuff! Your content always rocks. Right now I’ve got a leather front pocket wallet, Benchmade Bugout, truck key, Olight S1R Baton 2 and a small Kershaw 8810 prybar tool.
I look forward to your videos, this one did not disappoint! Carrying my TRM Shadow I got this past weekend at Blade. Last thing I cut was the ripe Banana Peppers off of my plant.
Really enjoyed this video A LOT! Great idea to pocket check people at the event. My knife today was the bladehq spyderco para 3 lightweight in M4 and I cut open bags of black mulch and garden soil for my tomato plants and sunflowers.
Lol this was so awesome to see!!!! Alot of great edc gear out in the wild!!!!! Today's carry white river m1 caper pro, blade hq s45vn Malibu blue,benchmade940 the original and my Leatherman skeletool and my olight warrior mini in camo!!!!the last thing I cut was my garden hose to fix a leak by reconnecting new hardware!!!!I use my knives multiple times every day for literally thousands of things!!!!
Sick vid Zac as always! Good to see you out and about again! Carrying the WE Banter and used it to cut open the packaging for the Civivi Baby Banter WIUG edition.
Looks like a fun event! I loved the variety of pocket dumps. Mine would have been, minimalist leather wallet by Saddleback Leather, iPhone, truck keys, OC spray, Streamlight Wedge, Hogue mini RSK, and dog poop baggies. Keep the content coming!
Great vid Zac thanks! Love the pocket checks! I have my I5t olight on fr right belt loop, gerber dime in the 5th pocket, victorinox tinker in the front right pocket and I’m using my M4 half serrated benchmade bailout to cut sod right now!
After 49 rolls it was finally dull lol - gotta sharpen it up today! Also threw it to my wife to cut some branches and thanks to the green handle it was lost in the bushes for a bit 🤣
Love your videos Zac! Keep up the good work. Today I'm carrying my old James brand Folsom with green micrarta. Didn't know much about steels back then but loved the micarta. Still do... Right now I'm anxiously awaiting Ben's new knafs project the I backed on Kickstarter.
Great Pocket Checks. I always carry a Victorinox Compact with me.Today I cut an apple with the knife and I was cutting a branch during my hike today and did a little carving. The pen i often use for little Notes ;-) The Compact is the Best EDC, iam carry this since 2010 nearly every day. Best wishes from Germany 🙂
I’ve been a fan since your early days at BHQ. I even found myself worrying about ya during the “quiet months” between BQH and just recently. I’ve told ya before and I stand by it…. You belong in front of a camera. Keep up the blog work. Don’t ever leave us for months again. Lol. Peace!
Big fan of the way you skim right over the phone! Love the pocket notebook. I carry a wallet separately but I also have a notebook that I love quite similar to yours! I treat it almost like a phone case too. Makes it suck to carry tbh but I like that because it distanced me from the phone
Thanks Zach, so happy you're still Zaching healthy. Always, always have my Compact on me, just used the scissors to cut a vine in my path walking the dog lol
Love the video ... Today I have my favorite, BHQ Banter with 20CV and Ti Scales ... Used it to cut open a pack of dog treats because my pup was a good boy.
Looks like fun! Bench made got some free advertising. Your the only Victorinox guy. Love their knives. Have carried one over 50 years now. Surprised that not many had more than one knife. I carry 2 or 3 on any given day. Guess I just love knives 🤪
I carry a spyderco tenacious, o light I t3 plus, generic tactical pen, I phone 13,& Swiss wallet with rfdi. Thanks for the video it was cool. Have a blessed day.
I used to watch you on Blade HQ and had no idea you had your own channel. Love the content man, just subscribed! I love old school knives, I always carry a buck 112, and the last thing I cut was, you guessed it, a box
I just wanted to say that I stumbled across this video and that it brought me some joy seeing you guys in knife related action again. I think it was around 2017 that I fell into the the knife hobby literally it's Ben and your fault Zac that I've dropped way too much loot on knives.. lmaoo. Those HQ vids around that time really drew me in and later with you and Kurt.. and Jamie. Wish you well on all your latest adventures!
Benchmade 940, Gerber armbar drive. The same notebook you have! Which is supper cool. Refyne EP1. Last thing cut was the bad tags off my tool box and duffel bag. Love your videos!!!
Fun video and good to see the group. Saw Talons video the other day so was wondering if you had one coming. Pocket checks are always interesting. Good call on the dad call out, feel like I have to carry a million things to make sure I’m prepared. For carry, atually had the WE Banter as well in 20cv and used it to score a piece of wood I was using for backing on some sheetrock. Also used the scissors on my Victorinox to cut the packaging for my kids Jurassic World toy, haha.
I have a slightly modified Kershaw flourish, I sanded all the edges off the scales because it was very sharp in the hand. Feels much better now and the last thing I cut was shrink wrap on a pallet of potting soil
So good catching up dude!

Love the Pocket Dump series! More please! ... I carry a custom Vicorinox Compact with CF Scales and corkscrew delete, as well as a Streamlight single AAA light and a Knafs Lander👍
Zac - good to see a video by you. A lot of fun. I found myself smiling because I enjoyed this video so much.
Glad to hear it! Thanks for tuning in!
UA-cam unsubscribed me!! I can’t believe it. Awesome video as always. Best YT channel let’s go!!!

Thanks so much!
He is carrying around a $350 knife and he’s saying “iT’s JUsT a MIcRoTEcH”. Wtf.
Cool use for the SAK! Thanks man👊

Great stuff! Your content always rocks. Right now I’ve got a leather front pocket wallet, Benchmade Bugout, truck key, Olight S1R Baton 2 and a small Kershaw 8810 prybar tool.
Great carry!
I look forward to your videos, this one did not disappoint! Carrying my TRM Shadow I got this past weekend at Blade. Last thing I cut was the ripe Banana Peppers off of my plant.
Great video! I enjoyed it. Fun seeing what people carry. Next time, ask women what they carry. It would be cool to see.
That was a fun video. If I had been there we would have needed a table to display all the stuff I carry in my belt pouch. LOL
So genuine, thanks Zac
love this kind of edc episode! cheers!
Man these guys are obsessed with those banters. Every video
Really enjoyed this video A LOT! Great idea to pocket check people at the event. My knife today was the bladehq spyderco para 3 lightweight in M4 and I cut open bags of black mulch and garden soil for my tomato plants and sunflowers.
Love it! Good luck on the garden🤘
Awesome video. First time here. Thank you
Oh wow so glade to see you! Awesome!

Glad you found me!
Sick vid Zac as always! Good to see you out and about again!
Carrying the WE Banter and used it to cut open the packaging for the Civivi Baby Banter WIUG edition.
Nice😎
Looks like a fun event! I loved the variety of pocket dumps. Mine would have been, minimalist leather wallet by Saddleback Leather, iPhone, truck keys, OC spray, Streamlight Wedge, Hogue mini RSK, and dog poop baggies. Keep the content coming!
Great stuff Zac. Channel is getting on the must watch list.
Thanks dude👊
Great vid Zac thanks! Love the pocket checks! I have my I5t olight on fr right belt loop, gerber dime in the 5th pocket, victorinox tinker in the front right pocket and I’m using my M4 half serrated benchmade bailout to cut sod right now!
Nice knife to cut sod! Good luck with the project👊
@@zacinthewild Oh Yeah!!!!! And thank u for a sweet vid to watch while working 🔪👊🏿
After 49 rolls it was finally dull lol - gotta sharpen it up today! Also threw it to my wife to cut some branches and thanks to the green handle it was lost in the bushes for a bit 🤣
Great video…love some pocket checks and the stories! I rock the Spyderco Pacific Salt 2 H1 in black. Gotta get them packages open!
Got to!😁
Love your videos Zac! Keep up the good work. Today I'm carrying my old James brand Folsom with green micrarta. Didn't know much about steels back then but loved the micarta. Still do... Right now I'm anxiously awaiting Ben's new knafs project the I backed on Kickstarter.
James Brand does have some nice micarta.
Love this video, Zac. Hope you keep it up. Can't wait to see what else you come out with.
Thanks! Lots more on the way.
Love this! We need more of these videos
I’ve been a fan since your early days at BHQ. I even found myself worrying about ya during the “quiet months” between BQH and just recently. I’ve told ya before and I stand by it…. You belong in front of a camera. Keep up the blog work. Don’t ever leave us for months again. Lol. Peace!
Thanks so much man! Plan is to keep truck’n on the videos.👊
Big fan of the way you skim right over the phone! Love the pocket notebook. I carry a wallet separately but I also have a notebook that I love quite similar to yours! I treat it almost like a phone case too. Makes it suck to carry tbh but I like that because it distanced me from the phone
Distancing from phones is always a good thing in my opinion😁
Love pocket check 😍love pocket check 😍 good job
Thanks Zach, so happy you're still Zaching healthy. Always, always have my Compact on me, just used the scissors to cut a vine in my path walking the dog lol
Nice! Compact for life!
@@zacinthewild bro, your incessant compact ranting on BHQ convinced me. Literally use it every day now. My personal and sincerest thanks, cheers!
Love the video ... Today I have my favorite, BHQ Banter with 20CV and Ti Scales ... Used it to cut open a pack of dog treats because my pup was a good boy.
Got to treat the good boi!
Great video Zac. The last thing I cut was opening a bag of coffee with my CJRB more maileah.
Caffeine and calories😁
Glad you found me! I live the Buck 112. I have the auto.
Miss watching you at BladeHQ man! Keep pumping these vidz out!
Glad you found us! Hope there’s been some enjoyment with the knife addiction😁
Great video! Zac.
I carry a Giantmouse Ace Biblio, the skeletool and wallet, phone, keys and some coins.
Benchmade 940, Gerber armbar drive. The same notebook you have! Which is supper cool. Refyne EP1. Last thing cut was the bad tags off my tool box and duffel bag. Love your videos!!!
Got to get rid of those ugly tags!
Awesome vid! Loving these pocket checks in the wild. Currently in Saudi Arabia and have my trusty grimsmo rask and microtech feather on me.
Sounds like you got it all on lock down😁
The good stuff man. Rad video. Carrying a Para 3, Victorinox Tinker, and Fenix E12 flashlight.
That is just classic after classic! Great carry!
I have a slightly modified Kershaw flourish, I sanded all the edges off the scales because it was very sharp in the hand. Feels much better now and the last thing I cut was shrink wrap on a pallet of potting soil
