I've done over 2600 km without any issues the only thing I needed to do was replace the front tire to was just worn out. These are great reliable quality scooters.
@@Andrew-cg2zl I'm in Perth Australia and I'm friendly with a scooter mechanic. They really don't like fixing or replacing Ninebot tyres cos they're a bit of a hassle especially the back ones
I’ve had my Max for 9 months now. Only 1 issue with charging, it completely stopped charging, I contacted Segway and their 1 year warranty covered it. I shipped it for free they repaired it and returned it within 2 weeks. Amazing scooter! Couldn’t be happier.
Hello sir, Thanks for the information and the detail you've given me or you are giving us about your scooter the Segway ninebot Max. I have also received my segway ninebot Max scooter today. This is my fourth scooter but it's also the most expensive scooter I have bought so far from Amazon. The previous scooters where cheap and t disappointing actually. I didn't ride them for very long time the first one was a Jetson it was between $250 300 there I don't know it was fine but it was very weak the rear fender broke when I hit a bump and I returned it. The other two were bad, I returned them and I was refunded my money now let me see this one I believe this one is much better and according to what I have had from basically UA-cam within for that price because I bought it about $747.00 ,852 with taxes. Thanks you. Taddeo Mugagga from Durham, NC
I'm going to do another full range test in standard mode within the next 2 weeks. See how much distance I can cover. Don't forget to subscribe to be notified when I post that.
@@chrisibanez6781 Depends on the uphill but here's a generalization. Essentially trying to go uphill in any mode other than Sport Mode is pretty bad. Trying to go up in eco mode is close to impossible, going up in standard mode is not that great. Going up in sport mode is ok, if it's a super hill, you need to go side to side. But I will say I was pretty impressed what sport mode can do considering the price of this scooter.
@@chrisibanez6781 Here's a video I did going up a super hill (both incline and length) but had to go side to side to make it. ua-cam.com/video/JHZrmlSd1Kg/v-deo.html&t=2m39s
I have the ninebot max too bro, i have almost 1000 miles on that thing already if not pretty close to it. It's smooth, the range is incredible no complaints on that department, only thing is i got a flat front tire after about 4 months of use. Replacing it tomorrow, The versatility of this commuting tool is great, you could uber eats, go from train station to anywhere, for fun, sight seeing, beach etc(battery last slightly less when used in hot days) its a rough 30+ mile radius on a full charge (and it's fast charge, 6 hours) the plus is IF you are 200lbs or below in weight. The front light is bright at night. I love this scooter so far. I'm 185 lbs and just to give a more graphic description, you can go from south central USC to Hollywood echo park on a 100 percent charge and have 25% left over
Hi! I just got mine. It's the g30e II. So I just noticed that my motor probably is the old one because the serial no starts with (6......) Not (9......). You complained in your video about speed decrease over battery depletion. Do you also have the old motor starting with 6.....something? It's writen in the left side of the back wheel. Thanks in advance, hope to hear from you soon.
@@enriquec.7057 for uphills, yes, it's slow for me on uphills. On the flats, it's fine. This scooter is really good and delivers pretty good range. If you want something faster, I recently reviewed the Hiboy Titan (retails $900) and has less range but it's much faster for top speed and acceleration. Review: ua-cam.com/video/gEY7rGsgRu8/v-deo.html Hiboy Titan: amzn.to/3rBy1Y8 Granted I should mention, both of these scooters have a max limit of 220lbs, I've had more weight on it than that and it was fine but I do want to mention the weight limit.
Hi, you mentioned there is a sequence for fixing the brake error software. Can you please explain the steps and how YOU fixed it? Btw, was the beeping giving you error 19? It seems like it has become a common issue. Thanks
I can't remember the error number since it happened a while ago. Solution from bfarm44, "Hold the brake lever and turn the scooter on then turn it off again before you release the lever. It’s a reset"
Love mine, been great and works great helping me keep up with my kids. Bad back issues that are permanent. For speed and distance I break out my Dualtron Thunder. Now THATS heavy. This thing is not heavy at all.
Wow, how's that beast of a scooter? Is it even a scooter at that point? How do you get on the ninebot max after you ride that lol? Dualtron is probably a legitimate car replacement :)
Try the following: "Hold the brake lever and turn the scooter on then turn it off again before you release the lever. It’s a reset" If this doesn't work there might actually be a problem. If so check out this post on reddit: www.reddit.com/r/ElectricScooters/comments/ev4bfl/ninebot_max_error_code_15/
Gen 1 (Designated by a S/N starting with 6) Motor limits speed at I think 55%, Gen 2 Motor (Designated by a S/N starting with 9) fixed the issue and is able to go the 18.6 all the way to 15%.
Yes it's tubeless and does lose air over time. There's some goo inside to help prevent it from getting flat. In the case it does get flat, it does take some effort to change the tire. The bolts are underneath the reflective stickers on the sides of the tires. So definitely something time consuming.
Hi , are you sure that you have a small crack on your dashboard ? In your video it looks like you still have the clear plastic sticker attached. Probably that clear sticker is damaged.
I don't see how ANY scooter could maintain it's top speed with a drained battery. watts is volts x amps. As the battery drains, volts go down, thus watts go down.
Yup, the simple P=IV equation. It mentions it on the Ninebot website as well stating "18.6 mph Top Speed *Top speed may be impacted by battery level, environmental temperature and available traction.” But I did get a few comments saying it doesn't slow down as battery decreases so I just mentioned in my review that mine specifically does.
@@landpet Speed dips once the battery percentage drops below 40% and that happens a lot on my Xiaomi Pro w/unlocked speed limit to 35km/hr! Won't matter if you are riding on your e-scooter for a short distance of 3km, if greater than 5km then it will start to dip.

I enjoy mine too. Have close to 500 km now. It’s perfect as my commute to work (9 km) so I often leave my car home now Here in Belgium it’s capped at 25kph (by law I believe) One downside I have is that when driving in the dark using the front light, the speed is slower unless I first accelerate and then turn in the light. I don’t know if anyone else has had this issue. Otherwise it keeps its speed until you go below like 2 bars maybe
Nice, using it for work too. How long did it take for you to reach 500 km? P.S. I believe that entire EU has 25 km/h law limit, except Germany, they have 20.
Zlatko Herzl 3 months or so. But I only use it 2 times a week currently, because weather has been horrible last 5 weeks and I admit I don’t like using it when it rains.
At 3k miles I replaced rear tire with a solid tire. At 3.2k miles I replaced cracked rear fender and added a fender support too. At 3.5k miles inside the folding mechanism a small metal link cracked, was able to order and replace. At 4k the mickey mouse fast charging port stopped working, luckily the 2nd standard port still works. (slower charging) not bad for all those miles. I recommend. NYC Ninebot Max G30
@@edgaryzen4925 I now had it for 2 years. I only use it for commuting to work on NYC bike lanes (10 miles each way ) I know have 6,400 miles on it. I use the regenerative braking at strong and never had to replace the brakes. Never had issues with acceleration throttle or motor. I did avoid heavy rain when possible. And I got lucky by finding a small shop that replaces and fixes just about everything. Solid tires replacement and tires for $200. Rear fender replacement and work $50. 2 months ago I replaced the the folding mechanism and pole cause it got wobbly and felt like it was gonna get worse. The shop had it in stock , work and parts $180. I'm now ready for a faster scooter with shock absorb. So yes, ninebot max to me is worth the price and maintenance costs being that it's my 1st scooter.
I had mine for 6 months no issues like you but now my scooter will not take a charge I plug it in it will start to charge then it will stop I did noticed my battery does not flash anymore wondering if its done with
I'm not sure, maybe best to reach out to ninebot, they may suggest a factory reset but I don't know if that will do anything if the battery is done for.
If you have a 1st generation Ninebot Max G30, then there is a reported issue with the motor not going to full speed when battery is below 50%. The 2nd generation Ninebot Max G30 does not have that issue until the battery reaches around 15% of power remaining. You can tel the difference between the two generations by the serial number on the motor/rear wheel hub, if the SN start with a 6 then it is 1st generation, if the SN starts with a 9 then it is a 2nd generation MaxG30. THANKS, I appreciate the video.
I am new to scooters. What is the resource for service and parts if needed? Replacement tires too. There are a pair for sale near me for 550 each. I’m very interested. I just don’t want to get stuck with a couple lemons. Anyone have any feedback for me?
How's the shock absorber on this one? I suffering from two herniated disc, and I'm very much in need of a standing vehicle that gives me as little shock as possible. I'm even considering a suspension scooter like Zero 10X, and Inokim Ox.
Sorry to hear that. This might not be the best option for you. It's fairly smooth on smooth roads but can get shaky, bending your knees always helps. I just got the Inmotiom L9 which has shocks and I'm going to do some more range tests with that, that one seems softer but still requires knee bending. The thing is that even with shocks they still need to be on the stiff side so you can get a controllable ride (non wobbly).
@@rbmanb I haven't ridden either one but those two are way better the Ninebot MAX or the Inmotion L9. A part of me doesn't want to ride it, cause I'll buy it, hahahaha. It would be hard to go from that to what I normally ride. These two are really commuter scooters that are good for the price, especially the Ninebot MAX. Those are going to be more comfortable because of the wider deck, the suspension and the wider handle bars which really helps with balance. I was at one point considering the Zero 10X but the one I would choose with the hydraulic brakes costing over 2K, I'm like I don't need it for the mainly short trips I use these things for. Granted, it's not out of the question lol.
@@landpet Finally got mine. It's the Zero 10x 52v, Chinese battery, added hydraulic brakes, costed me 1.5k here in Taiwan (local seller bought it from China but I get the best service here in Taiwan). It was a bit of a hassle to fix some issues that came with the company installing the brakes in a bit of a weird way, but I'm very satisfied with the scooter, it's just wow! My first scooter and still, the dual motor mode, it's like flying with a rocket all the way to the moon!
@landpet How common is it for the rear light to come off or come loose from its fixture? Which version does the rear light pop out, the pink or gold version or is it both?
Hello. I have had this scooter since december 2019. I was in need of a smartphone holder for my Max G30 so I thought why won't I just buy a Segway original smartphone holder? So what I did was buy an original Segway smartphone holder but after using it for 6 months, this holder SUCKS! I was driving around with my kickscooter many times and a few times driving through street gutters and other bumps in the road made my smartphone come loose and end up hitting the tarmac. Luckily my iPhone has an outstanding protection case which absorbed the impact very well. To make a long story short, what smartphone holder are you using, does it hold your phone well at higher speeds?
This is the one I use (amzn.to/2PivNQs). It hasn't failed yet (no phone drops, no issues with it coming apart), I wouldn't say it's perfect but it's pretty good.
You don't need to use bluetooth or have your phone on to use the scooter. The app becomes optional after one time setup. Therefore it doesn't matter if your phone is off or on, the app is there to "lock" the device or give you stats like battery percentage, etc.
Does anyone get a faint but high pitched whistling sound from the rear wheel when riding? I've had mine three days (maybe 20 miles) and this started happening today.
I know ninebot max hasn't had the best availability of parts. I know it's only going to get better with time as with all other things. I can't speak to the availability of parts the m365 pro but doing a quick search does show parts. As far as mods, there are options for both for cfw depending on what you're looking to do.
@bootnsoot I doubt they are easy to replace, I see a non inflatable option for 10 dollars. I should've mentioned that in my video, I was just thinking the yellow glue inside the tire will help make it last long against punctures. Hoping it the tread will last a year or two without replacing the tires :) but that is me being optimistic.
Can you tell me, if you ride in drive mode, whats your range? My m365 pro can drive about 32 km range in drive mode (20km/h), by the way, im 90 kg and outside temprature was about 9 celcius
Ninebot Max has the following modes: Energy Saving mode, Standard mode and Sport mode. I'm assuming you mean standard mode? Where it displays "D" on the screen.
@@autotaxmo for a full battery drain test, it's only been sport mode. I think most people were interested in that. I usually ride it on sport mode as well. I have a few things in mind for upcoming videos but I will try to get in a standard range test as well. You're looking for standard range with throttle down most of the time I presume?
No, it doesn't go higher. Weight limit is at 220lbs but just a heads up I've had over 260lba on this thing and it's been fine but just worth noting that it's rated at 220lbs
@@mikeyyt737 I don't want to say if it will be ok or not, I'm just saying that I've had 260 lbs on it and it was fine. The scooter is rated for 220lbs. I think the handle bar height should be fine, I've had a few of my taller friends (maybe 6'1") ride it and they said it was fine. If you do plan on getting it, I would suggest getting it from a place that has a good return policy in case it doesn't hold up. Just a heads up, I ordered the Inmotion L9 (a while ago from IndieGoGo), still waiting to receive it but they are trying to compete with the Ninebot MAX with supposedly more range (which I will test), more powerful motor and shocks. I'm going to have several videos coming up as soon as I get it which is "soon" according to Inmotion.
hi there , i have an error 19 on my es4 and i was having problems after downloading updated an app and said something about overcharged and now it will not due nothing but blinking on rear tail lights and a red wrench shows up on my dashboard , any ideas ?
I don't have an es4 so can't give you much help other than doing some google searching I came across the following: Someone suggested to take out the extra battery and put it back on and that does a software reset. Granted I don't know if that will fix anything or not as I don't have the ES4.
Depends what you're looking for: Ninebot Max: Quicker Acceleration, Longer Range, Heavier, Can go up some hills, More Expensive X7 Pro: Slower Acceleration, Shorter Range, Much Lighter, Has trouble going up hills, Less Expensive
If you could go back to the moment your purchased this MAX, would you still buy it or go for something LIGHTER with some sort of SUSPENSION? I was seriously considering buying the MAX but luckily I met a cool guy in the subway with an e-scooter with DIY mods on it...some brand I never heard or seen but it is nice. I asked him about it and he advised me to get something LIGHT and put a SEAT on it. He drilled a NINEBOT seat post on the board and it's very comfy has a spring too.
That's a great question, if I could go back in time, yes I would still buy this scooter. I wanted something with some range. While I want the scooter to be lighter, I would also say it's not ridiculously heavy. I considered the fact that I'm really not going to be carrying it all that often. I only lift when going upstairs or loading/unloading from my car if I'm taking it elsewhere to ride. I also like the placement of the battery, makes the scooter feel more naturally balanced. It would be nicer with shocks but the 10" pnuematic tires help, if you keep your knees bent then you will be golden. I did numerous range tests that I've posted. All my range tests have been done almost non-stop (other than the red-lights and a 2 minute break here and there). Riding the scooter for more than 3 hours straight and no issues, that also says there's durability since I'm around 200 lbs (~91 kg) with all my gear. Prior to the MAX, I heavily considered the M365 and the ES4 but I just couldn't get it, I felt like while they both seem good, there were some things that were lacking. Now if you check Amazon, the MAX has lots of reviews and they're mostly positive. It has higher ratings compared to the other two I considered. At the end of the day, it really depends on the person and their circumstance. If you're going to be carrying it 8 flights of stairs, or literally carrying it everywhere, then yes weight should be heavily considered. If you don't need the range, then that's fine as well. If you want to get a scooter with less range and shocks, that's also an option. I got a ton of range questions on this scooter hence I did various range tests, so I would assume most people that like this scooter have range in mind.
@@landpet appreciate the effort and time you put in your response. That wins you a SUB! Interesting because that's exactly the 3 models I've been thinking about. Thanks
@@WHITELIONNYC Thanks for the SUB! That's interesting you had the 3 exact models in mind as well. I should also mention, a new scooter will be coming out in the next few months called the Inmotion L9. Looks like they're targeting the MAX based on their ad (Inmotion: 59.4 Max miles vs Competitor: 40.4 Max miles). It's going to have more range and shocks (weighs a tad bit more) for $100 more. It will be an interesting test between the two. I ordered that one as well, will be doing a few tests against my MAX, in addition to some range tests, etc.. At the very least, it will make for some good competition. Either way, I'm really happy with my MAX.

How to make sure you don't crash into a cyclist on those cyclist path where there are bends? Could you take yours out and go through parks with cerment path where they have cyclist sharing it? How do you navigate this slow down?
Damn good review. Question. I am deciding between the segway ninebot max g30lp or the segway ninebot max. I'm 5'3 187. But looking for good speed and stability. What do you suggest? Would appreciate your honest feedback before I make a purchase tysm.
Thanks! The G30LP is the newer, smaller, lighter, lower range version of the MAX, the G30LP also requires the power brick (ac/dc converter) as a charger (which I'm sure it comes with) but it's a little less convenient for travel if that's relevant. For comfort, the original MAX is better (the one I have) cause it has a larger deck. If range isn't as important and the deck size is a little smaller doesn't bother you, then get the G30LP otherwise go with the Max. If you go up a lot of stairs or need something smaller (a few inches smaller than the original MAX) to fit in a trunk then go with the G30LP.
I just took a look as I have not tried it. It looks possible, there are two wires going to the brake lever, one from the outside and from inside the frame. There are a lot of screws that you can take off so it looks possible. A few things to keep in mind, if you plan on using the same brake lever than you will flip it upside down so the screws will be sticking up. Another thing is, you will most likely have to move the clip that's used to latch on to the rear fender when it's folded. Luckily both sides of the handle bar have cut-outs so doesn't look like you will need to drill anything to take out the inside wire (inside the frame) of the brake lever.
I have a few range tests on this, it depends on how much you weigh as well. Around 200lbs I got around 28 miles on the fast speeds. If you’re lighter than me and don’t do as many hills, you can pass 30 miles. I will say the slower speeds have trouble with the hills.
Funny you mentioned the top speed issue again. I do wonder why mine can’t maintain its top speed beyond the first bar and the drops more and more. Did you ever get to the bottom of this? Again a few people on this video mentioned maintaining full speed. I’m 80kg, running custom firmware with my region changed to US.
I think Gara Von Hoiwkenzoiber said something that made the most sense. It's a simple equation of P (watts) = I(amps) * V(volts), as battery drains, the volts drain and therefore wattage is decreased. It also says this on the Ninebot site: "18.6 mph Top Speed *Top speed may be impacted by battery level, environmental temperature and available traction.”
I see what your saying. Basically the volt’s will inevitably be lower the more the battery drains. Though I think it’s not that simple with something this high-tech. 🤔 While the is Max rated at 551Wh, you can draw more then 551 watts from the battery pack. For example you can draw double the watts for half the time (1100 watts for 30 min). Most lithium batteries handle more than their rated capacity in current draw. Panasonic cells for example can handle around 3x their rated capacity (3C). What it comes comes down to how well the scooter regulates the voltage sag. I think the max operates in 1 of 3 ways. A) Regulated voltage is delivered to the motor. B) The voltage delivered to the motor fluctuates with battery drain (unregulated). C) Regulated voltage is delivered to the motor, though the controller has been programmed to reduce top speed to increase range.
@@OutdoorsIQ Yup, something along those lines. What I do know is that more people say that speed decreases vs people that say it doesn't. Weight must play a factor as well. Either way for the price, it's truly a great scooter.
Loving mine, it’s rock solid. The problem is I can’t get my wife off mine! She rides it about 90% of the time haha... Will need to get her one too. I suspect the people without speed drop are experiencing inaccurate readings on the dash. Or perhaps weight like you said...
You can get the ac/dc converter and charge with that instead but can't use both chargers at the same time from what I've read. Its not labeled as a fast charger so my assumption is no fast charger
I haven’t seen anything official like on the ES4 but I’ve seen this site: www.nordbot.xyz/guide I’ve only heard of it, haven’t tried it or anything and it will probably void your warranty.
It could've been my fault but if it was, I didn't know what I did to cause it. It may have been covered under warranty but they could've easily said that I cracked it so I didn't bother. I don't think it I caused the crack.
@@landpet Thank it turned out to be a defective hall sensor in the brake handle. I posted a video on my channel to show what happened and also a preemptive fix to ensure vibrations from riding don’t cause it again

If not, can you let us know what made you lose interest and initial pro's cons versus after 2 years experience pro's con's. Thanks!
I am interested in electric scooters, latest one that I'm testing is the Apollo Phantom and it's amazing. I haven't been riding the ninebot max as much since I have a few scooters, I've been riding the Hiboy Titan and the Apollo Phantom since I'm getting ready to do long term reviews on those. Ninebot max still works very well, solid scooter, I would have just about the same opinions now as I did back then with my 5 months later video.
@@landpet wow somehow I missed it! I'm going back and forth between the Ghost and Phantom. The Phantom costs considerably more than the Ghost so I'm interested in learning if it's worth it since the Ghost is great enough. My concern is the abundance of quality control issues with the Phantom all over the net. I'm thinking maybe wait for the second or third batch. I look forward to your vids! 💪🏻🤓👍🏻
How is bro listing the locking mechanism as a con, you need to buy a physical lock you can’t expect something that partially restricts the wheels and acts as a warning to make it unstealable
I have a lock that I feed through the hole in the wheel. It works fine. The first one I bought, wouldn't connect to the app so I had to pay over $100 to return it (amazon). The 2nd one I ordered connected right away.
That sucks you had to pay to return it. I use a u lock and that works fine as well. Granted I try to take the scooter with me when I go somewhere. I don’t fully trust locks
I would try to avoid it as the roads get slippery. If it's sprinkling, then it's probably fine but again I try to avoid using scooters or bikes in the rain.
If you're carrying it a flight of stairs all the time, just know it definitely is on the heavier side. As far as commuter scooter, thing thing is awesome for the price. I did a whole bunch of range tests and averaged around ~28 miles (45km) weighing in around 200lbs with my gear. It feels well balanced and as far as stress tests, all my range tests were basically non-stop ridings (other than the red lights) and it did just fine. Yes, I really like this scooter. For longer rides (> 1 hour), I recommend bending your knees. I wish ninebot gave me a discount code, I've done several videos on this ninebot max and have had since their Indiegogo days. Doesn't hurt for me to ask them. They are a huge company so don't know if they'll care to give me one and the scooter is selling itself. I'll let you know either way.
landpet thanks for a quick reply. I am looking something for now and so far trying to choose between ninebot max Xiaomi 365 pro or techlife x5. Was looking for any videos with comparisons techlife x5 vs ninebot max but there is nothing.
No worries! Yeah, I think between the Xiaomi 365 pro or Ninebot MAX. I would go with the Ninebot MAX personally even though they're pretty similar. As far as the techlife x5, I can't say one way or the other. After having the ninebot MAX for a while now, I can say it's a good dependable long range scooter. Shocks would definitely make it better (granted there is an aftermarket conversion kit: amzn.to/32dRrcu but it does cost a few bucks) but keeping your knees bent solves that problem unless you're going to be going on dirt roads. I would consider a few things when selecting, other than asking yourself what's your use case, in terms of distance and types of roads you plan on using this thing for. I would also do a quick search on parts availability for each of the scooters in case things go wrong. Having choices is great and drives prices down but it does complicate the decision making. I actually ordered the Inmotion L9 (supposedly getting it in August according to the manufacturer). I'm curious how that's going to stackup against the MAX cause it's really marketed directly against the MAX. I'll have a few videos on that as well as soon as I get it.
Just had another look on the web what else I can get for that kind of money and found speedway mini IV pro. Have you had any experience with this one ? It looks great and comfortable but slightly more money the ninebot max.
It's funny you mentioned that one cause a part of me wants to get the Dualtron Mini, definitely costs a lot more compared to the MAX but it's a BEAST compared to it. The Speedway Mini 4 Pro has less range but pretty much better in every other category. If you're willing to spend more than that's a nice upgrade! I haven't tried any dualtron or speedway's, curious though. Looks like it'll be more fun!
Sure can but I don't know if it's good for your battery. I believe only electric cars are recommended to be left plugged in, everything else with a battery I believe reduces battery life is you leave it plugged in.
Are you referring to that yellow stuff inside the tires that help prevent flats? Or are you referring to the yellow sticker along the sides of the tire? If so, I primarily use the "pink" version. It's the limited edition that was available on IndieGoGo (no longer available). Although it's the same thing.
I usually take it with me. I don't think anything is really secure that's locked outside. I have something like this: amzn.to/30hJmmi and I've used it once or twice. I fold my scooter, go through the front wheel and lock it around the metal that's at 45° [connects the body (standing area) to the front fork and the foldable section]. Is that secure? depends where it's locked lol.
I agreed with all your pros and cons except the weight and locking mechanism complaint. The locking mechanism was never meant to prevent theft, just make it unusable when stolen so they can't zip off with it. A good thick square chain or U lock is CRUCIAL with this scooter. The weight isn't too heavy, it's not light either. It's in the middle of "hefty, but liftable" if you're decently built. If you're a kid or haven't lifted in years, then it's going to be a pain to haul around. You can't balance range and weight either, most of the long-range scooters either have hotswappable batteries or a ton of bulk. I seen 70 and 80lb scooters, now that's some bulk. 40lb is a fair weight, especially for the expectation of 40+ miles.
@@FighterChamp. Inmotion L9 is similar range (from what I've tested even though they advertise more range) with similar water protection. I'm sure there can be other but around that price point and that range, nothing else comes to mind.
I believe this was the sequence from what I remember: Solution from bfarm44, "Hold the brake lever and turn the scooter on then turn it off again before you release the lever. It’s a reset"
If that doesn't work, you can either contact Ninebot support or check out the youtube link on the bottom of this post: www.reddit.com/r/ElectricScooters/comments/ev4bfl/ninebot_max_error_code_15/
Hello mine does that battery alert too how did you fix that?? Great scooter for sure I have two ! Just the battery alert is driving me crazy !! Thanks for the great video
Thanks! I'm not sure I understand, what battery alert are you referring to? Are you referring about my brake error issue? If so, try this: Solution from bfarm44, "Hold the brake lever and turn the scooter on then turn it off again before you release the lever. It’s a reset" Or is it something else you're asking about?
landpet Was riding my Ninebot Max at around 14 MPH in 40°F weather, the scooter then beeped twice and I got an error in the app that said “built in batter sensor error, please replace battery” I turned the scooter off and on again and the error never popped up again. Is it a fluke? Should I contact Ninebot? The scooter only has 50 or so miles on it so I didn’t expect any errors. Also, no error status icons appeared on the screen. Has anyone else had this happen? Is it a real fault or just a bug? Edit: Battery status in the app is reported as “normal” and it has been working great since I got it Edit 2: ninebot got back to me in an email and told me to reset the scooter by deleting the app, holding the brake lever down and cycling it on and off. That seems to have fixed the issue, but if their are any new updates/developments I’ll update this post. Edit 3: error came back today, this time while regen braking down a hill. Will be calling support today
@@landpet That is what SHOCKED ME! A scooter which is meant to me outside. Costs around $1500cdn after tax... and it's got a BELOW AVERAGE water rating... My $1000 cellphone with a wide open charger port can be dumped under the water up to up to 5 FEET for up to 30 MINUTES.. and the scooter is OK for a MIST of rain but not actual rain because the water can seep into the power button and it's not all that protected... Hello sir,
Thanks for the information and the detail you've given me or you are giving us about your scooter the Segway ninebot Max. The other two were bad, I returned them and I was refunded my money now let me see this one I believe this one is much better and according to what I have had from basically UA-cam within for that price because I bought it about $747.00 ,852 with taxes. how's the performance on uphill?
@@chrisibanez6781 Depends on the uphill but here's a generalization. Essentially trying to go uphill in any mode other than Sport Mode is pretty bad. Trying to go up in eco mode is close to impossible, going up in standard mode is not that great. Going up in sport mode is ok, if it's a super hill, you need to go side to side. It's smooth, the range is incredible no complaints on that department, only thing is i got a flat front tire after about 4 months of use. Replacing it tomorrow,
The versatility of this commuting tool is great, you could uber eats, go from train station to anywhere, for fun, sight seeing, beach etc(battery last slightly less when used in hot days) its a rough 30+ mile radius on a full charge (and it's fast charge, 6 hours) the plus is IF you are 200lbs or below in weight. The front light is bright at night. I love this scooter so far. I'm 185 lbs and just to give a more graphic description, you can go from south central USC to Hollywood echo park on a 100 percent charge and have 25% left over
That's awesome you've been using it so much. I really like it also
Mine is definitely the older one cause I got it early on
Great vid man. This really made my mind and I’ll be getting one of these scooters soon
Glad I could help!

Wow, how's that beast of a scooter? Is it even a scooter at that point? How do you get on the ninebot max after you ride that lol? Dualtron is probably a legitimate car replacement :)
landpet kids can’t keep up and the max is still fun and better at crowded functions.
Hi man what's the sequence to get rid of that error code 15 you are getting i have same problem with the ninebot max

Yeah, it's a great scooter. Thanks for the feedback!
Can you lock the throttle at full speed without having to hold it down (disabling the lock upon break press)?
It's called cruise control, and yes.
Yup as long as you enable cruise control in the app as OhWhale already answered.
Gen 1 (Designated by a S/N starting with 6) Motor limits speed at I think 55%, Gen 2 Motor (Designated by a S/N starting with 9) fixed the issue and is able to go the 18.6 all the way to 15%.
Thanks for the heads up.
Awesome. Just wondering if it’s tubeless ; does it lose air over time ? How would you fix a flat ?
Yes it's tubeless and does lose air over time. There's some goo inside to help prevent it from getting flat. In the case it does get flat, it does take some effort to change the tire. The bolts are underneath the reflective stickers on the sides of the tires. So definitely something time consuming.
Hi , are you sure that you have a small crack on your dashboard ?
In your video it looks like you still have the clear plastic sticker attached. Probably that clear sticker is damaged.
Looks like a screen scrack but doesn't bother me, either way.

I am new to scooters. What is the resource for service and parts if needed? Replacement tires too.
There are a pair for sale near me for 550 each. I’m very interested. I just don’t want to get stuck with a couple lemons.
Anyone have any feedback for me?
I haven't looked for local shops, I stick to online for now.
why does the power button seem hard to press, is this normal ? everything works fine though no other issues. please help
It does require some force, maybe cause they don't want you to accidentally press it while you're riding?
@@landpet In that case, would you consider the Zero 10x, or Inokim OX better options?

It should be both, maybe they've fixed it by now but it doesn't hurt to take some precautions.
@landpet will do. Thank you so much for your reply and video. Fair play 👍👍👍
Do you have to use Bluetooth with this scooter, can you turn Bluetooth off.
What happens if the phone battery runs out
You don't need to use bluetooth or have your phone on to use the scooter.
Mine has sounded the same since I've had it. Anyone else?
which one would be easier to get replacement repair parts for and mods, ninebot max or m365 pro?
Does it still work now? I've had a few electric scooters that didn't live pass a year
Works fine, rode it yesterday lol however in all fairness I do have several scooters, so I don’t ride this exclusively.
Is there any problems about battery?
I heard that some of these have battery problem (lower efficiency, especially winter)
I haven’t had an issue with it but yes in winter it will be less, that’s common among most batteries
Can you tell me, if you ride in drive mode, whats your range? My m365 pro can drive about 32 km range in drive mode (20km/h), by the way, im 90 kg and outside temprature was about 9 celcius

is it fine to get a few nic’s on the bottom here and there from higher concrete surfaces?
I have a few minor stuff on the bottom as well.
Would you recommend the Ninebot Max or the Turboant X7 Pro?
Depends what you're looking for:
Ninebot Max: Quicker Acceleration, Longer Range, Heavier, Can go up some hills, More Expensive
X7 Pro: Slower Acceleration, Shorter Range, Much Lighter, Has trouble going up hills, Less Expensive

How has it held up? My es4 kept breaking down and was very dangerous because of that and in general.
So far so good. Still solid, nothing out of the ordinary, keep the tires pumped and you're good to go. I didn't realize the ES4 would break down, I did consider that one before this thing came out but I didn't like the placement of the battery. The Max feels more natural.
@@landpet good choice haha, yeah it broke down, turned off mid ride as I was heading towards a stop at an intersection on a rainy day..brakes are electric but luckily I fixed the manual rear brake as well (fell off before)so I was able to stop before getting run over....but super dangerous as well.... Just one of the many stories .. also went into a muddy area (looked dry on top.mmyes my fault)... Mud ate the wheel... Flew about five feet forward and now have second scars on my hands from that... @@tal32123 Wow, well I'm sorry to hear that. Probably a good idea to change that scooter.

Assuming you have a safe place to lock it. Then yes
@@landpet Thanks. I just need a good reason to save another 800 bucks in pocket money.
Good reason to save 800 bucks is it's healthier to walk or it can get stolen. But scooters are awesome lol. Very convenient and time saving devices.
@@landpet Oh then do you recommend the G30LP model?
@@landpet And I am thinking of an e-scooter because I get muscle pain very often and It is just for my mums house. So I will be biking from my dads.
Does it matter if I weigh 240 pounds like will it break if I try to ride it?
I think it should be fine but as you know it’s rated for 220lbs and below
how does this scooter perform if you ride it on sidewalks? how it handles the bumps on it? knowing this doesn't have a suspension at all.
For a scooter without shocks it's pretty good mainly because of the 10" pneumatic tires. But obviously not as good as something with shocks.
thank you... yeah because i was choosing between this scooter and turbowheel swift....
@@s7ruck998 Thanks, hmmmm I guess it depends what you want. If you want faster speeds, then go with the turbowheel. Ninebot goes longer distance and looks "cleaner", no wires sticking out, etc.. Turbowheel has shocks but a solid rear tire.

Can you move the brake lever, to the right handle bar?
I just took a look as I have not tried it. It looks possible, there are two wires going to the brake lever, one from the outside and from inside the frame. There are a lot of screws that you can take off so it looks possible. A few things to keep in mind, if you plan on using the same brake lever than you will flip it upside down so the screws will be sticking up. Another thing is, you will most likely have to move the clip that's used to latch on to the rear fender when it's folded. Luckily both sides of the handle bar have cut-outs so doesn't look like you will need to drill anything to take out the inside wire (inside the frame) of the brake lever.
Hi sir, i have a question about range vs in real time. On ground road at 20km speed how many time i can last long with a full batterie.
@@OutdoorsIQ Sounds like it's hers now. TIme to get yourself one :)
Is there a fast charging cord available for this scooter?
You can get the ac/dc converter and charge with that instead but can't use both chargers at the same time from what I've read. Its not labeled as a fast charger so my assumption is no fast charger
How is it now after 6 months? Not charging as well?
It's fine, I think the battery has degraded a bit but nothing too bad.
Great review. I just bought this bike. I would like to know how often do I need to inflate the tires of this scooter?
Thanks! I've only inflated it once in the 5 months I've had it.
Check the tire pressure daily during harsher weather mine lost air and the tar from wheel (self repair liquid) went on the sides
Could you get a battery expansion?
I haven’t seen anything official like on the ES4 but I’ve seen this site: www.nordbot.xyz/guide
I’ve only heard of it, haven’t tried it or anything and it will probably void your warranty.
i have one, is there any way to fix small damage
I haven’t tried, are you referring to the acrylic over the speedometer? Probably can unscrew it and pop in a new one
did he replace the tired becuase it all suspost to be yellow
I didn't replace my tire.
Was the crack on the screen your fault? Was it replaced under warranty?
It could've been my fault but if it was, I didn't know what I did to cause it. It may have been covered under warranty but they could've easily said that I cracked it so I didn't bother. I don't think it I caused the crack.
landpet ah ok that sucks.
Yeah but no big deal just worth a mention
What was the sequence for the brake error ?
Here are the steps: "Hold the brake lever and turn the scooter on then turn it off again before you release the lever. It’s a reset"
@@landpet Thank it turned out to be a defective hall sensor in the brake handle. I posted a video on my channel to show what happened and also a preemptive fix to ensure vibrations from riding don’t cause it again

Hi been a while. I'm interested in knowing if you're still interested in electric scooters and if you are, is there any particular ones you're thinking of upgrading to? If not, can you let us know what made you lose interest and initial pro's cons versus after 2 years experience pro's con's. Thanks!
I am interested in electric scooters, latest one that I'm testing is the Apollo Phantom and it's amazing. I have a few videos on it and going to do a range test on it as well but it's incredibly fast (I got it up to 40mph) and fun to ride but I did need to get new protection gear.
Apollo Phantom Unboxing and Review: ua-cam.com/video/ft3rZkYvDrI/v-deo.html
Yeah I typically use a u lock, did a vide on this. I was trying to say don't expect to lock it on your app and leave it, probably not a good idea.
Great review!! How’s it holding up now?
Thanks, still good
What actual range are you getting? Manufacturers say 40 miles ...
28 miles
Can i put ninbot max tires on my ninobot 4 ?
I don't think you can put a ninebot max tire on an es4 since they are different sizes. Max is 10" tires vs 8 and 7.5" tire on the es4.
How is it on wet footpath where it gets slippery?
Similar to a bike, not amazing but doable
Do you recommend using this in the rain????
I would try to avoid it as the roads get slippery. If it's sprinkling, then it's probably fine but again I try to avoid using scooters or bikes in the rain.
@@landpet I know about the fact it getting slippery but does the IP rating allow it to get thru rain and watery paths
Yup, I think it can handle rain if that's your concern.
Would you recommend this for a New York City Rider and do you have a discount code for purchase? Thanks
Liked and subbed! Love your straightforward no BS approach
Thanks! Appreciate it!
How about techlife x5 do you think is better ?
I haven't tried techlife x5, it looks good on paper. If you're willing to wait a few months, I would check out the Inmotion L9.
landpet thanks for a quick reply.
Can you leave it on a charger for days?
Sure can but I don't know if it's good for your battery. I believe only electric cars are recommended to be left plugged in, everything else with a battery I believe reduces battery life is you leave it plugged in.
The ninebot Max had yellow tires in the side?
Are you referring to that yellow stuff inside the tires that help prevent flats?
Or are you referring to the yellow sticker along the sides of the tire? If so, I primarily use the "pink" version. It's the limited edition that was available on IndieGoGo (no longer available). Although it's the same thing.
You could always rename the connection in the Bluetooth settings rather than the Segway app itself
thanks for the heads up
Can't you get your rear tail light serviced at your local e-scooter store or at a Ninebot store? No spare rear tail lights via interweb?
you mean if it pops out? I would imagine so but that's why I put some PPF on it. Or you just talking about repairing it if it goes out?

How you lock/secure your scooter?
I usually take it with me. I don't think anything is really secure that's locked outside. I have something like this: amzn.to/30hJmmi and I've used it once or twice. I fold my scooter, go through the front wheel and lock it around the metal that's at 45° [connects the body (standing area) to the front fork and the foldable section]. Is that secure? depends where it's locked lol.
I use a kryptonite chain
3:21 and they don’t mind you having it with you inside?
Nope, I just walk it inside grocery stores and no one says anything.
I think you have the beta because the back tire it has a pink ring on the newer versions there is a yellowy orangey ring
Mine is an original version, the new ones are version 2. The pink ones are limited edition, only 1000 made
How is the scooter going up hills
Terrible for steep hills, good for normal hills
Yeah I had stairs in mind for the weight but you're right, it's not too heavy considering it's range. Yes a u lock is crucial.
Hello sir, I like about the degree of honesty you portray in this review thank you so much.👍

How did you get rid of error code 15?
I believe this was the sequence from what I remember: Solution from bfarm44, "Hold the brake lever and turn the scooter on then turn it off again before you release the lever. It’s a reset"
If that doesn't work, you can either contact Ninebot support or check out the youtube link on the bottom of this post: www.reddit.com/r/ElectricScooters/comments/ev4bfl/ninebot_max_error_code_15/

Solution from bfarm44, "Hold the brake lever and turn the scooter on then turn it off again before you release the lever. It’s a reset"
Or is it something else you're asking about?
landpet Was riding my Ninebot Max at around 14 MPH in 40°F weather, the scooter then beeped twice and I got an error in the app that said “built in batter sensor error, please replace battery” I turned the scooter off and on again and the error never popped up again. Is it a fluke? Should I contact Ninebot? The scooter only has 50 or so miles on it so I didn’t expect any errors. Also, no error status icons appeared on the screen. Has anyone else had this happen? Is it a real fault or just a bug?
Edit: Battery status in the app is reported as “normal” and it has been working great since I got it
Edit 2: ninebot got back to me in an email and told me to reset the scooter by deleting the app, holding the brake lever down and cycling it on and off. That seems to have fixed the issue, but if their are any new updates/developments I’ll update this post.
Edit 3: error came back today, this time while regen braking down a hill. Will be calling support today
