Seriously good, subscribed to the channel! For me considering one of these scooters is, it's just as fast as a car in the city, and I don't have to pay parking or the cost of fuel as I charge it at work and I get 4 days out of it before charge :D ! The rage is amazing even for me at 103KG. Another thing is there is no parking at work after 8am. So with this, I don't have to get to work mental early.
Just bought one, it’s still in the box, from Canadian Tire. After taxes currently under $1500CDN. downloaded the app so far. Looking forward to unboxing it tonight. I live about a 7 min drive, and about a 45 min walk from work. I don’t have need for a car, but I end up relying on rides from others. This way I can get to work without relying as much on another to get me to work, and toss it in the work van and get dropped off at the end of the shift. If my work partner can’t that day, it’s ok too. Pop out the scooter and enjoy the ride home. Not concerned about the weight, I install garage doors for a living so it’s just another heavy thing I throw in the van. I thank you for validating my purchase decision, as I’m sure people I know will think it’s crazy for someone quickly approaching retirement age to be buying this, lol. You’ve convinced me of it’s strengths. Having owned electric skateboard and e-bikes when SLA batteries were the norm, they were poorly built and didn’t last long. The e-bike the handlebars broke off while riding, the electric skateboard broke me, lol thx for posting
Awesome Scooter. Massive range, good/moderate speed limit at 25km/hr. Big wheels, and very comfortable ride for skilled skateboarders and BMX riders, who have previous mastered a few things, using your body to assist in hopping over bumps... Tyres are great, great grip, great absorption.... I barely even fold it up... Scoot to the Supermarket for a small shop, and place the basket on the kickboard, and just walk through the aisles that way... This vehicle is part of our future in cities... I'm 46, and I think I could easily ride this at 75 years of age. Super cheap to run...
You said it Simon! Plus the Max is very simple to maintain as well unlike its predecessors, Xiaomi M365 Pro & M365, due to it risking a fatal inner tube puncture and its very, very, very difficult to replace the inner tube, quite a lot of man POWER lol.

The only review I saw that races a car in a top gear style race. Nicely done. And yes, if it's a nice sunny day in rush hour and if he didn't made a wrong turn, the max would have won easily, especially if it's the US version with 18mph top speed.
Stu’s Reviews I think it’s the best budget scooter I got, though I have a remark, it does not include a hook like the es2 so it will be a little bit of a hassle to carry groceries and such, but otherwise comfortable luxurious ride would recommend it for reliability 👍

Good to know how weatherproof this really is! Just bought two for our family to commute. Can vouch for the insane speed (25k/h) and comfortable to ride in the sunny Australian environment. Conveniently the power lead is the EXACT same power part of my laptop before it's converter. Still only one cable :)

Fun review! I am way late to the G30 party, I have had two of them for about three weeks. Maybe a bit less. But the interesting thing is, everything you stated in this video still holds true. These are very well made basic scoots. They aren't going to win any races but it will likely not break down on you. I have dove as deeply into reading up on them as I can, as well as riding them as much as I can. The only problem I have heard is that sometimes they can burn up if you are heavy on the regen braking when the battery is already at 100%. All of that power has to go somewhere and when the battery is already full, it builds up in the controller and causes it to burn up...physically melt. So if you ride one and often use the regen brake, make sure you get the battery down from 100% some first. That goes for me too, especially when I have performed the "second throttle for regen deceleration" mod - I have an extra throttle lever on the left side for the rear electric brake. I just have to remember to run the battery down some before I get too heavy on it.
At 3k miles I replaced rear tire with a solid tire. At 3.2k miles I replaced cracked rear fender and added a fender support too. At 3.5k miles inside the folding mechanism a small metal link cracked, was able to order and replace. At 4k the mickey mouse fast charging port stopped working, luckily the 2nd standard port still works. (slower charging) not bad for all those miles. I recommend. NYC Ninebot Max G30
Brilliant review Stu. I'm recently retired and a gadget junkie. I love my Bulls Outlaw mtb ebike, but wanted a different e-vehicle experience. So I'm new to escooters and I selected the segway/ninebot g30pl. It's a bit under speced to the original g30. It would be great if you can review this newer version in the lineup. And I agree, Jeremy C is a copycat of your style. 😉
I've had no issues or problems with my ninebot max g30 but there being a need for speed I wish to upgrade to a scooter model that at full exceleleration my feet are parallel with my shoulders. Hang on tight. Don't let go. Watch out for people and livestock.
This was a great review and I am pleased that I saw it. Up to now I have been interested in e-scooters, but was unsure about the quality of the build. Now you have sold me this one., Once they are legal (should be fairly soon) this will be my next purchase. The power cord says it all!

Had my Segway Scooter since Christmas just gone and a pressie to myself! i have mobility problems and limited space in a ground floor flat and fits perfect in my hallway and easy to get out the door and fun to ride even at 47 years young! best transport for my mobility needs and 15 MPH is more than enough and less when on footpaths even walking speed with a little zoom here and there and wear a helmet! just for safety ,,,,
The looks of the scooter is amazing work yellow strips on the wheels and heavy build quality scooter it really should be 18.6 mph it's a shame, good thing it's hackable
I made about 3000 kilometers with my G30. I had a flat front tyre last summer and it took me half a day to change it. It's still a nightmare if you don't have the right tools. Now my rear tyre is starting to lose air every few days and I'm thinking about buying a complete set of new wheels with the tyres already installed.
I have seen millions reviews on scooters, mainly on this, Ninebot Max G30 (mine 😌 hehe).. But I must say that this is the BEST REVIEW EVER! I subscribed to your channel thanks to this video! Keep it up! 🤟🏻
Lovely accent (you ve just earned an Italian subscription, from Venice 🇮🇹), professional review but unfair race: the dude on the scooter got lost for some minutes! :D
Great review, I'm looking at e-scooters for my adult son and I do a lot of research and this Ninebot really is impressive although I've seen some people mention the support for this brand is sorely lacking that's a pretty big deal. More research is needed before making a decision.
I've got this scooter and it fantastic and with the xiao flasher app u connect with Bluetooth is dead easy to make it go 18mph But eats battery quicker on sports mode. I put mine back to default 15mph as u don't need speed to have fun on it. Definitely recommend saving up for this one as it eliminate range anxiety.
Brilliant review mate love how you talk and explain...i could listen whatever you're thinking about for hours! I'm gonna definetly buy this scooter. Thank you!
Good reviews Stu. I like the forthright candor you use. Production quality is getting better. In AUS we have the same road and footpath legal issues with govt. But this is not stopping tons of scooters being sold here. I had such fun riding hire versions (ES4) in Europe last year. A great way to see a city and best sense of solo freedom I've had, since my surfing days a very long time ago. I just have to get one now. Appreciate the Xiaomi and Segway reviews - they're a big help in making my decision. Cheers.
Great review. I just bought one of these for commuting around town and around university as I have low vision so can not get a licence. So far has been a good purchase.
Wow, this a great review. I’ve been watching lots lately to try and get a feel for a few models, price and weight were really making me hesitate abt the max, but I think Youve convinced me.
So I got my max on Wednesday! Really enjoying it so far :) haven't quite got the hang of lifting it over payment steps, and turning, but I can balance pretty well. :)
Bought the solid non foldable kind. 40 mile range and it's fast enough and it won't burnt down the house is a plus. My first scooter and it's got enough power to power me up San Francisco hills and around town. It is rather a harsh ride but with the knees bent it's forgivable. This will be for my daughter who is 12 and weighs 90lbs and safety was my first goal. Testing it out and I'm 5'10 240 and pulls me up hills pretty good. Cheers.
Good review again Stu. The only problem is they're still illegal to ride on pavements and on the public highway However, here's something for you to look at. The Ticwris Max smart watches :-))...
@@StusReviewsUK - I suppose if you're zipping about on your own, then you are self isolating to a point!? 🤔 BTW. I've already ordered a Ticwris Max. Should be.... interesting!!
I don't understand why some people don't think of safety and why they want to go so much faster on these little wheels, I have 8 inch wheel scooter es4 but I don't feel safe even after 20 kmph...... I am very happy with the law which prohibits it cruise under 26 kmph..... It is for everyone's safety, pedestrian and riders....
Fantastic review, from first time Stu's Reviews viewer (and new subscriber...cheers mate)!!! I just ordered my Ninebot Max today (D version as I live in Switzerland) and am stoked. Plus, I'll take that bottle of Bunnahabhain in the background mate. Nice review!
Great content as always Stu. Though a couple of thoughts; 1. Comparisons with ES2 and m365 isn't really fair due to the price difference. More equal would be ES4 and m365 pro (which also have more similar speed and battery capacity) 2. You talk a lot about upgrades over the m365, but that is a different brand. Ninebot and Xiaomi are not affiliated (but to be fair, design-wise it is closer to the m365) 2b. EDIT: Xiaomi is in fact an investor in Ninebot, but amongst many others 3. Adding the ability to make it go faster than 15mph would make it illegal, that's why it is not a feature. But you can mod the firmware to unlock the full potential; easily to 30kmh with a one-click flasher app and even faster if you build/flash your own firmware (easy tools are available) 4. Tubeless tires can puncture as well, but the G30 has a coating inside the tire that repairs most punctures 5. Charging cable is just a standard power plug (cloverleaf or Mickey Mouse connector) and is fairly common, so usually you don't even have to carry that and replacements are cheap (and love that the "uncomfortable" part is UK only :P ) Disclaimer, I do not actually own a G30, but researched it quite a bit and was close to buying one, but ended up with an ES4 as a found an almost-new secondhand for ~250£
Like I said, it’s less of a comparison for capabilities and more the ‘spiritual successor’. FYI Xiaomi and ninebot are affiliated... Xiaomi basically own them (without it being official). They’ve invested huge amounts of money in them... my question is if they were unaffiliated and competing in the electric scooter market, why would Xiaomi be pumping money into them? 😉 My guess the only reason it’s not ‘official’ is so that they can create a monopoly on the market. For that reason I still believe it to be a fair comparison when looking at it as a spiritual successor to both the ES2 (which is also the es4) and the m365 (including the pro model when it comes to design choice)z
Well. Yes and no. Xiaomi has invested in Ninebot, but Ninebot is privately held and as far as I can dig up, there are other companies/funds (like Intel, SDIC, and China Mobile Innovation Industry Fund) who has invested a lot more in Ninebot. I'm not sure where you get that Xiaomi basically owns them, but if that is the case, it is pretty well hidden. As for why; the best investor is always the one who knows the market and Xiaomi does, the rest is speculation. But it is peculiar that they copied the folding mechanism, removed the shock absorption in favor of pneumatic tires and actually mentions the inspiration from m365 in the original backer campaign www.indiegogo.com/projects/ninebot-max-ultimate-electric-scooter-by-segway
@@SeekerDK hmm? On my old M365 classic there was a statement on the label "Made by Ninebot" XIAOMI name is used on different higher quality products from China...I believe they own or let that name be used on product that fulfill some quality standards. Xiaomi is not from beggining producer of electric scooters. Ninebot is!
Another great review... Apart from having the worst bell in the world, the British weather didn't seem to phase the Max in any way. Personally, still trying to figure out what electric scooter to get as it's more for fun than commuting.
Picked mine up a few days ago, first time on a e-scooter, not overly impressed tbh, i kinda felt like i was in no mans land, didn't know whether to ride on the road or pavement, i did use the pavement but felt i was inconveniencing people, im a long time motorbiker so being vulnerable on the road is no problem, but didnt fancy buses passing me within inches......not sure if i will be keeping it or trading for a ebike...
@@wolfe1970 That's weird. It's just a scooter. Here in the US they can only go 15 for bike paths and sidewalks. But watching some videos of ride group gatherings through San Francisco those kids will get it shut down as they blow threw stop signs not looking, texting and just being careless and on the verge of reckless. Anyway, liking mine hopefully your law will change. Good luck.

You know what i went ahead and get an ES4 and I am happy with it. Once I can get back to work after this furlough though I reckon I'll be going for a Max G30 myself.
Ime watching this on March 2021. Looking for a replacement for the Mrs old Mi 365 that she say she loves but has fcuking wrecked in 3 or 4 years. Got it narrowed down to G30. Pro 2 or even the Mercedes AMG pro 2. Its great that guys like you get out there and show the general population these visz. You defo deserve a sub. Just wonering now if these guys are close to some new products as this is not a new vid if you know what I mean. Thanks again
Thanks for a great vid. Quick question - how is it to hump up and down stairs? I live on the 2nd floor and at 18 kg (approx), would it be a pain in the behind? Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers.
aside from safety and durability, repairability and servicing are crucial. like how's the warranty, what does it cover, and how easy it is to replace parts, tires, brakes, and most importantly the battery.
A person making 50 pounds an hour would take over 1000 hours to pay for a $50,000 Audi, while a person making 20 pounds an hour would need only 20 to pay for a 1000 pound eScooter. In addition, just the maintenance for wear and tear of roads comes out to several thousand per year per car/truck. The government could give away three scooters per year and come out ahead, if that got people out of expensive cars.
Nice review sir !now I’m confused I want to buy the mi 365 pro 2 . But when I watch your full video nine booth max has more advantage. In tire lights. Durability. Ang battery
Truly trust your reviews, they are very thorough! Since you know well... I’m between the g30 max and KUGOO g max. Have you had a chance to compare them ? g30 max seems to be more reliable... but less powerful than the Kugoo g max. Any thoughts?
Brilliant review. Thank you. I see they’ve brought out a newer version mk 2. Is more expensive but there seems very little difference. Are you aware of the difference and do you think it’s worth the extra 100 euros?
so it's water resistant and you can ride it in the rain? also, the ES2 had a lof of malfunctions - is that got fixed in that one? Thanks for the awesome review!
Finally somebody say "save your money". Thanks god im not alone and not everybody is Richie Rich :D Very nice video! Loved to watch it! and im saving my money... :D
Hello, nice video. Would you be kind to tell me what kind of camera you used? I could see the handle shadow on the ground, but not towards you. Thank you in advance.
As someone who suffers from back disc issues, I'm considering buying this one for better shock absorbers and smoother ride. I weight barely 130lbs, is it still worth it to buy over ES2? (Taking into account my back issues). Thanks and have a good year!!
I've had mine for ~6mo and have put around 600 miles on it. Tires great shape still. Just make sure to check pressure regularly. I check twice per week.
Totally agree I was given my one lucky me, all I had to do was replace the throttle EASY job. I Never would have bought one probably gone higher grade however your so right it ticks so many boxes and once you give it that boost your talking about (Wink) love sets in lol. They did take all the best features the wheels are frigging amazing!!!!! Maintanance is as follows give tyres a pump once a week. Yeh an sprayed my one Black Peace 👊🏾
Mine are ready to be changed. I cant find any replacement from Segway, only on Banggood/Ebay etc. And I have two options: the OEM looking tubeless air, or a solid rubber (no air) with holes for "suspension" equivalent to the air tires. I ordered a pair of both, but I have not changed them yet. It looks pretty straight forward, but definitely requires some work and peeling up the deck grip and reflector tape to get to some screws, and also removing the rear wheel from the deck. Then of course, prying the tire off the wheel and prying the new one on using some tire tools. There are some videos online of this procedure.
The xiaomi m365 didn't disappointed me after few ajustment for an entry level. Didn't have any issues during 1000km. Sold it... well i bough a boosted rev after than then i gone broke haha but i loved it was able to climb everything and going fast with dual motors. A Ip6x toy... maybe this one is the right middle im looking for, i miss an electric scooter
Nice review! It definitely helped in my research for the perfect scooter. Also big thanks for using kilograms (or the standard bags of sugar, i'm fluent in both!)

Had my Segway Scooter since Christmas just gone and a pressie to myself! i have mobility problems and limited space in a ground floor flat and fits perfect in my hallway and easy to get out the door and fun to ride even at 47 years young! best transport for my mobility needs and 15 MPH is more than enough and less when on footpaths even walking speed with a little zoom here and there and wear a helmet! just for safety ,,,,
Bought this scooter today. I got the ES4 and the 365. This beats both hands down.
Such a smoother ride
What scooter is better ninebot es4 or xiaomi m365 bc im not sure what to buy
@@stefanverhoef7193 nine bot es4. I have all 3
@@metro25dish thx
I feel alot more confident about my purchase of the max thank you.
How is it so far. I am thinking about the Ninebot Max.
The looks of the scooter is amazing work yellow strips on the wheels and heavy build quality scooter it really should be 18.6 mph it's a shame, good thing it's hackable
It's water resistant ?
Does it work in the rain fully?
@@KING-no3jb yes but dont recommend it in heavy rain for a long time
I made about 3000 kilometers with my G30. I had a flat front tyre last summer and it took me half a day to change it. It's still a nightmare if you don't have the right tools. Now my rear tyre is starting to lose air every few days and I'm thinking about buying a complete set of new wheels with the tyres already installed.
where did you buy those? how did it go?
I have seen millions reviews on scooters, mainly on this, Ninebot Max G30 (mine 😌 hehe)..
But I must say that this is the BEST REVIEW EVER!
I subscribed to your channel thanks to this video!
Keep it up! 🤟🏻
What’s the mileage like does it do what it says in the tin? Just curious man
@@OFFICIAL_DSR you mean my mileage?? Until today I did 8500km (5500miles). And I bought my maxg30 in January 20th
Lovely accent (you ve just earned an Italian subscription, from Venice 🇮🇹), professional review but unfair race: the dude on the scooter got lost for some minutes! :D
Thanks Marco. Venice is lovely! And we will race again - don’t you worry! 👍
Great review, I'm looking at e-scooters for my adult son and I do a lot of research and this Ninebot really is impressive although I've seen some people mention the support for this brand is sorely lacking that's a pretty big deal. More research is needed before making a decision.
You are a great dad
Ninebot is probably one of the best producers of e scooters so i would buy a ninebot (or xiaomi)
Bought this scooter just 3 days ago and im in love with it.
Nice job buddy! Greetings from Brazil.
Totally! The range is great out of this!
In the US mine is 18.5 mph top speed but once you use 1/4 battery it drops to 15. Doesn’t matter, it’s awesome
@@bfarm44 your back wheel must start with a 6. If it starts with a 9 it will stay at top speed until about 40% then it drops to 17.
Brilliant review mate love how you talk and explain...i could listen whatever you're thinking about for hours! I'm gonna definetly buy this scooter. Thank you!
Loved the race 😂...Great review, man!
Thanks Rosi!
No way! This is literally the lane is on my way to work!
Have it, love it. Added a front suspension and love it even more.
Cheers.
Great work, Stu. I really appreciate your review, as it helped me be happy in my purchase.
Good review again Stu. The only problem is they're still illegal to ride on pavements and on the public highway
However, here's something for you to look at. The Ticwris Max smart watches :-))...
I’ll take a look! And... what can I say, I’m an outlaw 🏴☠️
@@StusReviewsUK - I suppose if you're zipping about on your own, then you are self isolating to a point!? 🤔
BTW. I've already ordered a Ticwris Max. Should be.... interesting!!
Brilliant review! Appreciate the advice to save up and buy this scooter instead of the cheaper ones and the race was hilarious!
I bought one been 4 moths now , love it more than love , what could I say more than value for money
Awesome video! I lived in Wales for 2 years (St Davids) and regret I didn't spend more time in Cardiff.
Man, you need to put the race of Ninebot vs. Audi an begining of a video! it`s the best part of review!
You know what they say... save the best till last! 😉
I don't understand why some people don't think of safety and why they want to go so much faster on these little wheels,
I have 8 inch wheel scooter es4 but I don't feel safe even after 20 kmph......
I am very happy with the law which prohibits it cruise under 26 kmph.....
It is for everyone's safety, pedestrian and riders....
I'm happy with 15-18 mph. I'm an old guy and have dumped a few bikes at that place it's not fun. Knees took a beating.
For kids it's perfect.
Great content as always Stu. Though a couple of thoughts;
1. Comparisons with ES2 and m365 isn't really fair due to the price difference. More equal would be ES4 and m365 pro (which also have more similar speed and battery capacity)
2. You talk a lot about upgrades over the m365, but that is a different brand. Ninebot and Xiaomi are not affiliated (but to be fair, design-wise it is closer to the m365)
2b. EDIT: Xiaomi is in fact an investor in Ninebot, but amongst many others
3. Adding the ability to make it go faster than 15mph would make it illegal, that's why it is not a feature. But you can mod the firmware to unlock the full potential; easily to 30kmh with a one-click flasher app and even faster if you build/flash your own firmware (easy tools are available)
4. Tubeless tires can puncture as well, but the G30 has a coating inside the tire that repairs most punctures
5. Charging cable is just a standard power plug (cloverleaf or Mickey Mouse connector) and is fairly common, so usually you don't even have to carry that and replacements are cheap (and love that the "uncomfortable" part is UK only :P )
Disclaimer, I do not actually own a G30, but researched it quite a bit and was close to buying one, but ended up with an ES4 as a found an almost-new secondhand for ~250£
Like I said, it’s less of a comparison for capabilities and more the ‘spiritual successor’. FYI Xiaomi and ninebot are affiliated... Xiaomi basically own them (without it being official). They’ve invested huge amounts of money in them... my question is if they were unaffiliated and competing in the electric scooter market, why would Xiaomi be pumping money into them? 😉
My guess the only reason it’s not ‘official’ is so that they can create a monopoly on the market.
@@SeekerDK
Is Segway affiliated with Ninebot or is it just using the name of the self balancing scooters under license or something?
@@SeekerDK hmm? On my old M365 classic there was a statement on the label "Made by Ninebot" XIAOMI name is used on different higher quality products from China...I believe they own or let that name be used on product that fulfill some quality standards. Xiaomi is not from beggining producer of electric scooters. Ninebot is!
Brilliant review. Just bought missus one for her commute to work. Be getting one myself just for the fun of it!
Another great review... Apart from having the worst bell in the world, the British weather didn't seem to phase the Max in any way. Personally, still trying to figure out what electric scooter to get as it's more for fun than commuting.
im getting this scooter and this man is helping me comfirm my choice
Mine goes 24-25 km/h on Sport mode (I think it’s a EU regulation)
But That’s definitely fast enough for city use
Michael Bing how?
You can hack it to 30km/h, easy to do from what I've read
@@Solpaneler Just download the Xiaomi Flasher app and switch to US locale. I get up to 32kph on mine.
I weigh 185 pounds and I get 19 mph from mine
Picked mine up a few days ago, first time on a e-scooter, not overly impressed tbh, i kinda felt like i was in no mans land, didn't know whether to ride on the road or pavement, i did use the pavement but felt i was inconveniencing people, im a long time motorbiker so being vulnerable on the road is no problem, but didnt fancy buses passing me within inches......not sure if i will be keeping it or trading for a ebike...
But you get to use it on EITHER road or sidewalk something an ebike can't do.
Get a Dualtron if you want speed.
@@rxonmymind8362 well not really, just found out they are illegal to use on anything but private land
@@wolfe1970
That's weird.
Good luck.
I'm considering buying this because I just can't afford a car right now being a young worker. This will allow me to save a lot of money.
100%! Much more economical compared to a car!

Your a legend . What an amazing review
Great video thanks for posting 👍
Great review. Well spoken and edited. The race at the end was brilliant.
Thank you for this great review!
Hi there, great review ... can you tell me how you can film yourself riding the scooter like that?
He was using a long selfie stick fastened to the handlebars that you can see in later half of the video.

I bought from my friend for £500 and I love it my life is easier now highly recommended Segway-Ninebot g30 👍👍👍

Problem is: After two months the power button broke/ got stuck halfway. They cheaped out on the wrongest part. Have to send it back....

that guy should work as top gear incredible
BBC is establishing a connection to Stu's Reviews (pending).... 🤣
How's changing the tire on this model though, when you do need to do it?
