Thank you for telling us of Pinocchio's true creator, Carlo Collodi. I do agree that Walt Disney's Pinocchio is one of the best movies he made,if not the best...but remember, Walt Disney's Pinocchio is just that...WALT DISNEY'S Pinocchio.

Hey. I'll sign off on the Tyrol theory. I always found it strange that the design looks more German than Italian. But hey, I think it is nice to have a mix of Italian-German. We probably shouldn't take the voices of the characters literally, like Lampwicks and Jiminy Crickets since they are American. I can believe that a Cockney Person would be in continental Europe to make money off of Pleasure Island. I do like the idea of Pinocchio traveling 3 days+ to get to Venice to rescue Gepetto. It would make Gepetto's line about starving make more sense.
However, I do have a few more questions. Where would Pleasure Island be located? On an island within Italy?? Or an island off the coast of Eastern Italy?? How long did it take Pinocchio to return from Pleasure Island only to find Gepetto gone?? Also, if they wash up on the shore of Venice when Pinocchio drowns, why was Gepetto mourning for him at his house later? How did he get home?? Did he carry Pinocchio all the way crying and then keep crying at home? Or did someone take him home and then they realized Pinocchio was dead and mourned? I am of the belief that we can not assume that what we see on the screen and hear in the movies is always 100% accurate.

I'm not sure how literally we can take any of the things on pleasure Island, considering it's heavily implied to be run by the literal devil (the coachman).
I mean, his henchmen seem to be some kind of shadow gorilla demons.
Who knows what sort of unholy powers he uses to run his amusement park.

Yeah. I was thinking that, too. The thing that makes me think the technology is period-accurate is Lampwick's knowledge of pool. He seems to know how to play the game without anyone teaching him, so he must have picked up that knowledge somewhere else beforehand. Since pool was invented around the same time as the technology we see on the island, it seems to me like we can take that stuff at face value.

It's ironic you mentioned that much elements of Snow white were incorporated in Pinocchio, cause years ago I read a theory that said Geppetto was actually Dopey from Snow white, but as a kid I watched a Tv show called House of Mouse( 2001-2003) where Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Daisy Dick, Minnie mouse and others worked there and all the Disney movie characters( both the villains and the good characters like Aurora, snow white, Ariel etc. ) were the customers. But each character was a separate one from the other so the theory above probably is not true at all.

I loved House of Mouse! I love fan theories, too! I don't know if I've heard the theory of Geppetto being Dopey before. Interesting!
