In the Jungle Cubs animated series it's told (albeit not shown) that Louie lives with his parents and he mentions nothing of having met humans. I believe Louie was born in India but it was his parents who either escaped human captivity or used a human vessel to arrive to India. Somehow his parents must have died before they could have another son, explaining why there aren't any other orangutans in sight.
Wow! I found this video very intriguing and informative. I always assumed that the film took place in the forests of the Seoni region circa 1894, as that was the time and region that the book took place, so it’s quite interesting to discover that it more likely has a very different setting. Fun fact: I am of Pakistani descent and once, when I went to see a cinema re-release of the movie with my father, he told me afterwards that the scene when Mowgli meets the girl at the end reminded him of a Pakistani tradition, so for the longest time I thought that the film took place in pre-1947 Pakistan (when it was part of India.)
@@mickeyology5180 i think that Colonel Hathi's son in the 1967 movie is around the same age that Hathi is in Jungle cubs... so probably his son is probably between 6 and 10

If jungle book take place in the early 1900s or early 1910s, then when does Jungle cubs take place?
Considering the average lifespans of the different animals, probably 15-ish years before, so around the 1890s?
@@mickeyology5180 1890s?
