    Hello Alan,
    0.19A will drain the battery.
Limit is 0.05A max. In normal condition and when car goes to "sleep" , drain will be 0.03 or less.
    I like your videos.👍

    Excellent video as always!
Your friend Dan will be in for a very squeaky ride on the long run, within a month or two the front anti sway bar will start rubbing directly on those d bushes making an awful squeaky noise .. regardless of how much lube you use, it just will not last as most of it will squirt out once you clamp down the brackets.
And if the brackets clamping the anti sway bar down to the subframe lack lubricating nipples, re-lubing every month or so is a PITA .. ask me how I know 😏 Didn't take long for me to re-drop the subframe and rip those bushes out .. Besides, the OE ones are rubber coated steel and are sufficiently firm and stiff, even better than the polyurethane ones.

No grease for the slider pins? No cooper seize on the hub before disc goes back on? No brake silicone or cooper seize on the dog ears of the brake pads? Just asking.

    • @nemocap2958

ATE system slider pins shouldn't be greased as they are open from the carrier side and any grease will attract dust, dirt and etc.

      @mikewilson631 4 роки тому

@@nemocap2958 I've always greased the caliper slider pins and have never found dirt on them. I _have_ found stuck pads that have clearly not had their ears greased by the previous dealer service. If your pads are wearing unequally, one of the above is almost certainly to blame.

Great vid mate as always. I own a Range Rover l322 td6 and yes battery drain is a common problem. My motor stands for long periods of time, so just purchased a trickle charger when not in use. I did think the tissue paper idea was great and will be testing my motor later!👍
Regarding the Ford ST, I'd be very interested to know what's happening inside the dodgy caliper. Really strange how the new braided hose fits all the way inside the caliper! I bet the bloke who owns it was gutted! Hopefully the new fitting you suggested will sort it. 👍

Parts that don't fit can get you scratching your head, I replaced the rear brake pads on my old Saab 9000 a few years ago. Every time I clipped the pad into the caliper piston it shot out again! The old one clipped in and out no problem. The new Pagid one looked identical but measuring with a Vernier caliper showed otherwise. Back to ECP and swapped for another make, problem solved. It would be interesting to remove the Goodridge hose that fits ok and try it in the problem caliper.

You could check the voltage on the fuses. I've seen Scotty Killmer do that and it helped lecate the leak as the voltage on one of the fuses was higher than it should have been.

The brake hoses on the front should have come with a copper crush washer. They do that so they don’t have to make custom length fittings for every brake callipers setup. Providing the aluminium isn’t badly pitted and the surface is clean and smooth then you won’t have any sealing issues

Just got to this part. I was wondering would Dan get a new set of HELL brake hoses or not. I don´t know if they sell them front/back apart but when I ordered mine for the Volvo V50 I had to order all 4 of them as a set. They are really great quality and you can have them in colour of choice (they are a bit expensive in comparing with original ones but they are tight like armored hoses so they do not get that swell under preasure). I wonder if they had send him hoses for different car or where the fault had been. They make them plug and play really for individual models. Also it came to my mind those could have possibly been the front ones. Bad luck I gues.

Bonnet pin switch is common, unplug it. You also need to leave it for longer to monitor it, if there’s a intermittent fault, it might wake back up on its own after a period of time..... continually. Easy way to tell if it’s gone to sleep, is the light on the gear selector will go out, then come on when it wakes up. Water in the electrics in the ear cubbies, sat nav etc is common. I’ve had around 10 of these l322s, I know them quite well.

I fitted exactly the same Focus ST225 calipers and caliper carriers to my Jaguar X-Type 3.0. Like the Mondeo Mk2 they bolt straight on.
I also used Goodrich braided hoses and one failed at that top curve after only 3 years.
I believe the Goodridge hoses are about 5% too short and are doomed to fail. Even with the wheels on the ground that top curve always looked tight.
A standard pair of hoses replaced them (cant recall the brand, but it was one I knew...don't skimp on brakes) and are that fraction longer.
That is the safer option IMO.

Irrelevant I know, but since it's a miserable Sunday afternoon with me being on call 😒 ... that tissue sucking fan is not an air temp gauge, but an air quality sensor, it tells the climate control unit when to stop recycling air in the cabin and when to open a flap to bring in fresh air from the outside. 🙂
0.19A current withdrawal while dormant is too much and will drain a battery, range shouldn't be more than 0.05A .. perform a parasitic leak test on the fuses, but first thoroughly test the alternator.
    Good luck 🤞🙂

thanks for the info...been advised by a range rover specialist that under 200ma is pretty good for a range rover...its been out for a week now with no flat battery

Your amp draw is way too high.
It's reading 190 milliamps you need it to be less than 50 milliamps.

But we just don't have the spare amps!

been advised by a range rover specialist that under 200ma draw is a good one but thats range rovers...other cars are as you would say

Surely the discs disperse brake dust, much the same as tyres disperse water, hence facing forward, So the disc that went on is for the offside!!

Actually 0,19A is lot - 0,05A is the max. allowed (at least used to be......maybe the never cars)
