  • Comparing the frothing ability of Oat Milk vs. Almond Milk. What kind of froth do they produce? Can Oat Milk be frothed for coffee, lattes, cappuccinos, hot chocolate, etc.? Is oat milk better for frothing? We already showed that Almond Milk can froth up well in a previous video, but apparently it depends upon the brand. I performed the tests and reviews using Whole Foods 365 brand of oat milk and almond milk, to test their frothing potential.

      Nice.. I'm glad you stuck with it. Once you get the hang of it and develop your frothing technique, frothing almond milk is no longer a challenge and can be enjoyed just like any other milk. Thank you for the positive feedback and Happy Frothing!!

    Usually unsweetened vegan milk dont froth well, the almond shouldnt be unsweetened to create a creamier froth.

    • @efficientway
      @efficientway  2 роки тому +1

      That's interesting. If I understand correctly, you're saying regular almond milk, which contains more sugar, creates a creamier froth than the unsweetened almond milk. You think it's because of the sugar? With dairy milk it's usually a function of the fat content- a higher percentage of fat creates creamier froth. In general, even without froth, the oat milk is much creamier to me, than the almond milk. Thanks for the tip.

      @@efficientway I use unsweetened almond milk and it works great, you just have to heat it up.

    • @efficientway
      @efficientway  Рік тому

      @@debidee5548 Yup, proper heat when frothing almond milk (or any milk for that matter) is key. Enjoy!

    Can you do this with hazelnut milk?
    Thank you 😊

      I've never tried hazelnut milk, but if I had to guess, I would say it should work. I have a video on frothed, triple layer, hot chocolate. I'm thinking hazelnut milk as the base might taste amazing!

    My damn oat milk will not froth it’s so annoying! And it’s oatly too, supposedly the good shit!

    • @efficientway
      @efficientway  Рік тому

      Not to worry. First try adjusting the temperature. You should be warming up the milk first. If you are already, try making it hotter. But be sure not to make it so hot that it boils or forms a skin on top. After that, make sure your frothing technique is correct. I have an instructional video on this channel that you may find helpful. 90% of the time those two things solve the problem of frothing milk. There's no reason Oatly milk shouldn't froth up well. Enjoy and if you still have issues, write me back and I will help you.

    Oat milk is full of sugar which sucks

    • @efficientway
      @efficientway  2 роки тому +1

      Yea, unsweetened almond milk only has 1 gram of sugar in it. Planet Oat oat milk has zero grams of sugar and 45 calories per serving in their unsweetened original oat milk. Chobani Oat Zero Sugar Oat Drink has no sugar and 80 calories per serving. I don't know how or why they differ so much in terms of calories. More importantly, I don't know how they taste. I do know that regular dairy milk also has a lot of natural sugar in it. So at least there are more low sugar options for both oat milk and almond milk as compared to dairy milk.

      @@victoriabitong760 Funny I'll find myself looking at how much sugar bottles of tomato sauce have and compare them. Later that night I'll go eat a handful of M&M's! LOL! To be fair, some people have medical issues whereby they have to monitor their sugar intake, but if not, sure, why not? Enjoy!!!

    • @efficientway
      @efficientway  2 роки тому

      @@Chat8080 I just find the differences in calories and grams of fat per serving across brands (with the unsweetened versions) to be interesting. You would think they're all using the same general process and would thus produce similar products, but that's not the case.

    Posts a 9-min video comparing oat vs soy frothing only to tell you in the end that the soy brand he used here apparently doesn't froth like others do...sorta waste of video/time.

    • @tei3481
      @tei3481 2 роки тому +5

      Maybe it's because I read your reply first, but I noticed he mentions the almond milk brand not frothing as well as some other brands in the very first minute of the video?
      Watching someone froth milk alternatives for 9 minutes is a good time spent, according to my sleep deprived brain :)

    • @efficientway
      @efficientway  2 роки тому +10

      I'm sorry you feel that way about your viewing experience. I'm sure it's a small oversight, but to be clear this video compares oat milk vs. almond milk, not soy milk. With regards to the value of the video, most people are watching to gain some knowledge and or information. Let's look at what a typical viewer would learn and you can additionally extrapolate the time savings (part of the value proposition) associated with gaining that knowledge:
      1)How Wholefoods brand oat milk and almond milk look, taste (imo), pour (viscosity), etc.
      2)How well/poorly Wholefoods brand oat milk and almond milk froth (witnessed in a clear cup).
      3)How oat milk froths up relative to almond milk- the comparison: the look, how long the froth lasts, how fast it froths up, etc.
      4)Techniques for using a hand frother to froth oat milk and almond milk
      5) Timing necessary to heat and froth oat milk and almond milk
      5)A portable kitchen tool that can be used to froth oat milk and almond milk (with a link to easily find & view the product)
      6)Not only the knowledge that another (specifically named brand- SILK/Almond Breeze) almond milk froths up better than the Wholefoods brand, but also a visible reference (having now seen how Wholefoods froths up) to compare the other brand to.
      7)Guidance (in terms of suggesting that viewers watch my other video where I froth up Silk almond milk) as far as where they can see this alternative almond milk being frothed. Versus just doing another video where I use Silk/Almond Breeze milk.
      8)I think pricing was mentioned, but that may have been in Part 1
      I think different viewers will pick up on additional/different points and each will value those points differently. For some, saving them the cost of buying the "wrong" brand is big. Not because of the actual cost, but some people hate that feeling of wasting money. For others, they hate being disappointed, and if this video points them in the right direction, that is valuable. For some, it's their time... buying the wrong product results in 2 trips to the grocery store vs. just one if they get the better product the first time. For others, who are on the fence about a product, just that little push of confidence is viewed as helpful. So while I don't think most people watch this video and consider it a poor experience, since you did, I will offer you these last words... From my own experiences, I can tell you that in life, if you can take out even one piece of "good" from what you view as a bad experience, and focus on that, vs. what your brain will tend to try to automatically focus on (because most people are wired that way), you will be happier in life. Most people aren't wired to "see the glass half full" (pun intended), it's something most have to make a point of doing. But it's worth it because isn't that the ultimate goal... to be happy or at least content = happy?
