      If you're looking I've got an Egnater SS4 switcher. It functions just like the Kahayan but is more affordable. I'm letting mine go if you would be interested. No sweat if not :)

    I use the KHE Audio amp switcher. To me it is hands down the best. Swiss made. I use a stream deck to switch the amps and cabs.

      Debating a khe vs kahayan. Would love to hear why you think khe is the best. Cheers!

    Great video! I got a switcher as well but have decided to work with a different work flow. I do really dig the ease and flow though!

    I'm gonna get me one of the KHE Amp Switchers, must be totally awesome to have all amps available by a flick of a switch.

    KHE all day and night. Also, I have an ox box and it’s great to use for cab emulation but as an attenuator I think it’s subpar so use my fryette Powerstation for that. Between all of that I can have cabs moving air (moderately) and still have the OX powering my studio monitors at the same time. Best of all worlds.

      Do you go line out of the fryette to the OX or do you come out of a switcher to the OX

    How could you record a band as a beginner with beginner equipment? Could you maybe make a video?

    I have a DeLisle amp switcher 4x4 and it works great, No midi but still cool.

    Do you have the Ox in and out of the bus on the keyahan? And then you can have your 4 speakers be the speakers of your combos. All can be attenuated but you could also take the champ head into the Princeton speaker.
    And to have that flexibility you turn the speaker volume on the ox to zero.

    • @peterpalmieri1289
      @peterpalmieri1289 11 місяців тому

      To be more clear the bus insert is for the ox. Connect your four speaker options to the combo speakers.
      I don’t the switcher yet but that’s the plan.

    I’m new to amp switchers and I’m curious about the ohm load. Does it carry the ohm load for you when you switch amps? Is it a set ohm load or is it variable between 4,8, and 16? Great channel.

  • @davidwilliams8031
    @davidwilliams8031 11 місяців тому +3

    Does the Ox attenuate with this particular hookup method? If so, pretty sweet that all your amps have that ability now.
    Can the cab outputs be individually adjusted for ohm requirements?

    • @baronhead
      @baronhead 4 місяці тому

      My question as well since the OX makes you choose the hm setting for the speaker output. So if you have it sent to 8ohm and switch to a 16ohm cab or a 4 ohm can you would also need to switch the OX to match on the back of the ox. So best to keep the Ox within reach.

    Awesome! Great video! I'm in the midst of getting some OX goodness in my life, as well as trying to figure out which amp/speaker switcher to go with. The Kahayan seems pretty straight forward. I currently have a lot more old/vintage combo amps than I do heads. Question, how are you hooking up the combo amps with the OX? Do any of them require special modifications to do so?! Also, I'm assuming, when using the OX speaker/cab sims with your amps, one does not need to be concerned with matching ohms, etc... as you would when dealing with real cabs, correct?
    Thanks for sharing!

    I keep looking at switchers like this and I really think I need to bite the bullet. Think I'm going to end up getting the KHE unit.

    Does anybody know what is Frank playing on guitar. Is it just improvisation or is that an actual song/piece of music? It's just so amazing, played with great feel. Would be very appreciative of any info:)

    One day these switcher manufacturers will put the send/return before the “to power amp” section of the amp instead of after the entire amp

    • @aarongrimwood6594
      @aarongrimwood6594 11 місяців тому

      Why would they? Most classic amps don’t have power amp inputs? If you want to mix pre and power amps then synergy is the way to go really

      @@NuclearDeathWalk If that’s what you like or the only thing you can do because of noise, I just can’t not use live amps and cabs with mics, it’s probably all in my head but I just can’t do anything else.

      @@bassyey like I said in my other response, I don’t think IRs are the same as a mic in an actual room with an actual speaker moving air in real time with a guitarist feeling the amp.

    Cool tool & toy, the KHE and the Tube Amp Manufaktur are also great - for a pro studio with high pressure recording situations or a pro session guitarist's setup that need it.
    Total overkill for a home studio, IMHO.
    🤷🏼‍♂️
    Then again, yours has stopped being a "home studio" quite a while ago, hasn't it? The whole "Thank you Sweetwater" deal seems to make many of you guys forget the real world and the real depth of people's pockets - or the fact that yours is now a gear showroom franchise, not a studio. So crowded with excessive sponsored gear that it's probably interfering with the already iffy acoustic treatment as far as mixing & monitoring goes, as well as visibly eating into the actual available '"room" for a good drum recording space, or for such a lavishly multi-amp equipped recording space (which BTW would nead actual cabinets, not an Ox, as every good guitarist will tell you).
    Sorry to rain on your parade, but this constant G.A.S. sales push makes too many of these UA-camr videos either irritatingly or laughably unrelatable and unrealistic.

    • @itsstudiotime
      @itsstudiotime  11 місяців тому +3

      I appreciate you watching. I don’t make videos to appeal to any particular group of people. So if you’re looking for videos that stick to a particular budget or situation than I’m no sure why you keep clicking on videos that obviously not in your wheelhouse. I personally produce, engineer and play on records here in Nashville in my home studio. And I have built a business out of these channels that bring a lot of value to the audience who is seeking these topics. The goals of my work align with ideas from studios I visit that are real working spaces with both working class and professional producers and engineers. Happy to have you here either way, but if you don’t like how a video is unrelatable or unrealistic I suppose you could not click it. But some of the more interesting videos that I love to watch are totally unrelatable and unrealistic, and fun/entertaining.
