How to Shade a Face for COMICS ( Single Point Light )
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 жов 2024
- In this video, I walk you through my drawing process for shading a face. We first establish a light source and then apply shadows and cross-hatching. This is a basic approach and can be a great way to add simple light and shadow to your comic book characters.

thanks man I appreciate the video it helped me out a lot. I've been drawing since I was 4 but I never really experimented with too much cross hatching it was always a hit or a miss I usually did my own random things that I picked up from just stream of conscious drawing, thank you for breaking it down!
Thanks Rob. Very helpful and using what you taught here has brought my art to a whole new level.

ANYTIME!!
Great explaining! Thanks for your work :)
Great video Robert; this is extremely helpful! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us lowly beginners 🤣
Though I know this technique isn't software-specific, I was happy to hear you're using Clip Studio Paint, because that's what I use. I'm curious about what brush you use at the beginning, which paints darker over itself and makes it look like a real-life marker. Or is it a specific setting? Like I said, beginners lol... I've been focusing on the pencil and pen tools and just basic drawing so far, so I haven't gotten into that kinda stuff yet...
Nice tutorial!!! 👍
Thank you very much!!
@@RobertMarzullo it is helpfull!!! For the shadding technics.....can i send you per E mail my arts.. im drawing with ballpen.. my pictures a not perfect..you want see...???
It really helps, can u make the same tutorial shading human body, thanks again.
great stuff! I am having trouble with this particular type of shading. My hashing is getting better, and advice for contour shading? I can line shade a circle but contour puts me n my place. Thanks for this vid.
Thank you very much! I will do more in-depth shading videos very soon and see if I can shed some light on the subject. ( no pun intended. )
very helpful!
I always thought that with crosshatching such as in the initial shading, needed to be all in the same direction.
No rules really. The best shading is all over the place in my opinion but it would depend upon your style choice.
Don't ever stop those little side commentaries. I don't think it's deviating. It's a unique way of teaching. Sort of a small little bumps on the road that get you where u gotta go. It's also entertaining...sternocleido thingy majig lol
Hi, whats drawing software are you using? very nice stuff!
