A mashup of two nostalgic 1970s shows!!! How could it have been done while both shows were still in production?
I put this video together to share some of the process for a retro pulp-style vintage poster I made using Procreate.
What would you have done differently? If you could pick any Doctor to meet Columbo, which would you choose? Who else would've made a good crossover?

I love this idea. I'm a massive Columbo fan and I'm a huge Sci-fi fan. Being in the UK, I've always been aware of Doctor Who, although the show's campy nature never appealed to me, some of the lore is really interesting. I recently saw a documentary on Tom Baker and his version of the Doctor, Tom had so much love for the fans of the show and seemed to be so willing to interact with them, he respected what they were passionate about. This is such a terrific presentation and feels so much more than a weird 'what if.' A lot of thought has gone into this idea, connecting it to reality and making it tangible.
I've seen most episodes of Columbo multiple times. They get better every time I see them. I'd be curious to know what the Tom Baker documentary was; sounds very interesting. I'm very humbled by your kind feedback. Whenever I post a video, I never know what is going to happen. However, this concept seems to be resonating with a lot of wonderful folks. Thanks again.

Nice work! This would have been a fun episode. I feel like bringing knowledge of the supernatural into Columbo would upset the dynamic of that show if it were canonical, but I can imagine the 4th Doctor and the Lieutenant getting along pretty well.
Also, this would be nice to post your art and thoughts on this to a blog post, so it's easier to link to. Video isn't always the best way present these kinds of project, I think? You might be able to elaborate a bit more upon the idea there, maybe make another video if you get significant interest.
I agree on the supernatural element. I thought it was out of place when Robby the Robot showed up in "Mind Over Mayhem." I think it could work if kept to a minimum.
As far a significant interest, this is by far the most popular video I have ever made. My priority is to get this channel monetized, so the video is absolutely serving its purpose to get me views and engagement.
I have several videos that show how I drew various things, and this video started out that way. It turned out that the research itself was fun enough that I wanted to share it.
I'm sure you're right that a blog could also get engagement, but UA-cam is my platform of choice. I could see, conceivably, doing an animatic of a Columbo/Doctor Who story, but I think that is as far as I would take it.
Since UA-cam is not (yet) a full-time job, it takes me forever to get a project done. I did my mock-up poster back around February and did not get to do this video until December.
They would be best friends literally. But sadly the doctor knows he out life him.
That's so sad! But the Doctor knows that about all of his companions. Doesn't stop him from still seeking out their friendships. 😊

What kind of run time are we talking? I’m not very familiar with Columbo, but Doctor Who stories of that time were told in 25 minute episodes, often stringing many of them together to tell one story.
Columbo episodes were feature-length in a movie-of-the-week format. That would be my preference.

Great research! If you switch in the BBC logo from the 1970's it will be be more in keeping with the style of your poster. :)

The Andy Griffith Show aired from 1960-1968. Columbo had one episode in the 60s, 1968's "Prescription: Murder." So, it could have happened, but the Lieutenant would have been very young!
