I think it would be different if someone was living in the house then maybe the neighbors might have helped out ! But no one cares about abandoned properties ! If the owner of the property doesnt care about why should anyone else !
People don’t even want to take care of their own yard… They cannot lift a finger anymore…especially the males. Work is work. Whoever is able bodied should do the work on the yard.
The problem with saying that. I agree with you. But people have to work a real job some times 2 to make it to pay for the house they live in. They dont have time. But again they should pay someone to do it at least. Here you get fined if you dont. @@SharperMind123
I agree. My nephew and myself mow six to seven lawns if they need it a week during late spring into late fall. In the winter we shovel myself and my nephew snow blows on whole city block six houses one side and six on the other (Cottage street and around to State St back around to Cottage street).

This what WE did back in the day. Neighbors would get together and keep that house looking occupied! Instead of complaining. I m 74 summers always helping out in my neighborhood. After moving out of my home DETROIT❤ to the burbs these people are TOTALLY anti neighbor🥺 as long as we keep our property up THEY DO NOT CARE! No more VILLAGE vibes😢
I doubt it, many broken windows have let moisture in, the foundation on one side has collapsed, the roof has no soffits and thus the framing is likely rotted in many places and all the gutters have left the chat years ago and the top plate at the roofline has been left exposed long enough to cause rot within the walls. Besides, the roof may have been leaking for a long while too.
They should’ve had a neighborhood block party and gotten together to clean up that yard that would’ve been the neighborly thing to do. But yet again you step in and do what others want your simply amazing.
I was so happy to see someone helping you with this job. That's one rugged mower you have there, the way you plow through all those saplings, etc. and then tie the fallen trees to your mower and pull them away. Fantastic.
As my Momma used to say "that was just putting lipstick on a pig" on that house. I love your videos..... You always do a great job. You are a blessing to yor community.

In my area, you can get the local fire department to burn the old house down for training. Then, the owner just has to bury the remaining debris. This would make a great lot for a double wide with the storm shelter. Nice job!
Definitely a knock down - not sure how much land is worth down there, but a huge lot - could probably build 2 houses on there. Here in Toronto they’d build a 52 storey condo!!

Don't be so hard on the homeowners, with the economy the way its been, people might barely be getting by. I'm sure it's hard for homeowners to see the condition the homes are becoming, or perhaps it's age or health that is affecting them from staying on top of it. Another crazy yard Kevin. Well done for clearing this, especially with the help of your Dad. I've seen you spead seeds a couple of times and thought it was a great idea. Some local councils in my area have put large rectangular strips of land, along side the road and seeded them with wild flowers. Also some parks have a small areas dedicated to wild flowers. It’s so heartbreaking to see so many empty abandoned houses scattered around the world in general while so many people are homeless and dying on our streets and living in cars and derelict buildings while homes are rotting and decaying and becoming overwhelmed with overgrown trees and vines and shrubs etc. common knowledge that each other countries have a land registry to keep a track on ownership and how when we do without a will to the government becomes owned if no survival of relatives. Many banks and buildings societies have repossessed homes in unforeseen circumstances and they have allowed the property to just become derelict places instead of selling them off or renting out the property to under the issue that is happening now. Even if you leave your house to family members who don’t want it to live in a place far away or another country and just let it become a derelict land and property. I think if you know a place has been vacant for over a period of time to like having a right to claim ownership and then turn it around instead of letting it rot away

Because it was a different time. Nowadays, it seems that people don't even know their neighbors' names, let alone help them. Just my opinion.
